First day

***PENELOPE’S P.O.V***

This is my first day of college. I am happy that I am here. I was just in the orphanage for those years, but now finally I have got this chance to be here to be a part of the world that I want to be in.

I smiled at it as I went there. I put down my stuff in the room and then made my way to the college. Ragging was going on. One name Tatia looked at me and then called me.

“Okay, so you sing a song okay and not do a good one like you like to sing some sensual song, okay did you get that?” She said, then I looked at her and then I just looked around.

“What are you looking at? Just sing it, commonly do it.” She said it, then I saw a pair of eyes and then I sang it.

I sang it and everyone there liked it. “ cool, whatever you can go now. By the way, what was your name?”

“Penelope.”

“I don’t think, Tatia, that you should be thinking about her name. The one thing you should be thinking about is it should be for yourself. It made you understand you have still not completed college? Still in the last Semester. God shame on you.”

So she is not just a senior, she is whatever I should just ignore it at all. I smiled at the girl. I don’t know who she is, but she stopped up. For me, no one would have done that.

“Hello, I am Myra and I do know your name, Penelope. You have a beautiful voice and you know what you don’t think about those bimbos. They are useless and don’t have any work to do, so they just keep on doing this.”

“Thanks.”

“So you and I looking at a fine table is the same as destiny wants us to be tight. Don’t worry, okay, I am straight now. At least I have got someone to be with at college.”

I said and then I just smiled at her. “Yeah, I am also happy. I thought that it was gonna be tough to make friends here, but look, I just got one.”

I am very happy that I have got a friend like her. She is just a very good human being. “Okay, so you are from here like properly.”

“No, I came here for studies,” I said.

“So where does your family stay, like your hometown?” I actually don’t have a family. I lived in an orphanage. I got admission here on a scholarship.

“Oh my god I just can’t believe that I like that. By the way, I mean, my father will be so proud of you that you are so intelligent and, look here, I am. I never ever got a single medal in my life.”

“But you are very sweet”. I said and then we, made our way to the classroom. The teacher came and then she looked at me.

“So all of you you will be very glad to know that in between us there is a student who is here on a 100% scholarship. Penelope has come here.” I got up from my seat and then went there. Myra started to clap for me.

“So this is Penelope. She got admission here on a 100% scholarship. I want you to all take some inspiration from her, Tatia. I would like it if you would also take some from her.”

“Thanks mam.” Mam Said and then I made my way. Back to my seat, I looked at Myra and then I felt a pair of eyes on me. I didn’t know who this guy was.

The class went over and then he came to us and said “Heklo, I am Blair and I am impressed. By you.”

Myra laughed at that. “Hi”.

“Common Blair, don’t flirt with her. She is not like your bimbos.” She said with a laugh.

“No, I don’t care about that, okay Myra, so what are your plans after college?”

“Nothing just gonna go back to hostel.” I smiled at him and then I told him.

“No way you are coming with us. We are gonna do some adventure activities. Just do that, come with us please.” Myra said, no, I just can’t come with her. No, I can’t do that. I don’t have that thing to let that happen this way.

I just don’t get how to do it. No, I can’t afford it and I should know this. “I am sorry but I am not in. A mood I am not coming sorry.”

Myra came to me and then said “Look relax, come back please, I am with you. It will be fun, please, please, please.”

“Please please please.” They both said and then I just nodded at her.

We went there on Blair and Myra’s bike.

As we reached there, I was shocked. No way. Myra took the tickets and then she came to us. Tatia was also there.

“You know, Blair, I am so happy that we will do this together.”

She said while smiling at him, I was about to give money to Myra when she refused it, “charity case forget it.”

I said it and then I went there with Myra. She gave a token to me and one to Blair, “Now enjoy my boy.”

What but this was Tatia. How come it could change? She winked at me, then I started to get down the mountain with the help of a rope with Blair.

I was looking at him with a smile on my face when the rope started to lose. I fell a bit down and then it just broke. “Ahhhhh.”

I shouted, but then nothing was there. I closed my eyes. Fearing that now I was going to die, but no. I didn’t. I opened my eyes and I just saw a pair of eyes. I was in someone’s arms.

“Who are you?” I asked him but he didn’t say anything at all. Why he was acting like that I just don’t get that at all.

He didn’t say anything, he just left me there. He didn’t say anything. I don’t know who we have but he just saved my life. I want to see his face and I want to know who he is, because it was like someone came from the air and just helped me in his arms, like never even let anything happen to me.

I was just there on the ground when Myra and Blair came. “ Hey, are you okay? Wait a sec and you are absolutely fine. I thought that some of your bones would be broken by just looking at you girl. You are absolutely fine. How did this miracle happen?”

I smiled at her & I got up from the ground. I was just thinking about that guy. I just don’t know what it was, but taking a is definitely something.

“Wait a second, Myra. What are you talking about? You should be happy that nothing happened to her. We only brought her here on the first day of our college and just look at what we have done. Thank God that she had just half of the scratches.”

“Yes you are right now. You are going home with me. I know mom is going to scold me but it’s alright, I will manage that and come, let’s go.”

“No. I am good. I want to go to the hostel. The warden would shout and would not allow me to do that”. I said, and then" I didn’t want to go, but then she said

“Ohh about the warden. Just don’t worry about that. Okay, Dad will talk to her but definitely, I am going to get scolded by mom for this. Just look at yourself how hurt you are. You are so sorry.”

She was not saying it, she was just making it happen to me like I have to come and I agreed with her.

“Okay cool then.” I went to her home, sitting on her bike. It’s quite big.

I got off her bike and then went inside with her.

Her mom came and then she looked at her and then at me, “Where were you and who is this beautiful girl waiting for what has happened to her?”

Her mom immediately made me sit on the couch and then started to do the first aid. “Aunty, I am good, it’s nothing.”

“How come this is nothing? Just look at this. Oh god, I am for sure that my dear Myra is behind it or another way. You just tell me what you are both doing and how you are so much hurt, Myra tells me.”

She asked her, or I say she shouted at her, because of me, and here she was just laughing,

“Mom, we went for an adventure activity so I took her there but her rope got broken so she fell.”

“Oh my god. I am glad that she is fine and thank god that you brought her here. You did a great job by bringing her here and I don’t worry, okay, I will take good care of you if you get that.”

Her mom said it just filled my eyes with tears. I didn’t have this sort of love and joy in a lot of love. Here I am getting it all.

I took a. He breathed and then I smiled at her breathing. She is for sure the best.

“Thank you, aunty.”

“Ohh dear what is it to say thank you for Myra, take her to your room. You rest. I will bring food for you there, okay.” She said that and then I smiled at her.

She is so sweet. I went inside the room with Myra. I was sitting in bed. She put on a Netflix binge.

We were both just chilling and sitting when my aunt came. I looked at her “Hello aunt.”

I said, and then she sat next to me. She gave us the food I tried to eat but was not able to as Badaga was fixed in my hand.

Aunt took the food from my hand and then started to feed me. “Common have it.”

“Mom, I also want to eat from your hand.” Myra said, aunt said.

“No, your hands are fine.” She said and then started to feed me again. It feels so good. I mean that is just great.

“Are you okay?”

“Yes, aunt just got emotional. Mom used to feed me like this.” I told her to wipe my tears and then smiled.

We had our dinner, then she gave me my painkillers and then left. I slept off watching the series. When I woke up, I looked at the fish, I got up and then got ready. I wore Myra’s clothes and then wore them down after waking her up.

“Thank god at least you are here? Is she awake or not?”

“Yes and she is in the bathroom taking a bath.”

“Ohh I forgot, Penelope, he is Myra’s Dad.”

“Hello uncle.” As he turned out, I was shocked. What is he doing he can’t believe this at all. He is here. He is Myra and her father'

“Hello dear, I am glad that you gave us the chance to pay for what she did. She is just a little childish.”

He said," I just can’t believe what I am seeing right now with my eyes. He is here, right in front of me.

No, I have to calm myself, I have to control myself. I can’t loose myself at all, Myra. She is my friend's aunt. She is so sweet. It’s great that he doesn’t know who I am.

“Finally she is here.”

“Good morning Dad.”

“Good morning. Sometimes I feel that you won’t have college or for some time they will be calling me saying that my daughter is so responsible that they are throwing her out.” She laughed at it.

So sweet he is with her. I am happy that at least he is loyal to her.

“Now I think that I should go or I will be late for college.”

“But Penelope, you haven’t even had breakfast yet, usual have you?” Aunt said. I looked at her and then, Myra, no" I have to go.

“No, aunt, thanks for asking, but I should go sorry.” I said. She looked at me and then at Myra.

“Common, I will drop you both at college and there is no problem with getting late for a day.” He said," I don’t want to go with him anywhere.

“Common Penelope, please just stay with me. You go without eating anything. I don't smile like that.” I smiled at her. She is so sweet I just can’t say no to her.

I sat down and had breakfast with them. We all went to college, got out of the car and then made our way to class and were just sitting when a new guy entered with the teacher, who was him. He

“So everyone, he is your new classmate. Devin, from today, he is gonna join you all.” Devin, I can’t take my eyes off him. A man in all black.

Who is he? After class, we all went out when Myra said “Isn’t that Devin weird? I mean just look at him all black who wears clothes like this, hey what happened to you?”

She asks me “Nlthubg just wondering about that guy Devin, he is weird and different than others.”

“Yes, that is what I was saying.”

“Pearl.” What is she doing here?

“Wait? Why is she here? Is she repeating her college job? God, that’s so shameful. I mean just look at her.” Chris started to laugh.

“She is not here for that, she is here for drama.”

“Ohh god she has left, but uhh by the way Penelope, you should take part in that.” Myra said. drama. and I. no no. I just can’t do that.

“Sorry Myra, but I can’t do that. Oh, common, you will be the best ordinary. Let’s go.”

She said and then took me there with her. We all went there. Pearl looked at me and smiled. We were all just sitting when Tatia came. “Ohh, Pealr, what is the need of this silly audition? You know that the one who is gonna be here is me. Then why stress yourself out?”

She said, looking at me, “No Tatia, it’s Upto me whom I want.” One by one, we all went for the audition.

My turn came and then I gave the audition. It was almost over when Pealr stood up. The man came from behind her and hugged her. “Who is he?”

I asked Myra, “Ohh Daniel Oh, he is my best boyfriend and my best friend.”

She said and then I looked at him nicely. She was looking so happy with him. “So guys, without any delay, let me tell you the ones who got selected for the roles of Romeo and Juliet are Chris and Penelope.”

I was shocked as I heard I meant I had just been selected for that. I can’t believe this at all.

“Yes girl, you got this.”

“My audition is not yet done.” We all turned around as we turned to the voice of Devin.

“Sorry but you are late.” Pearl says he didn’t say much. Just a minute and then someone came.

“Pearl, why are you not letting him audition?”

“Who are you first of all?”

“I am the new principal and what is the problem with this?” Pearl looked at him with anger in her Pearl

“Sir, we have already taken the auditions and now the Romeo and Juliet’s are final.” That is true. I don’t know why the principal is defending him so much. I mean I just don’t get it at all.

“I don’t know. At least take his audition, then you will know whether it is. He deserves to be better or not.”

But it’s already done. What the system is now, is this man has already bought everything. I mean the principle is also like supporting him. I just can’t believe this.

“Sir, wait Pearl, I understand that you have already taken the audition and everything, but, Pearl, I want to be part of this play, so it will be great that would once you will see the act. Maybe it’s better than the Romeo that you have and the decision is all yours. Whatever you decide, I will respect that.”

He said what he was, Pearl looked at him and then at everyone, “Okay, then I am ready for that to come along.”

She said and then she gave him the script. After a minute. He just read it and then went on the stage. He had different levels of confidence.

He starts to deliver his dialogue and must have to say that it’s good.

He was done with his act when everyone's eyes were just on Pearl. What is she gonna decide whether it is gonna be okay with that or not? Definitely he did a great job, but still, what’s gonna be her reaction?

“So, as I said, that will not be biased, so yeah, Dwvin, you deserve to be Romeo.”

She said," I am shocked. I thought that she would choose Chris but no she didn’t. “God I can’t believe this, that it’s just happening. She but choose him chose Daniel is gonna be angry.”

“I am confused about why he will be angry. I don’t understand at all.” I said, and then I looked at her. What is it? I just don’t get that at all.

“Chris is Daniel’s brother. He is gonna be very very upset.” What instead of that, Pearl chose Devin?

We all just waited and then we all went out. Pearl was with us. “Hey birdy, what were you thinking when you did that? Why did you choose Devin?”

“Because he was deserving.”

“What you know, Chris, is Daniel’s brother Chris. He would not have been upset about your behaviour. You just chose him, God, I thought that you would.”

. Pealr looked frustrated. She looked at me and then at Myra. “I know about it, but I said that I would not do something that would be biased. I know that it might sound weird, but yes, I would have chosen Chris but that would be wrong and I hope that Daniel and Chris will understand me.”

She said she was in a dilemma, but she still chose the one who was deserving. I am happy.

“We do that, Pearl. We know how you are and we will never think that you will ever be wrong. Okay, so just relax and do one more thing. I am going to be a part of it, as I am gonna help you completely.”

“Thanks Chris. I am very lucky that I got you. I never thought that I would have someone like you. Thanks a lot.” She said while hugging Chris. Daniel came and then hugged her.

“I know we are like that only like that and one more thing, just don’t take stress about that at all. Okay, just know this, that we are with you and we are going to be okay.”

He said Daniel was so sweet. If it had been someone else, then they would have blamed her for everything, but he didn’t do that. He said that it’s not her fault she did that right thing.

“I am so happy for you, Pearl. I mean, nowadays, you have someone like him who understands you so much.”

Pearl smiled at me and then said “I know that he is the greatest supporter that I will ever have.”

She said while hugging him, “Yeah and that’s why I feel that she underestimated him. I mean he is so good.”

“Myra come to just relax and it’s fine. I am gonna be there and I will make sure that the act goes perfectly. I will help Penelope.”

Chris said as he came to me. I just smiled at him. I didn’t know what else to say “OK as you wish.”

Chris is for sure sweet he is not like other peoples who get irritated or give up on the stuffs he is a definitely a good guy

“So by the way I was just thinking do you really think that Devin will be able to do it I mean yes he did it ok the audition but does it mean that he will be able to do it today also as in it’s important.”

Myra said “I do think so that’s why I had him I mean he is really nice with all of that things it’s good plus I don’t know anything at all apart from this that’s all that I know let’s see what happens during the practise.”

Pealr said then i and Myra got up for our class I don’t know how I will tolerate him now I just have no ide about it know how he is rude and how he is so mean but I have to tolerate him he is a part of the drmamanow

We were just in our way when she said “So what do you think is he gonna make it or not.”

I looked at her and then said “I honestly don’t have any ide at all I just know that we have to work that’s all.”

“Ohh god I forgot about it it’s okay just don’t worry about anything okay just know that I am here if he will trouble you then just let me know okay don’t get scared from him at all I am here okay.”

“Thnaks I know that o have a.warrior with me.”

“So Penelope can you please tell me that how you are going to tolerate it I mean that man I know that Chris is understanding but he can also be jealous from both of your closeness.”

I laughed at her as she said it “and what made you think that why he will get jealous.”

“Ohh comon my love you also know this very well that he is going to be jealous and that is absolutely alright I mean if soemone is in love they do that.”

I don’t know what goes on this stupid girls head that she just talks like this

“And what made you think that he is in love with me, we both are just friends that’s it nothing more than that.”

I said and then I kept on walking “comon Penelope atleast don’t lie it from me you also know this very well that, is it I just don’t know at all that why you don’t accept it that yes that he loves you okay if not love than atleast he likes you a lot.”

She said then I stopped on my track and then just looked at her “Myra I don’t know about that for me Chris is just a. Friend that’s it I don’t know anything else but I just know one thing that it’s gonna be fine, whatever it is and if things will go slow then it’s gonna be good.”

I just said it and then I looked at her “Penelope just go with the flow dear don’t stress yourself out please and one more thing stop talking like this I mean this just makes me feel that it’s wrong did you get that.”

I smiled at her “Myra my life is not as simple as yours and Chris I have been brought up in an orphanage my mom died in front I of me I have seen my father betraying her how come u will be normal or okay with everything.”

“Okay I am sorry but you know that I am here.” She said and then I looked at her

“I know Myra it’s just that I don’t know anything I just don’t care about anything at all but I care for you and everyone and I just, want to let you know that I don’t want anything like that.”

“Okay but I just want to say one thing that if you will feel that it’s not good or anything then just let me know okay, but if he comes for you just say yes to him he is a good man.”

I know that Myra . I just don’t care or I just don’t get it anything else the only thing that I know it take care about is that

I have seen my mother crying every single day for that man. I don’t want to be like that to cry for a man to make myself weak

“We both entered inside the class she went and than sit down I was still thinking about it I just don’t know anything at all but at the same time I just don’t get it at all.”

I just said it I don’t get it at all, I just want to know that very well I just don’t understand that anything at all

“What is it tell me one thing, are you just gonna think about it only.”

Myra said then I looked at her “Okay as you wish I will forget it.”

I just don’t know about anything at all I just don’t know but this just stress “It’s okay just forget it now.”

We both attended the classes and then I went over there we both were sitting in and then went for my drama practise

I went there and then I looked at him he was there with Pearl and then I looked at hwr “ohh hello Penelope so how are you.”

“I am absolutely fine look now I am waking perfectly.”

“Good I am happy that you are gonna do this I just want to know that, things will be great now I am happy Dwvin is also here and you are also tomorrow we have a big day now I just want that you will do the rest of the work that is left Penelope you both are the only one that is for me.”

Pearl said and then I looked at her, “Don’t worry at all about anything everything is just going to be fine .”

“I will try my best.” We both did our final practise and then I was all ready

I just don’t know about anything at all I just don’t get it at all “What is it, tell me.”

Pealr asked me we both were just doing our work and then we’re just doing it when it was done our finalpractise for the drama is also done

We both get down of the stage and now we both are good and happy with everything that has to be like that, “i am so happy with whatever it is I am very happy and grateful for that.”

She just said that and then looked at me “Yes definitely I just want to let you know that it’s all because you have been sipportinv us all the gimbal.”

“No I have just guided it’s you two who had done this and I am extremely proud of you thank you so much Devin I didn’t thought that, way I just know one thing that everything is just going to be okay and fine now I am glad of that.”

She said and then hugged us I am very happy that she is happy now I am more than satisfied with everything that has happened

I was just smile at Pearl when he just went and then, I looked at Pealr “I will come you in a while.”

I just said it and then I looked at her “Okay cool.”

“I am grateful that I chose Devin I mean iamhappy.”
