CIL - Chapter Eleven - Blast from the Past

"LIAR! You lie! I'm right, right?" I watch as she pushes all the cards in the pile towards me. Now I have about a thousand cards whilst she has 2. Brilliant. If you haven't guessed already, we were playing bullsh*t. But I didn't want my Angel saying these types of words, so we'll stick to 'Liar'. It has been two weeks since Rose met my parents and they seemed to get along great. My angel's wrist is completely healed and my name stands out. "Alright, I'm done with this game! You win." I tell her making her squeal in excitement and jump into my arms. "I like winning, it's fun. But you wouldn't know that, Damy, would you?" She says with a laugh. I swear, day by day she becomes more sly. "Oh really?" I ask her before attacking her with my fingers. Tickling. Get your mind out of the gutter. "Damy, stop! This isn't funny!" She screams between her laughter. "It's pretty funny to me!" And I continue to torture her. Until the doorbell rang. Immediately, Rose starts to wiggle out of my arms whilst I'm distracted. "I'll get it!" I hear the door opening and then small mumbling, so I decide to get up and go see who it is since Angel doesn't know all of my neighbours. As I reach the door and Rose, I wrap my arms around her waist from behind her just as she starts to shout. "DAMY! THERE'S A PRETTY GIRL AT THE DOOR ASKING FOR YOU!" "Dammit, Rose. I'm right here." I say trying to unblock my ears. She just giggles. Beautiful. "I know, that's why I shouted." Sounding completely proud of herself. "Damien?" Oh dear Lord. Forgive me for all my sins. I glare at the human in front of me - that's if you can even call her that - and my arms tighten around my Angel. "What are you doing here?" I growl at her. B*tch just gives me a small innocent smile. "What do you mean? I am your girlfriend and the mother of our child." This girl. If she thinks saying that is going to chase my Angel away, then she's got another thing coming. I told Rose everything about Lily's biological mother, and my mom as well as Rose both know that my Angel is more of a mother to Lily that her biological one ever was. "Firstly, Elaine. This is my girlfriend Rosalina. You probably already know that." Why else would she be here? Before I could continue with my second point my Angel interrupted me. "And secondly, you are not her mom! You don't even know her name! Let alone her favourite colour, her favourite toy, or even if she goes to school or not." Fierce Rose is sexy. I have to say, I've never seen her like this. Normally, she's joking around and slowly she's breaking out of her 6 year-old shell that was created years back. "Of course I know her name. It's...er. Well, it's not my fault I wasn't here to see her grow up." Pathetic. As usual. Now, it's my turn. "Listen, Elaine. My daughter is sleeping upstairs is I'd appreciate it if you left before she wakes up. But before you go, listen to this. That girl upstairs, whose name is Lily , by the way, has no relation to you. Blood doesn't matter in comparison to love and care. You left with her father and ran away to do God knows what and didn't even tell him where or why you were going! But honestly, I'm happy that you left. Because if you hadn't, maybe I wouldn't have Lily, or maybe I wouldn't had the chance to find Rose because your clingy self would have stuck to my side. Now, do yourself a favour. There's an app called 'Uber' these days. Use it, it's free to download. Get yourself a ride and get lost." With that, I gently moved a shocked Rose inside, before slamming the door behind us. Hopefully, we won't have to deal with her again. When Lily grows up, we'll give her her own chance to decide if she wants to meet her useless mother. Of course we wouldn't say it like that. Or maybe I will. "Damy, you are so cute when you're angry." Rose baby talks as she squeezed my cheeks. I give her a serious look. "Not funny." "Well, I'm sorry." She says sarcastically. "But seriously, thanks for backing up Lily in front of her mom." As much as I hate to call her that, she is what she is. "Mom told me that if someone doesn't love you and take care of you and make you really happy, then they aren't your mom." A look of concentration crosses her face, "those definitely weren't the words." Three hours later, Lily was awake, we were all sitting on the sofa in the living room after having eaten dinner. We watched a movie about fairies or Barbies. Or both. I don't know, but my two favourite girls seem to like it. The two had fallen asleep, Rose leaning against one side of the sofa with Lily leaning against her. I quickly took my phone out of my back pocket and took a picture of them. Just then, my phone started to vibrate. Thank god it was on silent mode or it would have woken them up. Sliding the bar to the right, I bring the phone up to my ear. "Hello?" "Damien! Bro, I don't know if this is good news or bad news, but we have to go to L.A. in two days. You have a interview with the whole cast of One Day with Her on Saturday, and a week later, there's a reunion for Galactic Empire and then you have the awards show and Totally Timeless has been nominated for best comedy movie. So you'd be staying there for about two weeks. Isn't that great?" He says it with so much enthusiasm and confidence that makes it seem like he should be the actor between the both of us. "Mark, calm down. Firstly, can I bring a guest with me?" "Obviously, Lily is always welcome to join us." "Good. Secondly, can I bring two guests with me?"I ask, desperately. I can't get separated from her now. Or ever. "Suuure. Who is- wait, is it Rosalina Blake? Yes! I've been wanting to meet her. Have you been keeping her secret form me all this time? How could you? I mean, the media found out before me!" He shouts, but I can tell he's joking from the tone of his voice. "Oh, shut up! We haven't talked in forever. If I hadn't called you, you could've called me so the blame goes both ways." "Whatever. I need to sort the plane out, let me know if any plans change." They probably won't unless Rose's parents don't allow her to come with me. "Alright, talk to you later." "Yeah, sure you will. Bye!" i***t. I'd only met Rose's parents once, that was when I went to pick her up for a date. But normally, they're either at work or the ice cream parlour. So either way they're at work. I asked Rose about it, she says that they spend plenty of time with them but I just catch them at the wrong time. But most of the time, she just stays over at mine anyway. Hopefully they won't mind me stealing their daughter for two weeks.
