Nina picked me up for school on Monday, and surprisingly, I actually enjoyed the weekend. I spent Saturday with Nina and her mom at their house, and it was a lot of fun. On Sunday, I spent most of the day texting with Shawn. Nothing monumental, just enjoyable little conversations.
But today, as I was getting dressed, I noticed something different. I felt a bit self-conscious about my clothes. Normally, I'm self-conscious about my body, but today it was about my wardrobe. I finally realized what Nina had been saying all along: my clothes are old-fashioned and outdated.
I’m not sure why this realization hit me today. It felt like I woke up and truly saw my wardrobe for what it was, as if I had opened my eyes wide for the first time.
