chapter 11

I woke up in the middle of them. they were both sound asleep. they looked so beautiful and content. my bed isn't big enough for the three of us to sleep in, so we made a make shift bed on the floor in the living room. with pillows, couch cushions, and blankets. I slid out from between them. tip toeing to my bedroom to grab my phone and a shirt. went to the bathroom and locked the door. I sent out the money to the people who set up my life for me and an with an SOS text to their contact number. so I'll get my stuff in the mail tomorrow now. I just have to be here one more day. I looked at the time. it's 8 pm, opening the door and peaking out. I hear the soft sounds of them still sleeping. I'm so nervous, but I have to check on her. I dial my mom's secret cell phone number. we have kept in contact since I left. but only on this number and only two or three so it can't be traced. she turns the phone on between 7pm and 11pm every day, so when I feel safe, I can call home. "Hello." she picks up after the second ring. "Hey," I whisper. "OH! baby, are you alright?" she asks nervously. "Yeah, for now. did he notice?" she was quiet for a moment. "The pack has been buzzing about it. we all felt it. what happened? you've been so careful. I was afraid something horrible happened. Why else would you pull on the pack bonds like that." "No, it was stupid, and I lost my temper. I didn't even realize I did it till it was over. I really f*cked up mom." I started to tear up. "Shh, it's OK, baby. you just gotta run real fast. get out as soon as you can before he tracks the bond to where you are." "I'm cloaked again. but I sent out the SOS. I'll be leaving in twenty-four hours." "Good, I love you, baby." she said quietly. "Love you too, mom." and I hung up. broke my phone in half and stuck it in the back of the toilet tank. when I opened the bathroom, they were both standing outside the door leaning on the wall. I looked down at the floor while they waited for me to say something. "I'm going to go pack, I'm not sure how much you heard. but I'll be gone tomorrow night." Uriah was raiding anger, "Why won't you talk to us? we are your mates." "I rejected you, remember. this has nothing to do with you, and you are both Alphas. I can't jeopardize your pack. and you shouldn't jeopardize your pack for someone you just met." Josiah slammed his fist into the wall, putting a pretty big hole in it. Then, he punched it some more, making a very big whole. I just stood there in shock. He then got in my face, the anger still there, and his wolf fighting for control. "Tell us what is going on!?" I stared him in the eyes, "It does not concern you or your pack." "F*ck the pack, they can not stop me from being with my Mate." maybe if I piss him off enough, he will leave, and I can run away, protecting them both. "I am not your mate. You are just some guys that I f*cked. you are not the first, and you will not be the last. we are threw get it through that thick skull of yours." "No other man will ever f*ck you again. you are mine. we are not threw. Now tell me what is going on! as your Alpha, I command you!" "You are not my alpha. You are an alpha. but not mine. I do not have to tell you anything." "Why do you have to be so stubborn." he roared. "Why do you care what happens to me?" "Because we love you. you're our mate. despite what you are trying to convince all of us. including yourself, that we aren't Mates. We want to help you. whatever it is." Uriah said, trying to calm everyone down. "What could be so bad that you can't trust us?" Josiah said, almost sounding almost broken. "why would I trust you, I just met you?" "We have done nothing but except you. since we met. You fought to claim us as yours. now you want to just leave. Just like that? like none of that mattered?" Uriah was starting to yell again. "Yes! fighting for you is what caused me to have to leave. that little wh*re of yours pushed me to far, and now I have to leave! before he comes here!" I got louder and louder as I spoke. There was a knock at the door, and we all stopped to look at it. if he was here already, he wouldn't be knocking on the door. I told myself. I slowly started to walk to the door to open it. they knocked again, "Miss Williams. it's the police, open up, please." I took a deep sniff of the air. they were both human. I opened the door and smiled at the two police officers standing on the other side. both of them are male. One was in his late forties with salt and peppered hair. and the other looked like he was in his mid twenties. they looked me over and looked a little embarrassed at me for a moment before regaining their composer. then I realized I was just in a t-shirt. "Hi, officers. What seems to be the problem?" "we got a call about possible domestic violence. we could also hear you yelling all the way down the hall. is everything alright, miss?" said the older one. I got a little stuck on words for a moment, but Uriah walked up behind me. "Sorry, officers, we didn't mean to make anyone worried. fighting for us is like foreplay. we didn't mean to make anyone worried." the officer looked at him concerningly. "Miss, are you safe?" this could be my way out. I could hide at the police station. I looked back at Uriah, and he saw the thought cross my face. He pleaded with me with his eyes not to do it. "No officers, I'm not safe here." I said it while not breaking eye contact with him. "Sir, we are going to need you to take a step back from her." the younger one said. Uriah dropped his head and sat on the couch. The younger police officer stood next to him to keep him away from me. "Miss, go grab some clothes. We will be right here. and we can give you a ride to the station." said the older one. he followed me to the middle of the hallway where the whole in the wall was. "Sir, did you do this?" "No." he responded with so much defeat in his voice. I went to the bedroom, and Josiah was sitting on my bed. he looked up at me with wo much hurt in his eyes. like I just broke him. I barely looked at him while I put on some leggings, not sure if they were clean or not, and grabbed my ratty book bag. as I got to the door to leave the room, "Sorry." I whispered, "I have to." "Please, let us help." he whispered back. and I walked out. the police officers followed me out to make sure Uriah didn't follow me. he didn't, neither one of them did. when we got to the cop car, the younger one opened the back seat for me. and watched me sit down before shutting the door. there was so much pity in his eyes. he shut the door, and the older one pulled away. I cried silently in the back.
