"Come on, darling, let's get you home." I have my arm around Hadley, hurrying out from the hospital. Luckily, there is no damage done; she just needs to relax for a couple of days.
"Thanks, Zayan, for staying with me and holding my hand the whole time." She kinda leans into me.
I tighten my grip on her a bit. "My pleasure, bubbles."
"I still can't believe he snapped like that. I mean, I knew he was a jerk, I guess it comes with being demon spawn... but he never physically hurt me before... Not like this, at least." Her voice is shaking slightly.
"Don't think about it, darling, he will never hurt you again." I press a kiss to the top of her head. Then my phone starts buzzing, and I pull it out. "It's Thiago; I better pick it up."
