The wolves and witches who lived in Haven discovered that they were not. Instead, four Dragons secretly lived on one of the mountainsides while Lycans and wolves were left behind in the human realm.
Packs came together to help those left behind in the human realm, and when they crossed over into Haven, many found their mates. Then, as everyone was getting ready to leave the field, the portal was in the moon goddess showed up.
She announced that others were living in hiding in Haven and that she would be in touch. That was five months ago.
Cora's Point of view
I was lying in a patch of wildflowers in the backyard, trying not to focus on the fact that soon I would have to go to the council hall. I was dreading having to go because today I find out if I get a mate or not.
If I'm not selected to be Jared's mate, I will be put to death in thirty days. I didn't want to die, but without a male to claim as mine, I would go mad and die a slow, painful death. Again, I didn't want to die, but I didn't have a choice.
With my eyes closed, I could feel the wind blowing and the heat from the sun on my body. "Look up." I heard a voice whisper.
I opened my eyes looked into the Sky. I swore I saw a large animal flying through the Sky.
I jumped and began to run towards the direction the flying creature was heading. As I got near the border, I stopped, but I swore I saw the flying creature land.
"Go." The voice said.
I stood there for a moment, thinking if I should listen to this voice. What if the magic used to protect us stopped me from crossing?
No one has crossed the border since we settled here, and if the humans were out there, would I be killed?
"GO!" The voice yelled.
The voice sounded urgent, and I ran for it. I was able to cross over just fine. I looked back and could not see my home. The village was gone and in its place was a forest, and I could see the valley.
I walked towards my home, and as I crossed the barrier, I could see my home again. I walked back over the border and took my sweater off. I dropped it by a tree and began to walk through the forest.
I am not sure how long I was walking for, but I started to hear voices.
I slowly walked up, and I saw four men and one woman. They were talking, but what caught my attention was the water. It was flowing down the land and into a pool of water.
I was admiring the water, but then I heard the people talking.
"Ya, of course. I love it here. I feel so at ease." The girl said.
"Same here." One of the guys said. I watched them walk away from the water, and soon each of the guys turned into a giant flying creature. The girl climbed onto one of the guy's backs, and they took off into the Sky.
"How cool," I said.
I walked over to the pool of water and touched it. It felt just like our water but much colder.
I stayed by the pool of water, touching it and enjoying the beauty of the land. "it's beautiful, isn't it?" A woman's voice said.
I looked in the direction of the voice and saw a woman standing behind me. She had long silver hair and purple eyes.
"Who are you?" I asked.
The woman smiled at me and said, "Selene."
"How are you here? Are there others? What are you?"
The women laughed. "You will soon find out. Time to go home." And she disappeared.
I sat there for several moments, just taking everything in. "Go." The voice said again.
I stood up and began to walk back home. It took me a moment to find my sweater, but I did. I walked back into the barrier and began to walk home.
As I was walking, I started to think about the possibility of other survivors. I needed to tell someone. So I began to run home.
As I walked in the door, my mom was crying, and my dad was holding her.
"What happened?" I asked.
"Honey, the council choose Pepper." My father said, and my mom began to sob more.
I walked over to my mom, and she grabbed me. At that moment, I felt my world shatter. I would be dead in thirty days.
Zack's Point of view
Twenty-eight days later
Skylar had her triplets today, and she has asked to see me. So I left my room and began to walk towards the hospital. I could hear the wales of multiple babies as I walked into the hospital room.
Tristan had one baby screaming in his arms while Skylar had two in her arms.
"Looks like you two could use some help."
Skylar looked up at me and smiled. "Can you take Levi?" She asked as she tilted her head towards a baby.
"Um, sure."
I grabbed the baby from her and began to rock him back and forth. First, he was screaming bloody murder, but then he started to calm down.
"How?" Tristan asked.
"Just walk back and forth."
I grabbed the other baby from Skylar and began to sway, and I watched as Zack did the same.
"Congratulations, you two. So I know Levi. What did you decide to name the other two? "
"Elizabeth or Lizzy for short and Trevor," Skylar said.
I walked over and looked at the little girl in arms. "They are beautiful, you guys."
"Thank you," Zack said.
"So you wanted to see me?"
"Before I went into labor, the moon goddess came to see me. She wanted me to tell you it's time. She wants you to go to the dark forest. Beta Joe and James are supposed to go with you."
"I will get together with the guy in a few days, and we can make a plan."
Skylar was shaking her head and then said, "She said you must leave tomorrow."
