Joel calmed the excited voices asking what was going on. He glanced back to Piper through the open doorway to Drew’s living area, concerned at how quiet she was, and saw her staring at a piece of paper in her hand. Joel started to take a step towards her, but Charles asked another question, arresting his movement. As he answered the older man"s question, he looked around at what the others were doing and was surprised to find Donna staring intently at Piper.
Piper looked up, and Donna glanced away as if she didn"t want to be seen staring. Without drawing attention to herself, Joel watched Piper refold the piece of paper and stick it into her pocket.
