The next day at school was a very interesting one.Everyone seemed to be happy. Fender decided to use the golden opportunity and confess his feelings for Tasha.

'' Hey Tasha! you really look happy can I get a hint of what's happening or am I missing something??"

" No Fender you're not.Is just that I have finally accepted the fact that Desmond is not mine because he belongs to Brenda and I can't force him to like me. Maybe what I felt for him was infatuation and not love. I really feel terrible that I did all of those crazy things just to get his attention" Tasha said. It was obvious that she had changed

" Wow am really happy that you have realized your mistakes and have decided to turn a new leaf"

" yeah.All thanks to you"

"me???. what did I do?? Fender asked

" I think you really have impact on my new behavior"

" ok. Tasha there's something I have been wanting to tell you but I didn't really know how to summon courage to do that"

" Really? is it something bad ?? Tasha asked.She wondered what Fender wanted to tell.Had she gotten herself into another trouble?? Her thoughts were shortly interrupted by Fender

" Is not something bad that I want to tell you.But I don't know how you will take but please I don't want it to affect our friendship in any way"

" ok Fender am all ears" Tasha replied curiously

" Tasha I know how ridiculous this may sound but I really like you. I don't want to use love because I don't want to scare you away.But I can't help it.You are always on my mind.I think about you every moment and I can't get you off my head. Please can you help me by giving me the opportunity to make you happy???. Tasha bursted out to laughter. She didn't know if to believe her ears or if she was dreaming.

" What's funny Tasha? am being serious right now.I know am found if joking always but am being serious right now"

" Wow Fender I am perplexed right now.Well, we have being friends for a very long time and we are found of each other but I can't give an answer to what you are asking me for right now.I need some time to think about what you are asking.I don't think this is the right time for us to be involved in any romantic relationship.It is going to really distract us from our studies.Lets just focus on our academics after that anything can follow up"

" No problem Tasha I understand how you feel.I will give you all the time you need" Fender said

" I hope I didn't hurt you in any way"

"No you did not".They closed that particular chapter for that day and pondered on how the exams were going to be.They imagined what they would do after high school and how higher institution would look like.Meanwhile, Brenda and Desmond were engaged in their discussion.They had just finished studying and decided to take a break

" Hey Brenda which higher institution would you like to attend?!!. Desmond asked but he noticed that it took Brenda sometimes before she responded.he was really worried

" Brenda are you sure you are fine?? I hope I didn't annoy you with my question " Desmond asked feeling really concerned

" No Desmond you did not.That question really got me thinking.My parents are not well to do financially but my dream has always been to study outside the country though I know it might not come to pass but am optimistic''

" You are a very intelligent student Brenda.Am very sure that if your result is good enough you will be able to get a scholarship"

" How Desmond?!. That sounds incredible.You know how things work in this part of our world"

" I know.In the company where my dad works, they usually give scholarships to two students who come out excellent in their examination every year. This could be an opportunity for both of us to go to the same school"

" How sure are you that both of us will be selected?

" All we have to do is to study really hard and get good grades.with that,we will be able to apply for the scholarship"

" I have heard you Desmond but I can't put all my eggs in one basket.i don't want to put so much hope in the scholarship so that if it doesn't turn out well, I won't really disappointed"

" I understand how you feel Brenda but don't worry am sure it will turn out well and if you need help with anything,am always here to help you. You deserve a good life."

" Well,what about you if the scholarship does not work out which school would you love to attend.??

" Well I don't really have a school in mind cause I feel like my parents will always make their decision irrespective of my choice after all,they are the ones sponsoring me."

" Look Desmond whatever decision your parents take,it is for your own good and they can never lead you astray."

" Thanks Brenda you really sound like an elder right now. I feel lucky to have a friend like you."

" Thanks Desmond and am really lucky to have a friend like you too.i wish this friendship could last forever"

"it will last forever" Desmond said looking straight into her eyes.Soon afterwards they resumed to their studying.
