Episode 3

The two leaders as well as the general were now sitted with wine served to discuss their matters. While the chief of West Creek took a gulp of his own wine, the other two men ignored their goblets. "Henry, I do not have time to waste with pleasantries. I have come to have your clan's alliance and I shall have it by all means, by nook or by crook. Now we can do this the easy way or the hard way." The smallest and oldest man on the table turned beady eyes on the way bigger men, "What is the easy way?" "The easy way like one of men had told you a day ago, is for you to sign allegiance to us." General Vlod was quick to answer knowing how impatient King Cahir got with stupid questions. "And the hard way?" The man asked again. It seemed to the bigger men that he was stalling for time. "War!" Cahir growled out bringing his fist down on the table. "I know what you are doing but whatever help you think your people is going to get from the North kingdom can never be worth it. They can't help you! The North Kingdom would have to send all their soldiers and chariots to even be able to challenge me." "As you can see, your kingdom is but a little hamlet, the North Kingdom is not going to ruin their security just for your sake. Your best option is to sign theses papers." Vlod told the Chief in his cool as cucumbers voice. They need not yell to send fear into people's hearts and Chief Henry of West Creek was not an exemption. He was but a human anyway and he could instinctively identify that the men before him could kill him in just and heartbeat. The fear was natural. However, Henry gained composure as he thought of something, a thought so appealing that he nearly cheered and he would have if the two giants men weren't glaring him down. Swallowing past the lump in his throat and then clearing it so he does not end up whimpering, Henry raised his beady eyes to their dark gazes, feigning a courage that he did not feel. "T-that doesn't seem to be my only option, Ca... I -I mean, King Cahir." He corrected himself when the other glared at him. "Tell me what options you have, Fifl." Cahir said in a low voice that Vlod recognized as his 'I'm about to lose my s**t and someone is going to pay for it', voice. But of course, the other man merely took it as permission to talk. "To really show that you have no ill intent against me or my village, I demand you take my daughter as your wife and..." "What?" Vlod asked not believing his ears or the odacity of the older mortal man who sat across from them. Surely, he heard the man wrong. But judging by how stiff Cahir had gone, he probably heard it right. "...and when I die, you could officially own this village as the king. Isn't that what you want? That way I'm assured that you will not attack my people and I heard your people fancy blondes, my daughter Danielle is as pretty as they come so it is a win win for everybo..." Before Henry could complete his sentence, Cahir had pushed away the heavy mahogany table between them away and leapt at the old man all in the blink of an eye. Cahir's hands were wrapped around the older man's neck before he could escape, instantly making his neck to bulge due to the pressure of Cahir's wide and strong palms. "I have another plan, how about I kill you now and feed your flesh to the sharks, Niđingr?" If there was one thing that Cahir hated the most in the world, it was fathers who did not value their children more than they valued their kingdom. It hit a personal cord for him, hence his inability to control himself. His intentions wasn't to kill him or he could have done that already. He wanted to make the old man taste real fear and possibly know shake him up so the greedy old fool thinks twice before saying his next words. After a few seconds, Cahir let the man go, but not before shoving him to the floor. The man immediately began to breath in greedy gulps of air coughing hard while Vlod came to stand by Cahir to control him if need be. The man sat up on the floor looking at Cahir with insane eyes. "If you kill me, this hamlet will go over to the North Kingdom, I already wrote a letter to King John two days ago and I'm more than certain that he has seen it by now. The only way I can recinde it is if you agree to my demands, King Cahir." The man said the sentence within cough fits but the message was passed across anyway. "He is saying the truth. Our spy gave me a message that a group of messengers left here with a letter to the North Kingdom." Vlod whispered in Cahir's ear. Cahir thought over the issue, if what the fucker was saying is the truth then, there was no way he could get this Creek except by war. He could either take the hard or the easy way. Cahir smirked at the man who was still looking up at them from the floor. "Fine, I'll get married to your daughter." He said before walking to take his seat. Vlod instead approached the old man and bent down as though to help him up but instead he whispered to him. "Do you love your daughter, old man? Because you are just selling her off to suffer." That said, he stood up and sat down beside his King and best friend. "Let's get signing, shall we?" A/N: Shorter? I know. Please bear with me. Next chapter, we would find out what happened to Violet and Blair. Fifl: A stupid person Niđingr: Villain or Vile person.
