Nightmares.

Ramsey's POV. When he was done showing them to their rooms, he walked back to his large living room & dipped into one of the chairs. His eyes were shaky like that of a scared puppy, and his breath, deep and crooked. It had begun. The demons that once haunted him years ago were back, and it seemed this time they were back with greater force. He landed his hands over his head and aggressively ran them through his hair. With his eyes squinted and his lips caved in, his body caved in itself, he let out a silent shriek. A shriek of hurtful memories, of pain & devastation. But this shriek was accompanied with no tears. Try as hard as he could to form at least a little drop of tear, but all efforts yielded no results. Now he thought to himself, "The Inquisition, the moon, no! I can't go back to my past. Never!!" With that, he got up from his sorrowful slouch, looked straight at the emptiness ahead of him & muttered. "I'll never go back. No matter what". Threading slowly back into his room, he halted & took a long stare at the door to Pandora's. He reached out to the door knob but thought against it and withdrew. He slid his door open & went into a red illuminated room. There was a big red glowing cross at the head of the bed which didn't seem affiliated with the Christian faith. Most of the furniture were made of or fixated with silver, giving a bit of glitter to the space. On the left side of the bed were drawers and cabinets almost towering up to the ceiling. On the right was a single drawer which seemed to be where he kept his everyday carry. As he unbuttoned & undressed, thoughts of what had happened earlier kept buzzing like a swarm of bees. He changed into a dark brown silk nightgown with golden strips at the helms. He dipped into the bed & sighed. "Why? Wh... just why?" Was all he kept repeating to himself. The glowing cross at the head of the bed stood at 2'4ft. It glowed red and had a weird but mild flicker to it. Ramses took a glass of pineapple juice then stared at the cross, he peered into it as if expecting something from it. His eyes glistered & reflected of the room's red illumination & that of the cross. He heaved a deep sigh with his eyes closed & when he opened them, he was with Pandora. The thought of her filled his head & he subconsciously took off his robe in a gesture to lay with her, when he remembered he couldn't. He wasn't a physical object, just a projection. More like a hologram. This realization saddened him as all he could do was watch her sleep. Then in a quick motion, she twitched then opened her eyes to meet his. "Ramses?" She asked. But he did not reply. He was confused. He had a thousand & one replies to that question alone & the same amount of questions to ask. He masked all this confusion up by looking down on her as if she were garbage. "Um.. do you wanna talk?" "Yes. Yes I wanna talk. I wanna talk about everything!" He thought to himself but kept mom. Then he unconsciously sat on a chair which synced with that in her room. His eyes held a certain intensity which she couldn't wrap her mind around. He just sat starring at her while massaging his temple slowly. She repeatedly made efforts to get him talking but all to no avail. The thoughts in his head rioted amongst themselves. He exercised a extreme restraint while seated calmly on the chair. It was too much now. His emotions were going to break him if he kept silent any longer. "Why?" He asked faintly. "Why did you come back? Why? WHY?!" He growled and shut down the portal. His head rocked back violently and a thick roar came out his mouth. His fists clenched & his eyes squinted, his heart was beating violently in his chest as he continued roaring at emptiness. All these but not a single tear dropped from his eyes. It was a curse. He was cursed. He had lost his soul & everything that made a human, human. He was cursed. The rebirth. This was a ceremony held every year by the fallen. Though it was compulsory, the elite ranks could evade it as they wished. With every rebirth came inquisitors. A seven-man council who head and decide whether or not a fallen is to be granted rebirth. They sat on seven thrones in the council hall. He stared at them stubbornly then spoke. "So I've been forsaken huh?" "You forsook us first Ramses. You payed no heed to our warnings, blinded by the ignorance of living a "normal" life among others, you rendered us useless." One inquisitor barked. Ramses's stare didn't falter but his heart did. Behind those cold eyes was guilt. Guilt of so many things unexplored, guilt of the things he could've stopped, the guilt of going against the seven suns (inquisitors). "And now you come to us. After the torments of life, after it's ever deepening wounds, you stand before us. We are displeased with you. But we can't dispose of you. Afterall, you are our child." Another spoke. Ramses bowed his head in guilt & sorrow. His eyes squinted & his lips clasped tightly, he groaned inaudibly. "So what now?" An inquisitor asked. "We send him back." A female inquisitor spoke. "You're our son and you've been forgiven. We're with you, now go." She said with a smile on her face. He looked up to utter another word when he woke up. A dream. They spoke to him through his dream. He looked left & the time on the alarm clock read 10:00 AM. With a deep sigh, he got up and stumbled towards the bathroom. Taking off his robe, he turned on the shower and into it. The water was cold and he winced as the drops came down violently pricking his skin. With that, he brushed his teeth, took care of his hair, put on another robe, then made his way to the steps. With each step he took, a memory flashed right before his very eyes. Upon reaching the living room, he was met with Pandora watching television. Not saying a word, he leaned against the wall and glared at her. Watching her with so much interest as if wanting to devour her. The way she smiled and laughed made his heart soften a little. "I'm a beast". He said to himself. "But her...... her.." As if sensing she was being watched, Pandora turned around to meet the eyes of hell. "Hi". She said simply with a smile on her face. That alone made his heart hurt with every beat. Why? Why would she? She didn't act weird....
