PROLOGUE; THE FIRST HYBRID
Long before kingdoms were carved and bloodlines ruled the lands, Long before the Moon Goddess decided to walk away from her creations, there lived a tale of a being born of fire and moonlight.
Some say he was born under the rarest lunar eclipse. Kael was neither beast nor man, but both... stronger than any Lycan, swifter than any Wolf. The Moon Goddess herself marked him as her chosen child, the savior of the Lore, destined to unite the divided packs and end centuries of bloodshed.
Others say, the Moon once loved the Lore so deeply, she gave it a son. Not born of a womb or a pack, but forged from the moonlight and blood of two enemies... he was the first Lycan and Wolf hybrid.
His name was Kael... A miracle to the lore as he was the answer to centuries of hatred. Where Wolves clawed at dominance and Lycans howled for blood, Kael stood between them, silencing war with strength none could challenge. For he was feared for his power, and worshipped for his grace
Under Kael’s command, Wolves and Lycans fought side by side, their howls one voice, their enemies trembling at the sound. The Lore prospered. Peace tasted sweet.
But peace breeds envy and hatred.
He had fallen in love, a mate chosen not by fate, but by his heart. Elaria, his closest, his dearest. She was his calm, his center. But love they say... makes fools of gods and mortals alike.
Elaria’s love was a treacherous lie.
She envied the peace Kael had brought. Envied his light, his devotion to a Lore that had always hated her kind. She wanted him to choose her over the Moon Goddess, over the Lore, and over his destiny.
When he didn’t, she betrayed him. She was the dagger in his ribs. And in one night, Kael lost everything... his mate, his title, and the very people he bled for.
The one he trusted most. His mate. His heart. She whispered his secrets to those who feared him. Convinced him to lay down his guard. And when the time came, she stood among those who betrayed him. They struck when his guard was down, branding him a monster, calling his love a lie.
Her betrayal broke something deep inside him. As rage consumed his soul, His howl turned to fire. His claws tore down cities. The very sky wept.
His fury cracked the earth. The skies split. Wolves and Lycans both innocent and guilty all fell under his fire.
The Lore screamed for mercy.
Kael became the nightmare the enemies claimed he was.
Until the Moon Goddess herself descended in sorrow with tears of regret in bright blinding silver light. She did not forgive him. She destroyed him. She wrapped her hand around Kael’s heart and whispered apologies as she ended him. His body turned to dust, but his soul?
His soul burned...
And before it turned to ash, his voice echoed across the burning lands.
"I will return... not to destroy the Lore, but to protect those who love me, and to damn those who do not.”
Others say the bloodline lives hidden, quiet, waiting.
That was the first.
The second came generations later.. a man named Theron, another hybrid born by chance a mistake actually. He was gentler than Kael, softer, and very much wiser. He loved a woman named Nala and she loved him with equally.
But love, you see.. is a dangerous thing in the Lore.
Naia’s sister, Nandini craved what she could never have, she wanted the man her sister had.
Her love for Theron twisted it self into purr obsession. And when Nala refused to step aside, Nandini murdered her own blood and stood beside Theron in white silk as if nothing had happened as they mourned his beloved.
Theron’s soul turned black with grief, rage and anger
Kael’s curse stirred deep in his bones. He razed down villages, he shattered packs, and became the shadow in the corners of the Lore’s nightmares.
But love is a funny thing.. madness was not enough to numb his grief. And when he stood high on top the Moon’s Peak, dripping in blood and sorrow, he looked to the sky and begged the moon Goddess.
“Forgive me. But this isn't over”
Then he leapt down to be with Naia, wherever she waited.
The Moon Goddess wept again. Not for his death, but for what she knew was coming.
Generations later... Another hybrid was born.
But this time… a girl.
Quiet... Unassuming... Hidden.
She does not know she carries their rage. She does not know she carries their love.
She does not know she carries their pain. She does not know she carries their grief.
She does not know she was never meant to survive.
But the moon is full once more. And the bloodline as well as the lore remembers.
And now Elaria and Nandini's bloodline has also awakened.
