"How was the distribution of the relief goods, Erika? Did it go well?" David asked smiling as he entered my office. We just got back to the city last night. The village chief requested that we extend a few hours because they prepared a simple show to thank us. So it was late afternoon when we left their place and reached our houses late at night.
No one knew that something bad almost happened to me because Charles and I kept it a secret. We didn't even have a chance to talk because he didn't sit next to me. I know he did it on purpose. But I just shrugged my shoulders. If he doesn't want to sit next to me, so be it.
