The Alpha stretched out a hand and gestured to a seat “please Marren, have a seat. We have much to discuss.”

I came into the room and sat at the chair that he gestured to and asked “what would you like to talk about, sir? And will the rest of the unit be joining us soon?”

he laughed slightly and said “No, but 1 other person will be on their way down soon.”

I nodded and said “oh, your Luna, i assume yes?”

he smiled and shook his head “No, but i know why you’d think that.”

I was confused. Why wouldn’t his Luna be here. I tried to steal my previous alpha from their Luna. Then, a knock at the door took me from my thoughts.

“Please, come in” the Alpha said.

When the door opened, at first I didn’t turn around, but first i heard the footsteps and then I smelt him. I grew ridged. Adn then he spoke.

“Thank you, Alpha Nathan.” My father said.

I turned around quickly, eyes wide in astonishment, “DAD?!?” I practically yelled. “What, what are you doing here? Were you and mom banished, too?” I looked behind him to see if mom was behind him.

My dad laughed a laugh I hadn’t heard in years, i looked at him, confused. “Why at you here, dad? What’s going on?”

My dad looked to have tears in his eyes as he looked at me. It was almost like he was looking for something. He looked away from me, but it looked like he didn’t want to, and he proceeded to ask the Alpha.

“May i have a seat, Alpha Nathan?”

“Yes, please do” Alpha Nathan said, gesturing to the seat next to me.

my dad came around and sat in the seat with a smile on his face and proceeded to look at me . Then he said “It’s so good to see the light in you again.”

The light in me again??? What does that even mean??

I couldn’t take it anymore “im sorry” i stood up “what is happening right now. I need answers” I looked between my father and Alpha Nathan “and i need them now.”

“Please Marren, please sit. I’m going to tell you everything I promise. Just sit, honey.” My dad cooed. I looked at Alpha Nathan.

“Marren, I know this is shocking to you, but your father has come a long way. He is the one that called up about a day before you arrived and told us you’d be coming. He told us to leave a scent trail from the city to the pack for you to follow. We knew you’d be coming because of him. We kept you safe because of him. Didn’t you find it weird that you could smell rogue wolves but didn’t see any?” Alpha Nathan asked me.

I thought for a moment. It was true. I hadn’t seen any wolves this whole time. Not in all of these months.

“Marren, i need to tell you about your race. What you did at the pack wasn’t your fault but something you needed to go through. I’m here to train you in your Unseelie magic.”

“Magic?” My wolf Anissa asked “what does he mean by magic? We don’t have magic?”

“I know” i agreed. We had never shown any signs of magic ever. Not even when we shifted for the first time. I had tried it, and I had tried to use the magic that i had seen my dad use. I had done the moves, the same as him, said the words same as him. Nothing ever happened.

“Marren, have you heard this voice in your head? It sounds like you. It gives you ideas and evil ideas. Often, it's mistaken for your conscience.” My dad asks me

I look at him. And slowly take my seat again. “Yes?” I say tentatively. “Where are you going with this?”

“I thought so. When we Unseelie become 13, much like a shifter, a change comes over us. The light leaves us. And the darkness of the ancient seeps in. It will hint to you to do unspeakable things. Dark evil things. Each time you fulfill this desire, your inner magic grows.”

“My magic grows?” I ask “then why don’t i have magic?”

“think of this growing like a vessel. You must first create the jar to hold the magic inside you before you can have magic. Other magical creatures are born with this vessel already, but Unseelie must make it themselves. The more evil your acts the bigger the vessel.”

“why didn’t you tell me this before dad” i asked.

“because the evil must come from within. It sucks, I know, but in the fey wilds, any new made Unseelie that knows of this never grows the vessel. Once you have grown the vessel, doing the evil acts and judgment has been passed down, an Unseelie can begin to say no to the evil inside. At this point, our magic comes into play. Unseelie magic is known as dark magic because of how we have to get it, not because it is dark. Now, this doesn’t mean that we can’t use dark magic. it's just not inherently dark. Is this making since?”

“kind of. It all seems like bullshit dad. It sounds like an excuse for why you essentially abandoned me.” I say with a scoff. “ prove it. Teach me some magic if i suddenly have it.”

“Alright, Alpha Nathan, may we do it here?” My father asks while standing.

“Of course, no problem.” Says Alpha Nathan as he sits back in his chair to watch.

“Marren, please stand” my dad says, facing me. I stand like he asks.

“Now, repeat, father me. Be sure to move your hands like me too” my father stands next to me and positions my legs slightly bent with one in front of the other, brings my left arm up and strait our in front of me with 2 fingers up and the other the same.

“Repeat after me” He begins to move his right hand in a circle and says “Ego iubeo lucem” and a ball of light forms in front of him.

I roll my eyes, but do it anyway. I move my right hand in a circle and say “Ego iubeo lucem” and a ball of light forms in front of me.
