The day melenie skipped supper was a strange day, mother said she was ill but she was most likely in the woods thats where she always at, doing something stupid. I went to her room to figure out what was the deal and to not a very big suprise she wasnt there. I went strait to mother and father.

"mother, father, melenie was not in her room I could not find her any where."

" oh I told her I would make her some soup and when I didnt I guess she went to the village to get some medicane on her own, you two are almost adults so you will be needing to go to the doctor on your own."

that was a lame excuse from her she knew something. Melenie came back very late that night I decided to wait up for her even when mother said she was fine and would be home soon. When she came in I stood and startled her, she brought out her knife and almost gutted me.

" hey.. hey it just me im not a fish. Where have you been anyway?" I decided to just ask.

"Out. You will beable to find out where soon enough."

and that was it before she went to bed I could have sworn she was covored in blood but it was to dark to tell.

The two weeks after that she was barly home. She didnt even come home last night so I asked mother what was going on and she said " its not my place to tell" so I just went to bed and forgot about it for one night.

The next morning Melenie was making breakfast but she wasnt in her normal attair she was in a ball dress almost like a wedding dress she even wore it to her friends wedding I think.

" ah good morning max listen we are going to have a visitor for breakfast then I will be gone I think till tomorrow so I thought I would make it today."

she seemed really gitty." uh ok what does that have to do with me?"

" well this guest is really improtant hehe and it would be nice if you could dress a little nicley today at least for me, please." she sounded excited and she had a smile on her face so big it looked like she was laughing at something on the inside.

" um, ok sure what kind of an occastion?"

"Uh... a meet and greet its like meeting the king and you want to make a good impretion."

"does mother and father know about this?" I asked kinda anoyed.

" yes they are helping avry get ready, now will you please I would really owe it to you if you go and change."

"yes max dear, go and change this guest has had a very big change to our life expecialy your sister now up you go" my mother came in insisting that I go change.

" fine but im leaving my hair as it is." and with that I left the kitchen I walked up to my room got my good shirt and pants and went back down stairs, but when I walked in to the kitchen no one was there. There was noise coming from out side, I slowly walked to the back door and it was open. They must be on the side of the cottage.

When I finally found them mother father and avry were standing very still and melenie was standing at the edge of the wood talking to who ever I guest was. I walked over to father, he was still standing very still looking past melenie.

"whats up what is she doing?" I asked him.

"She is talking to our guest trying to get him out of the woods." what was all he said, his voice sounded much deeper than mine it sounded amost like as low as thunder. As I was lost in thought I looked up and melenie was walking back towards us backwards, I knew this trick she was going to take two more steps and pretend to trip she always did that to me when we were kids.

And sure enough it worked she pretended to trip and our guest moved like lightning so fast I couldnt see it move. It was a huge wolf that was laying down behind melenie as to protect her from the ground.

"See that was not so hard was it... yes I did that to get you out here. Guys this is makily my guardian." right when the word guardian came out of her mouth I was sent into a memory.

I was twelve and I was snooping which is something I do when I get board and I was looking through mothers trunk when I found an old looking letter. Of course I opened it and read it who wouldnt. After I finished the letter I went searching for the looking glass I could not find it anywhere so I decided to wait till I was around eighteen only six years to go I could wait that long for my guardian it would be huge and beautiful.

"WHAT!!! you why you, are just a stupid little girl who has no idea what she has gotten her self into." I screamed at her. I was walking up to and just then the wolf got up sat down infront of me and growled. " you dare growl at me... IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ME!!" I couldnt handle any more I turned and walked off. I went to my bed room and started to pack I could not stay here knowing that she was a guardian and I wasnt.

" what are you doing?" melenie asked at my door.

" why was it you im the one who found the letter it was me not you why was it you?" I was shouting again and I could hear the wolf growling outside.

" If you keep yelling at me he is going to get mad." she said almost to calm me."now what are you doing?"

"leaving I cant stay here any more." I grapped my bag and pushed past her and left the house for good at least I hope. If I was not a guardian I was going to become one. I only need to find out how.

MELENIE

I tried to run after max but maliky stopped me before I could get close.

What are you doing I have to go after him.

No I dont like the smell of him.

So what you dont trust him because of his smell move maliky I have to talk to him.

no melenie smell he does not smell right he almost smells like aron but stronger.

I smelled my brother and as always makily was right.

Its because he is angry.

and if he is a mage I dont want you hurt.

I stopped trying to get around him then. I turned back towards the house to change into my traveling cloths" I will be right back I need to pack." I knew I shouldnt leave him like that he is always just trying to protect me so I went as fast as I could to pack I got my bow and arrows and my traveling cloths went back outside said good bye to my family, avry was playing with maliky trying to get on his back. They both looked like they were having fun so I told mother about max.

"and he is gone and I have no idea where he went."

"Its alright dear your father needed to go to the city anyway to get you some new traviling cloths ones that will be perfect to ride in all day and night he will look for him there,"

"Alright I will be back some time tomorrow ok."

as I turned around makily gave up to avry and was prancing around like demon does with seline all the time.

Are you refuring me to my younger brother?

Why yes, yes I am you have a problem? I asked with a smile.

I guess not when I have made you upset. Are you ready to go I dont think she will like the trip we will be running the whole time.

Yeah maybe not. " avry maliky and I need to go now."

"aw will he be back this is fun."

"Im sure we can come back soon and give you a ride ok."

"okay fine bye maliky see you soon."

"he says bye back." she gave him a hug and ran back to the house where my mother and father were watching me with happy yet sad eyes. I turned and jumped on to maliky's back and we were off to meet the pack of the rising moon.

We were running for about ten minuets when we ran into the rest of our group we took off together to meet the rest of the family.

"is anyone else about to pee their pants or is it just me?" ryan said with a smile on his face. " from what I heard from ryia you should be terrified melenie."

maliky growled at ryia he sounded upset. " And why should I?"

"Um ryia says if I say she will eat me her self sorry."

what are they talking about makily.

Nothing its nothing we are almost there just enjoy the ride I know you love the wind in your hair.

What ever it was that makily didnt want to share it was important. We ran for about another five minuets before we started to hear the howls. The wolves kicked up in speed. We arrived to a clearing we were at least 20 miles away from any village. As maliky started to slow down so did the others. As we walked the other wolves and their guardians bowed I thought it was just a welcome party.

We must go see tranto first then we can meet who ever you like.

He was quiet the rest of the time as we made our was to what looked like a cave. When we got there, there were elders and young wolves too some looked like a normal sized wolf. We were half way to the back of the cave where a wolf that looked exactly like maliky except the markings on his forhead, now that I think of it no other wolfs didnt either.

In a moment I need you to slide off my back and walk right infront of me and do exacly as I say do you understand?

now sllide off, good now walk infront of me.

I walked slowly to huge wolf I was ten steps away before maliky said to stop, I stopped but then the wolf infront of me started to growl.

Now this is where I need you to do exactly as I say. Go down to the ground slowly, dont look into his eyes... slower.

The huge wolf got up my heart started to pound in my chest it hurt the growl got louder as he stalked towards me.

Lay down on all fours now dont collapse just go down look at his paws not his eyes... good now go down further.

I cant if I do my face will be in dirt.

Just do it...wait dont move just listen to my breaths...in...out...in...out...

the wolf stopped growling and I couldnt hear maliky anymore I was starting to panic when a voice said to get up it sounded like makilys but much deeper.

I was now face to face with the wolf and he did the most unescpteted thing he licked my face he licked all the dirt off, I guess it was a good Idea to pack extra clothes.
