MAX

"well my boy you are getting stronger..." a tree lay in shambles, i looked at the snake about as big as a horse now, it has been about a week when we bonded, and i can feel emence streangth running through my body. the snake told me to call him "claw". he told me that i had great magic and i had to prefect it before we could travle to the wolf pack deep in the moutains so i have been practicing on the trees trying to blow them to peices. i didnt know why i needed to learn this skill but i wasnt going to complain.

after the bond was formed and i could hear his thoughts and he could hear mine he told me that a lot of things were going to change like my strength and my senses, and even my eyes changed from dark brown to black, i could no longer see any white in my eyes anymore.

"thank you claw, now are we ready to leave yet?"

" not yet my boy soon, in fact wolves are coming here as we speak, but they want nothing to do with you. they think that our bond is wrong only wolves should have this ability to bond with a human so they want to come to kill us both, this is why i wanted you to prepare your magic and now i think it will be a good start."

"what are you talking about, what do you mean bonding ability?"

"well long ago many anilmals could bond with you humans even a fish could, but a pack of wolves thought they should be the only ones to have the honor of bonding with the humans and they started to kill off any bonded guardians who were not bonded with a wolf and soon they with the ability died off im and one of the last of my kind to bond with a human and i choose you."

"they wont have they chance to try to kill me or you i will show them that anyone can be a guardian, i dont need to stupid wolf to show i can become a great guardian. you choose the right man for your bond. i will not allow them to continue this chrade of lies any longer, anyone can become a guardian if they wish it!"

"haha, very good my boy. now shall we prepare for our guests."

"yes claw...." the wind started to howl as he raised his hands and brought down ten fully grown trees. "we shall."

Melene

It was chilly that morning when we left my house, when we got to our clearing everyone was quite, including the pair of guardians we were to escort to the other side of the forest, i have never met them but i do recall seeing them when we first travled to the packs hideout.

"hey guys is everyone ready to head out?"

"aw come on melene cant we eat fisrt?" ryan still didnt look happy from yesterday, especially seeing the trackers face to face, " i mean we always eat right when we meet up then get on with the day, we could make it a race to see who can get the biggest animal in the less time, you two up for it or are you two scared little pups."

"ryan! stop it now we dont..."

"no its alright my dear i have never turned way from a challenge yet. just because it is from a beginner does not mean it is a challage non the less... i accept boy." the older tracker said with a smile on his face. " cas and i shall start on the east i asume you want the west, pup?"

"listen up old timer me and ryia are the best on this side of the green river..."

"guys come on... really?"

JUST LEAVE THEM BE MELENE, IT WILL BE FINE... YOU HAVE HALF AN HOUR THEN WE WILL LEAVE WITHOUT YOU AND YOU WILL HAVE TO CATCH UP.

"ha i will start this little race. on your marks, get set... hunt!" selene laughed as the two teams took off.

not even five minutes later cas and latral, walk up with a male moose it looked like it was a task in a half just to pick it up but latral had a smile on his face, " one thing you must learn is no know where the prey is before you start the hunt."

after another five minuets ryan and ryia walk up with a buck a bit bigger than yesterdays. "you have got to be kidding me, where in the hell did you get that?"

"mouth boy there are laides around," he said with a smirk " i suppose we win than lets eat im starved."

ryan was furious, but he sat with ryia across from latral and cas glaring as the meat cooked, when we finished we put out the fire and set on our way.

WELL THAT WAS INTERSTING...

HA YOU COULD SAY THAT AGAIN, MALIKY ARE THEY REALLY THAT GOOD?

THE BEST THERE HAS BEEN IN TWO GENERATIONS, WHY?

WHAT IF IT IS MAX OUT THERE WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO HIM?

WE WILL TAKE HIM TO THE PACK AND GET HIM PROPER TRAINING. IF HE IS STILL ANGRY ABOUT US THEN HE WILL NEED A WAY TO PUSH THAT MAGIC OUT OR IT WILL DISTROY HIM.

for the rest of the day i was silent praying that it wasnt max because i had a feeling that this trip was going to turn into a disaster.

we travled for three days and by the fourth everyone was on edge, there was a town and we were all going to go get supplies while the wolves went and took a look around the forest that surrounded the village. while i went with aron, selene went with ryan. i had asked her to try to get him to lighten up both ryan and ryia were on a short fuse.

aron and i walked threw the market looking for things we might need. all the merchents seemed scared of us, i thought it odd but ignored it since we were strangers here. after ten minuets we decided to turn back and regroup. when we passed a building a girl yelled after us.

"hey excuse me, yes you. do you have a brother? there was a kid here about two, three weeks ago he asked to barrow a book. i told him yes as long as he brought it back and i have not seen him since my father is furious with me, you look just like him... way to much to be a coincidence?"

"did he tell you his name by chance?"

"no but he was really cute, i was really hoping he would come back, and you look just like him..." she looked like she was ready to cry if it was max i might as well pay for the book.

" how much was the book, did you see where he went?"

she pointed towards the woods. after i paid her me and aron went the direction she pointed.

"can i ask what that was about?" aron asked with consern plastered all over his face.

"its nothing just i think my brother might be somewhere close to here." i looked at him to see him looking at me. "what?"

"we might want to go get maliky and aria..."

" they are already coming, what i can feel them..." he looked at me like i was crazy. just when he was about to say something else maliky and aria came running threw.

SOMETHINGS WRONG WE NEED TO GO NOW!!

on the sudden demon with selene come running up. "um ryan just froze and then took off when i found demon he said ryia did the same thing and we cant find cas and latral."

" what is going on has everyone gone crazy?" i asked deeply confused.

WE NEED TO FIND THEM AND LEAVE NOW SOMETHING BIG IS HERE, BIG AND BAD.

when aron and i hoped onto our wolves we heard a howl it sounded like cas was wounded, we all took off. "okay this is what we have been training for you know what to do go!" i told our pack as we took off towards the sound. a mile from the village a huge clearing appeared with burnt trees all over the place some looked like a giant plowed through and pulled them right out of the ground. cas and latral were in the middle of the clearing facing a huge snake, the biggest snake any of us have ever seen.

" maliky run get out of here go run and tell your father what you have seen here now go!!!!" talral looked like he was wounded and cas wasnt moving.

"latral what is going on what is that?" i asked but he could not answer for the snake whipped around to see us but as he did the snakes tail smashed into talral. he went flying. " aron go, selene with me lets kill this thing."

aron and aria went to go to try to heal latral while selene and i circled the beast.

"well, well more play thingsss." the snake could speak!!!

"mmm and if i dont want to leave or parissssh? what then little wolf?"

he could understand maliky what in the world was going on?!? THEN WE WILL TEAR YOU TO PIECES!

"ah but how would you to that when i have a protector ssspell?"

maliky froze... WHAT?

the beast lifted its head and laughed. "come forth my boy ssshow thesse beastss who they are dealing with...." just then someone with a huge cloak walked into the clearing no the person was floating like a foot above the ground.

"you made a mistake coming here with out knowing your enemy." that voice sounded fimilar. " but dont worry we will become very fimiliar well at least i will... with your insides." he started to laugh the same laugh i heard all my life!

"oh my gosh..." it was max but how?" MAX!" i couldnt help but scream. he froze.

"melene?" he stopped for a second but then the snake went on attack mode and knocked me off of maliky we both went flying

MELENE ARE YOU OKAY?

YES OH MY GOSH ITS MAX MALIKY WHAT DO I DO ITS MAX?!?

GO TRY TO TALK TO HIM I WILL GIVE YOU TWO MINUETS THE WE LEAVE!

i took off towards max, he was standing in the exact same place in the same position it was like he was frozen. " max? can you hear me? max please look at me?!?"

he looked up but its wasnt max not really he looked older like he aged five years in a month, and his eyes were no longer the eyes i grew up with. they were black darker than the night sky. he looked at me and smiled then he frowned. " what are you doing here? you shouldnt have come, you and your kind disgust me you will leave this place now." the wind started to pick up and max started to raise his hands i could feel what he was going to do but i didnt want to move. i didnt want to leave my brother with this beast. " i am a guardian now, i am one with claw he has made me a guardian!"

MELENE MOVE NOW HE WILL KILL YOU!

i could feel it but i couldnt i was frozen not by fear but with sadness. how was this my brother. just before he brought his power down on top of me i saw a knife wedged into his leg, he screamed out in pain as did the snake. i look over and selene is off of demon and has another knife ready to fly. " if you are a guardian than i kill you and this snake beast dies with you!" she lets another knife fly and i know where it is aimed for... his throat.

"NO!" but i was to late just before the blade made contact with max's flesh the huge snake wrapped its self around max and screamed and the blade inbedded inside the snake. it screamed and sceamed, it was so loud that i had to cover my ears then i fell to my knees. all of the sudden it stopped, i looked up and where the beast and my brother was standing only a couple feet infront of me was black everything the only thing that was left green was where i was standing like the forest was trying to protect me. but one thing was clear my brother was gone again, and he was in terrible danger.
