My morning was ruined by David. When I dropped him off at school, we were already missing the first period, so I stopped at a coffee shop on the way to get him a coffee to help sober him up.
He’s going to be useless tonight in the game. I know he messed up with Nina, but drinking away his feelings is a little too alarming.
When I pulled into the school parking lot, I texted Andy and Billy to explain the situation. The next class was going to start in about ten minutes.
I got David over to our lockers and just needed to wait until the bell rang without someone asking why we were there.
David slumped back against the lockers, his eyes closed.
