Arielle:
It took one day for my whole life to be set ablaze. I had lost both my father and Blake. It was a heavy blow that I was yet to comprehend.
"Move!"
A hand shoved me as my slow pace was becoming annoying to the triplets. I had no more tears to shed, I was now nothing but an empty shell of myself. The brothers should have done me a favor and killed me along with the both of them. Why keep me alive?
I was shoved impatiently again and I nearly tripped on a stone. I didn't know where I was but standing right before me, was a magnificent cream coloured mansion.
A lion head fountain stood in the middle of the road, with an elegant path carved up to meet it. I saw a green encasing the path with flowers scattered around. A sigh stood by a corner,
Silverstone pack.
Silverstone pack? I had heard about them. They were a famous pack known to be led by Alpher Garvin Woods. He was said to be a strict man… preferably put, a disciplinarian and other Alpha's respected him.
I was dragged into the building, made to stand in a fancy looking living room. A man sat on the stairs with graying hair and all heads bowed, including mine. He didn't need any introduction, his aura said it all. He was Alpha Garvin Woods in the flesh and judging by the dark look that was settled on me, I knew what was coming my way–pure unbridled hatred.
"So you're Richmond's daughter. When my sons told me he had something he cared so much about, I couldn't believe it." His tone was too calm as he pushed himself to his feet, descending down the rest of the stairs with eyes still on me.
"He was very popular in the underworld but he made the worst mistake when he agreed to take a hit on my family. It's sad that you'd be left to bear the brunt of his actions."
He approached me with menacing steps, "you'd beg for death but I will not give it to you. Your life would be made worse than a living hell. You, my dear child, would be the lowliest of scum here, a doormat for all to use. You'd have no right, no opinion nor say."
My body shivered when he ran a claw down my cheek, creating a s***h on my cheek. He turned to his sons, "and Richmond?"
One of them spoke, "dead. I killed him with my bare hands."
He chuckled darkly, "excellent work, Damien. You all have done well in avenging your mother and sister. Now throw this piece of s**t into the dungeon, with silver chains wrapped around her hands and feet. Tomorrow, she begins work, so let the head of servants know that she'd be having a new scum in her care."
"Of course, Father."
Damien grabbed my hands, dragging me down a path, I saw eyes on me as I was brutally yanked on.
"You have no idea what's in store for you." Damien chuckled as he led me down a flight of stairs to a dimly lit space.
He grabbed a key from a guard and opened an empty cell that reeked of dried blood and sorrow.
"Please don't put me in there." I managed to whisper.
He forcefully caught my hand and threw me into the cell. My back collided with the hard wall and I cried out. He crouched before me, dragging me by my feet. I heard the rattling of chains before I felt a burning sensation on my ankle. I hissed, "it burns."
"Good. I trust you'll have a good night's sleep." He spat at me with disgust as he stood to his feet.
"You have no idea what's in store for you tomorrow."
My head perked up, shivering at his promising tone. I had heard everything the Alpha had said and sighed, slumping against the wall with my knees hugged to my chest. What else could be worse than this?
****
I was awakened by a bang on my cell door. I looked up and a middle-aged woman with short blonde hair, dressed in a blue gown was standing beside a guard.
"Is she the one?" She asked the guard.
"Yes."
Her eyes scanned my frail, dirtied self, "well, she's not much to look at but who cares. Get her out."
The cell was unlocked and I was dragged out of the cell and made to stand in front of her. She snorted and signaled for me to follow her.
I followed her up the stairs, down the hallway and down a path that led out of the mansion to a set of smaller clustered houses.
"This is the servant's quarters and my name is Madame Elene. You'd be working as a scullery maid."
She led me into the congested building, down a hallway and in front of a small door. "This will be your room."
She gestured for me to follow her. We arrived at a small space that had dreary looking clothes hung in a disorganized manner. She picked out an ugly looking gown and tossed it at me. "That's yours."
"You'd be given food once a day and on days you don't perform well, no food at all." The scorn in her eyes made me want to shrink away.
"Do you understand?" She barked at me.
"Y-yes ma'am." I squeaked.
"Good. Now go get ready, we have a ceremony to host today and you're in charge of serving the Alpha and his guests the food and drinks."
"Ma'am?"
"Did I stutter? You'd be serving the Alpha."
I gulped, saying a silent pray to the moon-goddess to protect me.
"Now get dressed and come with me. I have something I need you to help me with. I expect to see you lined up with the others in five minutes."
I scurried away to the door she had said was my room's door, closing the door behind me. I quickly threw off my clothes, wasting not a second in putting on the awful uniform. I was always certain my life here would be tough and I needed to do as much as I could to get into less trouble.
I knew they hated me and would have their eyes on me, nit-picking for every wrong thing I'd do.
The room could barely be called a room, with a rickety bed frame and old bed. With a tiny window hanging above a wall. I figured it was once a storeroom or something similar.
I threw my hair into a messy bun using the ribbon that once held my hair together.
I rushed out of the room when I heard marching steps. I didn't want to be last one to arrive, it would draw more attention to myself.
I bumped into a girl, "so sorry."
She turned to me with a look of disgust, in her eyes before saying, "well, well, well, if it isn't the murderer herself."
Oh boy!
I was about to have a horrible day.
All eyes were on me as the girl's voice echoed in the hallway way. I stole glances around me, quietly swallowing,
"Please don't do this." I begged.
"Your father murdered our Luna. News flies fast you know and I don't know why you're still alive." She sneered before walking while I had no choice but to follow behind.
I looked away, not knowing what to say. I was yet to come to terms with what my father had done much less the new reality I was now forced to live in.
I felt a strong aura and looked up, immediately looking away when I saw one of triplets standing behind Elene.
"You don't belong here, not even as a servant. Trash belongs in a trash can." He sneered before turning to Elene to whisper something I'm her ear.
She nodded before bowing her head at his retreating figure and turning to me. From the look in her eyes, I couldn't help but wonder what he told her.
