The lights went off and the red thingy they saw before illuminated in the chandelier. The emeralds, glowing and illuminating the whole room in red.
His glossy eyes shone like diamonds in the dark and his jewelries only added to the demon king vibe.
His gaze was straight and unbroken. Staring into the eyes of the one he once held high and close to his heart. A mixture of hatred and mischief consumed what was left of his soul and his eyes conveyed the message well.
"Sit" he said and she sat.
Her POV.
She was well aware of her actions. She was misled and left true love for mere infatuation.
"Never looking back" she had said when she left him in his worst moment. She left for Harry, a 'freshfaced' young lad who was having his first dating experience. He was nice and dumb, very submissive and clingy too. He always gave her attention and she loved that. Not that Pharaoh didn't but he was a bit busy at times.
"You're just so foolish and I don't know why I'm even dating you. It's just i took pity on you and agreed to date you, not that i love you" the words came trickling out of her mouth, piercing harder than spears do to flesh.
She blocked all contact to him and instructed her friends not to give heed to his words of plea. Now she was free and it was just her! And Harry of course.
A month went by and the bond between them began to break. He wasn't all he seemed in the first place and he always mentioned having a thing for different other ladies which put her off.
By the second month, he had lost his virginity thanks to her and began giving a cold shoulder. He'd always exhibit this character around his friends and then apologize to her in private.
By the third month, he practically became harsh and abusive towards her. Always angered by her actions and never hesitated to smack her on the face. Her friends advised her to leave him but she often called it a "little misunderstanding" and that he was just being a bad baby.
By the fourth month, he had stopped seeing her. He neither called nor did her pick up when she did. At the end of the fourth month, he called things off statimg that he was no longer committed to being in a relationship with her. He wished her the best in life then blocked her on all platforms.
Hot tears rolled down her cheeks as she read the message. Her heart clenched and she felt her soul leaving her body. Thoughts, memories, regrets all came flooding into her head and she couldn't help but to shut them out with cigarettes and liquor. "No liquor more problems, more liquor, no problems" she always said.
Three stagnant months in her life. Days and weeks filled with nothing but depressing and suicidal thoughts. She was on the edge now, tilting into death's corner when she picked up her phone and scrolled through old messages.
Messages from friends she pushed away for Harry. Messages of opportunities she left for Harry. Then a group message? Who might that be? She thought.
She tapped on the user and tears came tumbling down.
The hearts, the begs, the epistles of feelings conveyed in those words made her heart sink deeper into oblivion. As she gently scrolled upwards through the texts, reading every message, every line, every syllable, as she went through pictures of him, pictures they took, videos they made, her mind went haywire and she was seconds away from loosing her mind.
But then she thought. Thought of what to do next. Of course she had earlier resolved to celibacy for the rest of her life, a part of her still yearned to be loved and cared for.
"Unblock him? And say what? Hi it's Pandora, your ex who blocked you for some other guy? Nah that's not right" she thought to herself. She quickly went to her contacts and called her best friend, Abby.
"Hey Abby! I need a favour. Do you happen to know where Pharaoh is? Heard he moved out after we split"
"Yeah i do, but why bother about that now?" Abby questioned.
"Look it doesn't matter. Just find out when he's free and take me there. Pleeease!!"
"Okay okay! I will ugh!" Abby groaned.
Pandora put her phone down and began thinking about the "D Day".
"Ok. *inhale, exhale* 'Hey Pharaoh! It's meee, I'm baaaaack!' No that won't work. 'Um.. I'm sorry for how i treated you. I want us back and i promise to be a good girl' Sounds cringe! 'Baby, I'm sorry okay? I never me...."
She was about uttering another word when her phone rang.
"Get your ass here!" Abby shouted on the other end.
"Where? Is he home?" She asked
"Where? Is he home?" Abby mimicked in a mocking voice. "Of course he is"
"Okay" was all she said and she hung up, rushed into the shower, then to her wardrobe. Purple is his favorite colour.... or at least it used to be. Moving swiftly, she got dressed up and set out to neet Abby.
On arrival, she noticed an SUV parked outside Abby's house. There was no time to worry about that as she skipped the doorbell and banged on the gate.
"Geez calm down ugh! Don't bring my damn gate down!" she screamed.
On entering the house, she was met by two other friends of hers, Irene and Ayo. She hugged and greeted them then soon got into "business". They planned out how the whole "operation" was to be carried out and how she, Pandora, was to act.
All was set and they headed for Pharaoh's home with their hearts in their mouths.
On arrival, her friends went in first as planned while she waited in the car for their signal. All alone she pondered on possible outcomes as much as she reminisced on the past. Tears welled up, popping out of her eye bags ready to drop when her friend gestured her to come in.
Excited but shaky, she got out of the car and hurried in. As she approached the room, her steps became unbalanced, her heart felt like it was going to break her ribcage open, and she became sweaty as hell.
But she pulled herself together and walked into the bright room where she was met with eyes from the past.
