Prologue A Call From Fate

"Now, I'll exchange the scent of the two girls, and fate will also exchange their mates. Daisy, you'll get away from wars and avoid walking into that endless abyss." The witch lowered her head and saw the two sleeping girls in front of her. Under her magic, the two children slept more peacefully than ever before, undisturbed by anything. The witch's old hands held Daisy's little face. Daisy’s smile and the time to time giggle showed that she must be in a sweet dream. The witch slowly approached Daisy with teary eyes and gently kissed her cheek. She wiped her dropped tears from Daisy's face and turned to Margaret next to her. "Margaret, oh my poor child. I am so sorry, but I had to do it. Your fate will be rewritten, but I am sure that your mate will love you so much that he’ll spend his life accompanying you, even if he may go to hell! I don't mean to steal your life. Oh, my mighty God! Please forgive me! Let me do one last thing for this child!" The witch went back from the bed. She took a deep breath, closed her eyes, lowered her head, and mouthed a silent incantation, which awakened all the creatures—the elves were out en masse, the crows wailed on the roofs, and a dragon accompanied by lightning raced over the pack—except for werewolves. The fate of the two girls, Daisy and Margaret, were also quietly exchanged during their unconscious time, so were their mates.
