The golden boy
Ivan was a russian boy but definitely didn't look like a russian boy. He was very tall, slightly tanned and with warm-brown hair. I remember like it was yesterday, all the things that happened from the very beginning. Everything began when he moved into the neighborhood...
It was a sunny day, the type of day I do not really enjoy because of my sensitive eyes. I was coming home from school when he stood in front of me with things he was taking home in his hand. I squinted my eyes trying to figure out if it was someone I knew, but it was so lit by the sun to our right that I only managed to avoid him and leave him behind me without looking back. Before I entered the house which was parallel to his, I decided to look behind, and he was still there, watching me. I stopped, and we continued to look at each other until my cat decided to interrupt us. As the day went by, I did my activities, but my thoughts were constantly on him.
Next morning, he was waiting for me in front of my house. He confessed with rather bad English that he still hadn't learned the language that well, and he asked me to help him as I was the only person of his age that he had seen in the neighborhood so far. The day went exceptionally well, we stayed together non-stop. I laughed at the way he pronounced some words and I taught him a little bit. I invited him to dinner with his parents at my house and everyone was extremely delighted. Our parents were already acting like they were best friends. And just like them, since then, we couldn't be separated even for a day. We went to the country together, we went on vacations together, we simply couldn't live without each other.
As the years passed, we were making plans for college and the future together. We try to do something new or learn something new every day. Both of us only had good grades and a few good friends. We also tried to grow together both physically and mentally, our parents were already preparing for the wedding after we finished high school, so everyone was excited. Although life was not as perfect as it seemed, we never argued. We were talking openly from the first second of the first conversation.
We were both fans of Aleister Crowley, so we liked spirituality, we were fascinated by the planets, but we never exaggerated about these. We used to go to parties every weekend and were therefore always surrounded by people on those days. Our favorite event was a Rave organized in an abandoned train station. We used to get involved in the organization of many concerts in our county and we often got involved in everything related to culture as well as entertainment.
We went to Russia every time we had the opportunity and I liked the country so much that deep in my soul I wanted to live in that place at some point.
