“I didn’t mean it was a bad idea, Zev, I just—” “Guys?” Cor spoke up from behind, nodding her head down the hall. They turned to find that Alistair had wandered up the basement stairs without them. They found Alistair outside the smashed-out front windows, standing in the middle of a small snowdrift, a thin veil of white already coating her hair and shoulders. She walked out of view of the windows, heading north. Zev and Veronica rushed after Alistair, out of the restaurant’s front door. “Wait!
