Humiliation.

Kylan shut the door to his room as he could not bear it anymore. - What is it? - The female voice brought him back to reality. Naked she-wolf sat on his bed, watching him with concern. - It is none of your business; get out now! - The man almost spat on the floor. - But, Kylan, I thought... - The girl whispered. - You thought what? - He looked at her with disgust. - You thought I would choose you as my mate? Sorry, sweetie, it was just a one-night stand. I needed distraction. Do not think too mighty of yourself. - F*uck you! - The girl grabbed her clothes from the floor. - I did, with you. - He replied with a chuckle. The she-wolf ran out of his room, tears rolling down her cheeks. Kylan smirked, closing the door behind her. They were all the same. One sweet night and each of them thought about themselves as a future Luna. How pathetic. The man returned to his bed, which still held the scent of their fun. He tried to relax but to no avail. Yesterday was supposed to be the day of his ultimate victory, yet it turned into a complete disaster. Kylan planned this day for months. His imagination was filled with visions where Kaitlyn was curled on the floor, suffering from his rejection. He hated this girl. She was nobody, yet she stole his parent's attention and love from him. Kailyn always had to steal the spotlight. Kylan smiled at his memories when her eyes were filled with tears, and he was the reason for it. Seeing her upset and broken was warming his heart. That was how he liked to see her. Then he found out she was his mate. Fate played a good joke on him. Kylan was surprised that his hatred toward Kaitlyn could increase even more, but it happened. He was ready to reject her immediately, but after further deliberation, he devised a better plan. Kaitlyn wished for a mate. He often heard her talking about this to his mother. Kylan decided to make the rejection spectacular. He spent some time convincing his parents that Kaitlyn deserved a great party on her 18th birthday. He played his role so well that none of them doubted his intentions. Loving brother is trying to make her special day even more special. Kylan's parents let him take control of the whole planning. The man invited all his friends to admire his victory over this bi*ch. Everything was going according to plan up to the moment when everything fell into pieces. Instead of him looking down at his panting and whining mate, everyone saw him screaming in excruciating pain while Kaitlyn stood tall and proud before him. Kylan was boiling with rage; he could kill her at that moment, but his body failed him. So he did what he could do; Kylan banished Kaitlyn from the pack, and she obeyed his command, fearing for her dear life. Kylan's happiness was short-lived, as his parents were outraged by his actions. His mother dared to call him a disappointment. Kylan could not believe it when he found out that his mother and father had gone out to find this little sl*t. The man prayed for their mission to fail, but the gods did not listen, and now Kaitlyn was back. He saw her briefly; her eyes were filled with fear. She should leave and never come back. He will make her regret this decision. The knock on the door interrupted Kylan. Hopefully, it was not another female ready to console him. For now, he was fed up with them clinging to him. This time, it was one of the omegas working in a packhouse. - What is it? - Kylan asked through his gritted teeth, making the girl shake in fear. - Apologies, but Alpha wants to see you in his office as soon as possible. - Omega said, keeping her head low. - Fine. Now, get out. - The man replied coldly. He had no idea why his father summoned him right now, but there could not be anything good. Kylan wasted no time going to the office. He knocked at the door, politely waiting for an invitation. - Come in.- He heard after a moment. - You wanted to see me? - Kylan asked, entering the room. - Yes, take a seat. - His father said dryly. It was not a good sign, and Kylan was sure it was somehow related to the last events. - Your Alpha training is supposed to start next week, as it is time for you to learn about your duties and responsibilities. - Felix pointed out the obvious. It was true since Alpha planned to step down and pass his title to his son. - That is correct, and I can not wait to start it. - A lot of things needed to be changed in this pack since his parents were too soft-hearted. - I am afraid you will have to wait a little longer. - His father said without emotions. - Why?- Kylan almost shouted, shocked by the statement. - You did it to yourself. - Felix let out a heavy breath. It was a challenging moment for him, but his son's behavior showed he was not ready to lead a pack. - Your latest actions, unnecessary cruelty, made me reconsider my decision. That is all. Prove me wrong, and I may change my mind, but for now, you are not ready to take care of your people. - But, father...- Kylan objected. - That is all for now. You may leave.- Alpha cut him off with no remorse. The young man stood up. There was no point in arguing. He knew this too well. Kylan left the office, shutting the door behind him. He ran off the packhouse, shifting midair, as the anger boiled his blood. Kaitlyn was responsible for all of that. His parents punished him for what he did. His father's words were like a stab in the back, and Kylan felt betrayed. And for what? The man ran through the woods, helping himself to calm down. ~ Do not blame our mate. ~ His wolf, Nox, scolded him. - She is not my mate and will never be.- Kylan shut him down. They were not on the best terms since they found out Kaitlyn was their mate. Nox was ready to accept her straight away, but Kylan had never the intention of doing it. They had been fighting over this matter for months, but the young man did not change his mind. Since the painful rejection, Nox stopped talking to him altogether. That was another thing Kylan put into Katlyn's credit. She took his parents away from him, and now his beast hated him because of her. This girl brought only destruction into his life. As long as she were present in his life, Kylan would suffer. He had to find a way to get rid of her. For good this time. But he cannot act recklessly as he did until now. His first plan seemed great initially, but it caused him too many problems. Now, he needs to be beyond all suspicions. A new plan began to form in his mind, and Kylan calmed down. ~ You will put her in danger. ~ Nox warned from the back of his mind. ~ Why are you so cruel to our mate? - For the last time, I am telling you, she is not my mate. I deserve someone way better. - The man replied, disgusted. - You are an idi*t. - His wolf said, cutting him off. Kylan smirked, hearing that insult. He was finally calm after all the pieces of his plan jumped into the right place. Who would guess his parents were the ones who gave him the main idea? Kaitlyn was sitting in her old room. She agreed to come back but felt uneasy in the place she called home for so long. Everything changed, and Kaitlyn thought she would never be able to go back as it was. - Elena? - The girl called her inner beast. They did not speak since the dragon's awakening. ~ Yes? ~ Kaitlyn heard the response. She hesitated for a moment as the dragon's tone sounded annoyed. It was confusing as most people described their connection with their beast as finding the best friend. Luna Shioban often conversed with her wolf, forgetting about the outside world. Kaitlyn wished to have the same connection, but obviously, it was different with dragons. Kaitlyn felt like they had nothing in common. - Do you think I made the right decision? - She finally asked. ~ We do not belong here. But I guess it is the best option for now. We need to find out the truth before deciding what would be the best for you. ~ Elena said after a moment. Deep inside, Kaitlyn knew she was right, but the thought of staying under the same roof with Kylan was repulsive. ~ He won't hurt you anymore. Luna gave me her word. ~ Elena assured her. ~ I won't let him hurt you either. Kaitlyn said nothing, but she felt that would not be easy. Kylan could always find a way. Forgiving was never his thing.
