4 Jake At least they’d been given a quiet booth in a corner at Murphy’s Pub. That way, he didn’t have to worry about anyone listening to their conversation. And he needed a drink. Once their waitress had set a Guinness in front of him and a glass of hard cider in front of Addie, Jake pulled out the pieces of paper she’d given him and set them down on the table, smoothing the creases from being folded up in his pocket.
