"I'm sorry, what did you just call me?" Blair asked Violet. "Okay, not exactly Princess Anne but more like princess Danielle. Apparently that is your name here." Blair gave Violet a look that clearly said that she was still completely lost. "Well, funny story, it seems like we have somehow travelled to the past. Either that or we are now in your novel because get this... I heard that you are supposed to get married to King Cahir of the Vikings tomorrow morning." Violet told the blonde. Blair stared at the other blankly for a few seconds before... "Now I know this is a prank. Very funny, Vi. Now, excuse me I need to get to class." She deadpanned going right out of the room into the corridor of a palace. Blair paused to take in this new information. "Seriously, Vi. What sort of an hospital uses a ancient palace as its theme?" She asked. Violet who was right behind her scoffed "Oh, now it's an hospital? I thought I was the one pulling a prank on you." She replied, her voice laced with sarcasm. "You know what, I just realized that this place is too expensive for you to rent all by yourself just to prank me. I mean, what sort of an expensive joke would that be right?" Blair asked. Violet nodded "Exactly, now if you would listen to... " "Princess Danielle, what are you doing out here? You should be in bed resting up for your wedding ceremony tomorrow." A woman, in what Blair thought was a super stiff costume and her hair held in a tight bun, came up to them and scolded Blair lightly. Then in a stern voice, she addressed Violet. "Take the princess to her room and make sure she has her beauty sleep." Blair gaped at the woman who seemed to be taking her job super serious. "I... I really think you are mistaken. I don't know this Princess Danielle you are looking for. My name is Blair Perkins and I'm a student of nursing in..." The older woman gave her a sad look and shook her head mumbling "Poor girl, you must have hit your head harder than we thought." "I swear it, I know what I am saying..." Blair glanced at Violet for some support. Vi shrugged her shoulders at her friend as if to say "Hey, I already gave you an heads-up but you did not believe me." "I realize how undesirable and shocking it was to hear that you are to be married to the king of those... Ugh, barbarians, but it is your duty as a Christian daughter and princess to follow your father's instructions and do what is right for the kingdom." Okay that was it, Blair had had enough of the whole expensive joke thing. Sure, she gave the prankster top points for cast, location and props but she wasn't feeling amused any longer. "Christian daughter my ass..." Blair muttered. "You d-don't understand. I can't get married tomorrow, I... I don't belong here." Blair insisted shoving the 'crazy' woman away and trying to make a run for it. "You leave me no choice princess, guards!" The head of maid called on the nearest security guards and the two men came over to her immediately. "Escort the princess to her room and ensure that she stays there." Blair was shocked beyond words to see the two guards chase after her. She was not much of a runner and knew that they would catch her anyway. Which they did. They took her kicking and screaming back the way she was coming from. The head of maids pointed at Violet, "You stay in the princess's room and make sure she stays there, if she escapes under your watch, you would be sure to face the chief's wrath." Violet nodded and quickly followed the guards as she and Blair were locked up in the room. Blair spent a good five minutes banging on the door and screaming that she was not the princess, then she attempted climbing out of the window but it was too high, too small and well barricaded.. She finally huffed, realizing the futility of her actions and then seemed to remember that Violet was in the same room as her, sitting on the bed and watching her full blown tantrums. Blair gave her roommate an incredulous look. "How can you sit there all calm and s**t while I'm being threatened with an impending marriage?" She asked. "And how has acting out helped you so far?" Violet asked with a yawn. "I already told you to calm down and act rationally but you've done nothing more than bring attention to us and now thanks to you, every possibility of escape is gone... Poof!" Blair looked at Violet like she was crazy "Well excuse me for taking to my heels when I'm being mistaken for some princess and locked up in a room to be married to some historical tyrant." She rubbed on her forehead feeling the start of a migraine. "Hold on, King Cahir isn't even a historical figure, is he? He is just a figment of my imagination, someone I made up in my mind and dreamed of at night..." Violet just shrugged and stared back at Blair. "I know. This is an hallucination. I am hallucinating, or we both are... Whatever..." "Since I'm also here trapped in this room with you, I'm assuming it's the both of us hallucinating." Violet added dryly. "It was the chips, wasn't it?" Blair glared at her. "Don't look at me like that, there has to be a logical explanation why this is happening to me. It's either that or I'm currently in a coma and I have to face my greatest fear, which is a life of marriage to the most villainous character I have ever created to date, Mr Cahir, and viola! I'll wake up safe and sound in the twenty first century where I belong." "But Princess Anne was not supposed to get married to King Cahir in my book. Is Danielle someone else? Is there an actual Princess Anne? Oh gosh ...how did things wind up like this?" Violet shook her head as the other girl kept talking to herself, trying to figure out how to break out of a coma. She instead decided to take the sensible way of familiarizing herself with her current location and then laying down for the night to sleep. She felt asleep to sounds of Blair's theories and plans. ***** Temi Davis was walking past the front of an alley at night when he saw three men, reeking of alcohol and lingering whiffs of nicotine run out of an alley as if a rabid dog was on their heels. He knew exactly what went on in isolated areas like that especially when it is dark and knew that whatever the drunk had been up to, it could not be something good. Instead of racing after the men, knowing that was more often than not futile, he decided to check the alley in case there was someone hurt that required his help in there. An just like he had thought, he saw the unconscious body of a female college student in the alley. Rushing over to her body whilst simultaneously pulling out his phone to call an ambulance, he gave them the direction as well as inform them of all he had seen. Ten minutes later, the paramedics were there to take the body of female, they assured him that she was merely unconscious and asked him to come along. As the blonde's body was lifted, Temi saw a card fall out of her hand. He bent down to pick it and looked at it. It was the membership card for an e-library. On it was the passport photography of the college student. His eyes went straight to her name. "Blair Annabelle Perkins." A/N: Comment and share if you enjoy this chapter
