Joanna had brought a bottle of cabernet with her, obviously trying to make this look at least a little like a social call. But as soon as she gave the bottle to Jake as they stood by the dining room table, she said crisply, “Let me see this spell you told me about.”
Addie handed over the email she’d printed off from her laptop. “I don’t know the first thing about spells,” she confessed. “I didn’t even realize that was really a thing with witches.”
“It can be,” Joanna replied, dark eyes scanning the few brief lines on the piece of printer paper. “It depends on the clan, and the witch or warlock in question.
