My name is Phoenix
Phoenix POV
My name is Phoenix & this is my story. You never realize how crazy things can be in your life until you start to write it all down. I am the youngest of all three of the children my parents had. As a matter of fact, I am the baby of the family. My two sisters are Lyra & Alaina. Alaina will be the first female Alpha in well over a decade.
I became the next Lycan king simply because I am the first boy in about 2–3 generations. I was bigger than my dad in height when I finally stopped growing. I measure 7 feet 5 inches tall, & I am surprisingly stronger than my father. I was sent away to a training camp with my great-grandfather. I found out I am stronger than him & he is a Lycan King. We were both just as surprised when I completed my camp training.
My grandfather said it would be a great idea for me to go to college before taking over as Lycan King. He felt it would help me be a better king. The best part was he had the money to pay for my college funding & said to take as long as I needed & as many courses as possible to be a better king. I graduated from high school 2 years earlier than anyone thought I would. I decided to take online courses so I could still help around the house with things. I spent 8 hours a day working my butt off for 9 years.
I, of course, graduated & have two bachelor's degrees & one Associates degree. I did farming & agriculture as my associate degree. For my first bachelors degree, I added in classes on how to run a business. When it came to my second degree in agriculture, I was able to take classes to be a registered nurse, so if anyone got injured, I would be able to help them. I wanted to get my doctor's degree, but I didn't want to take any more time than I already had. I decided it was time to move up state where I would be the next Lycan King.
I felt it was time to be the Lycan King. I would make sure my sisters were safe and anything else that I needed to take care of. My great-grandfather was going to stay with me for a while until I felt I didn't need him anymore. I knew he would be a great help, because I had a lot to learn. I wanted him around for a while so I could have time to get the hang of what was going to happen as the next Lycan King. I will be Crowned after my 25th birthday.
It was the law and I had two years to learn how to run everything like a proper Lycan king. If my great-grandfather died before then, I would take over, but I was ready to have time to learn how to do the Lycan King potions, so I could do the job effectively and well. I still had not found my mate, but my mother left me a letter to read on my 25th birthday. I really wanted to find my mate now, but I was hoping that the letter would have more answers. I had two years before I could open it, and I was so ready to open it now. I do know that patience is key and that, in time, I will get to open it.
I just prayed to the moon goddess that I would get to know soon who would be my mate. For now, I am grateful to be chosen as the next Lycan King and that my great-grandfather was willing to give up the thrown to me. I was also thankful for all the support from my family. They never once tried to stop me and let me finish everything up especially when I graduated a year early. I was only 17 when I graduated from high school and my sisters were so jealous because they didn't, but even they still enjoyed it. I was happy too, because Alaina and I were able to graduate together, and we got to walk together.
It was so fun getting to do that with her. My sisters planned to come and visit before they left for college. They took a year off before they decided to go to college. Especially Lyra and Axel, because they became mates right away and then several rogues came after my sisters. Lyra had Alaina and I moved to the same school because the other one was giving us both problems. Dad was happy to help with a lot of the transfers. I knew that Alaina was really struggling, so I hoped that when I was done, moving down to our great-grandfather's place to become the next Lycan King that she was going to be OK.
I may be the little brother, but becoming the next Lycan king made me more powerful than anyone would realize. I was having the rest of my big objects being sent here. My great-grandfather did not mind and wanted me to feel at home. Whatever room I picked would be my room forever and my great-grandfather would stay nearby till I learned the ropes. Everyone from the northern lands, werewolf family-wise, would be here if they could when I turned 25 and was crowned Lycan king. As the days grew longer and winter set in, the air got colder, but my great-grandfather and I still kept our training going, boarder control going, hearing out families in need from the werewolf families and glycan families.
Our goal was to make it where no glycan family or werewolf family would struggle ever again, especially if they lost their mate. We had hoped to take any concerns, especially those brought in by Alpha and Luna leaders. We knew a lot of places could not let the Alphas leave or the whole pack leave that often due to rogue issues. This was something I was working on as a goal in hopes that I could make things better for those who went rogue simply because their family did not want them anymore. I was hoping a lot of them would be able to join a pack and be taken care of and no longer become rogues. If it was our fault in the beginning to make some of these people become rogues, we need to be the reason why they get fixed.
This was my promise and my goal for anyone who ever wanted help and would accept the help. I had a meeting later on this evening with my great-grandfather to ask him what he felt about this proposal and I made a list of who we would accept and help, and that we would do what we could to make things better for them. Even if that meant helping them move to a better place, or even find a pack to help them. I knew my dad would accept some who needed the help. He lost at least 3 dozen families to rogue attacks, so he wanted to take in those who needed help. I know he took in some people who were single parents who were shunned because they got pregnant by their mates before they were accepted as a mate, were rejected, and then their families severed their ties from them shortly after.
My father was going to be on speakerphone with him so that he knew what I was working on as a goal for the whole northern lands that I would control when I become Lycan King. My father knew some people who would be able to help some of the rogues too. I had all the alphas put a list together of all the people who became rogues, so that way I knew where to place them and the ones that needed and wanted the help. This program would be a great one once it was activated, and all rogues had to go through extensive testing if they were 16 years and older. This is going to ensure that no one lets someone in that could potentially ruin a pack. I knew a few packs that had that happen to, because I had to help fight them off with them. This will be great for all of this though.
