6. Who is Zeus?

Nathaniel’s POV

I woke up feeling the tingles all over my body, my lungs filled with the most intoxicating smell of my mate. Gabriella was still sleeping, her head on my chest, our legs intertwined and my arms holding her body close to mine. I sent a silent prayer to thank the Moon Goddess, I couldn’t have been happier. I feel complete and excited about building our future together. My love, my soul, my Luna.

I kissed Grabriella’s head and felt her stir. She looked up at me with sleepy eyes and smiled brightly at me. Her smile pasted one on my lips too.

“Good morning, my Gabriella.”

“Good morning, Nate” , her voice still sleepy. I couldn’t resist this beauty any longer. I rolled us over and kissed her. My member was already hard and I could smell her arousal. She deepened the kiss hungrily, my hands roaming her body.

I trailed kisses down her jaw, her ear and then sucked on my mark on her delicious neck. That made her c*m instantly. 

“I want to feel you inside me, Alpha” she said seductively and I had no other choice but to obey. I entered her wet, tight p***y in one go and that made both of us grunt in pleasure. I thrust into her faster, our eyes locked. Looking at her gorgeous face and listening to her angelic moans, I knew I wouldn’t last much longer.

I felt my canines elongate, I leaned down and bit her mark. She bit mine at the same time and we both came undone hard. I collapsed on the bed next to my Gabriella, both of us panting.

“Let’s have a shower”, she said with the most seductive smile on her face. 

We got up and went to the bathroom. After an hour-long passionate hot shower, we ordered room service to have some breakfast and laid down to sleep some more.

After we woke up and another love-making session and a long shower, we decided it was finally time to go back home. 

“I want you to move into my room tonight, Gabriella. I don’t think I will ever be able to sleep without you.”

“I can start packing as soon as we are home” she smiled at me happily. 

The drive back home wasn’t more than 20 minutes. As soon as we went into the packhouse we headed to Gabriella’s room so we could move her things to my room. 

Half of her things were already loaded in boxes and I was ready to start moving them up when I received a mindlink from my dad.

“Nathaniel, come to my office, please. Bring Gabriella, too”

“Dad wants us to go to his office. He sounded worried.” I told Gabriella. She stopped what she was doing and we hurried to the Alpha’s office. 

We went in without knocking and sat on the guest chairs in front of his desk. His face showed worry and distress.

“What’s going on, dad?” I asked.

“I am not sure. The mission I went on was successful but I can still feel something is wrong. I feel distress all around the packs and my wolf can’t connect with the Moon Goddess”

“Dad, why would Zeus need to talk to Selene? And why would she reply?” I asked confused. My father sighed.

“I never meant to keep this a secret from you, son, but I was sworn to secrecy by the supernatural council. Zeus is a special wolf. He is Selene’s most trusted warrior. She sent him to me to help us with something but we don’t know what and she couldn’t tell us’”. My father tried to explain but this just made me more confused. He sighed again, not knowing how to explain.

Gabriella squeezed my hand, making me look at her beautiful face.

“Every God has unique abilities and responsibilities that come with them. Selene’s gifts are premonition, healing, soul-matching and rebirth. Her premonitions help her guide her children - the werewolves and other shifters, and she works closely with the Fates. She can heal someone only when the moon is full and she can grant rebirth only to those very special souls who had to suffer too much in their previous life or lives in hopes of granting them a happy lifetime. She is also responsible for our wolf-souls rebirth. Our wolf-halves never die, they are always rebirthed but when and where is Selene’s choice. The human soul-rebirths she decides with Hades - the God of the underworld.

She decides soul-matches with her brother Helios - the god of the sun and father of fairies, fea, unicorns and other creatures of the light; her sister Eos - the goddess of the dawn and mother of vampires, witches and other magical beings. In order to use her healing powers, she needs to descend down to Earth and leave her immortality temporary which is very dangerous, not only for her but for all the shifters as well. So, instead, she just increases our healing during the full moon. 

Her premonition is the most tricky. She can see the multiple outcomes of the future and she knows what triggers those outcomes but she can only reveal her visions to the Fates. They work together to help create the most balanced future. She can sometimes guide her children but  they have their free will and can decide not to follow her guidance.

I guess you were following Selene’s guidance, you are as her weapon on Earth so to speak, but your connection with her is now broken? Am I right, Alpha?” Gabriella explained and I was in awe. I couldn’t help but feel proud of my mate and blessed that she is mine. 

“Yes, child, you are correct. Selene saw something dark in the future years ago and sent her most trusted warriors to guide our shifter world. One of them is an elder from the council and he formed a team with Slelene’s warriors and with her guidance, we executed different missions to keep the balance.” my father explained.

“How do you know so much about the Gods?” I asked Gabriella, still impressed with the volume of her knowledge.

“I like to read a lot,” she shrugged her shoulders. My dad cleared his throat.

“After every successful mission Selene blesses us which makes us feel calm, complete, relaxed and at peace. But this time I did not feel her blessings even though the mission was successful. Instead, we feel uneasy and on edge and I am sure something is wrong. Something bad is going to happen.”

“How can we help, Alpha?” Gabriella asked.

“I don’t know, really. I can’t contact Selene, nor the elder, nor the others from our team. We don’t know each

other, our identities are hidden to protect ourselves and our loved ones. I guess the best you can do is increase your training for now and be prepared for battle. I pray I am wrong” dad said with worry in his voice.

We both nodded and were ready to leave the office when we received a distressed mindlink from a warrior.

“Alphas, a huge group of rogues are attacking us at the border. We need help”
