《chapter one - spiders》
I've never hated spiders. Surely I've disliked them, but it wasn't to a degree that I would kill a spider that was just on my wall minding it's business, but my sister was different. She hated spiders more likely she feared them more than hated them. I remember one time when I was a kid, a spider was at the top of the slide we had in our backyard, and as soon as she saw the spider, she started screaming and ran inside, When I was a kid, I would laugh at her fear since I thought it was stupid to be scared of a small bug. Now I understand why. It started after my 24th birthday. I invited my sister since she was the only true friend I had. It was just going to be a sister's day, and my mom understood taking my daughter for a trip with her and my dad. I set everything up. I got the snacks and movies we both liked ready. I waited for her to appear. After hours of waiting, I started to become concerned. My sister was never as strong as I was. She would always get really hurt by the smallest of scratches or bites I'd playfully put on her. I waited a little longer before I began calling her, then her husband. After the long, painful sound of the ringing, I heard it. It was the sound of a phone ringing, and it was outside my door. I quickly went to the door, opened it with my eyes closed, prepared for what was out there. When I opened my eyes, all there was on my front doorstep was a black wooden box with a spider's web carved into the wood and my sister's phone next to it. Picking up the box along with my sister's phone, I went back inside, heading to the kitchen, placing the newly found belongings on the table. I quietly pulled up a chair for myself and stared at the objects in front of me. After a long pause that felt like eternity, I questioned, opening the box. I hesitantly picked up my sister's phone, observing it while I turned it in my hands to see if there was a speck of blood on it. There was none, not a single drop of blood on the phone. Placing the phone down on the table, I picked up the wooden box, shook it hearing the muffled clatter of something inside. I looked for an opening in the box to get what was in the box, thinking it might help me with this unusual event. after searching the box thoroughly, I found a small slit on the top lid, keeping it shut, looking around for scissors or a kitchen knife. Grabbing a kitchen knife from my knife collection, going over to the box, and putting the knife in the open slit. I gently cut what was keeping the box shut tight. I was surprised at how easy it was to cut it open. I figured it would be harder because of how tight the box was held, yet my dull kitchen knife cut it open as if the knife was sharpened. After pulling the knife out, I saw some reddish goo all over the knife, sniffing it to see if it had a metal smell and if it didn't know its blood, it was only a sour smell like sour candy. It made me think it was all a prank. I started thinking this is what I got for bulling my sister, and she's getting back at me with this prank. I started to yell, "You can come out now," trying to get my sister to appear at my front door. After 40 minutes of waiting, I began to get mad. I walked out to my porch and started yelling, "Come out already, I'm tired of this prank!" when no one appeared or even rustled a bush. My anger faded back into concern. "It wasn't a prank.". I started to cry on my front porch, wishing it was a prank. After crying, I went back inside, sat on the couch, and waited again, hoping someone, even if it was my sister's husband, would come and tell me that people were looking for her. but no one came. After all the waiting and crying, I began to fall asleep on the couch. My eyes began to close even though I wanted to stay awake just in case my little sister came there when I was asleep, but my body said otherwise. The next morning, I woke up tired. My brain was thinking a million miles a hour and I started to call my sister and her husband to see if she had been found or maybe something had come up and all that had happened last night was one big nightmare. Just like last night, no one answered, so I gave up on my mission and decided I'd find something to eat in the kitchen. as I walked in the kitchen, I saw the box, but unlike yesterday, the box was slightly open, and the goo was leaking out of it like a water fall. I eeked in disgust and tried to stop the goo from leaving the table onto the floor. My first thought was a bucket, and I searched for a bucket, and luckily, there was one in my pantry. Before the goo leaked out onto the floor, I placed the bucket where the goo was running and let it do its own thing. Looking for food to eat, I realized I had spent all my money on my birthday party. I realized there were a bunch of unopened chips left from the party I didn't have. After debating on what I wanted to eat for my unhealthy breakfast, I chose a family-sized bag of ruffles and snacked till I was full, while I watched the goo slowly drip into the bucket. After a while, I started to ignore the box completely, almost forgetting it till I saw someone outside my window looking in my kitchen and seeing the box. Before I could react, they had already left, going to my front door, knocking gently, and since I wasn't going to get scared and ignore it, I walked over to it, opened slowly and who I saw shocked me. It was my sister. She looked unharmed. After I got over the shock, I started crying and yelling at her, telling her how worried I was. but before she could yell back, all I heard from her was a single help as her body burst open as spiders poured out of her, making her body bloat like a balloon full of helium. I remember passing and waking up to see my sister's empty corpse on the ground being eaten by spiders and a woman saying something and dragging me to bed. The next morning, I woke up thinking everything that had happened was just a dream, as if it were just a nightmare, and I hadn't watched my sister explode with spiders yesterday. as I got up out of my bed and walking into my kitchen, I saw the box was still there as I stared at it. tears fell down like water fall because I knew now my sister's death wasn't just a nightmare. My family called me insane when I told them they accused me of killing her. Even her husband agreed with them, saying I was making up the story to save myself from the cops. Those next few weeks were hell. No one believed me, and I was put on trial for a murder I didn't commit. When I was found guilty, I looked around for anyone to believe me or even say I didn't do it. No one did, and I was left alone to rot, knowing my own parents thought I had killed my sister. It started to drive me insane to the point where I thought I had done it and I was just hallucinating what happened. But that changed when I saw the women come visit me in jail. She asked me how I was, and I wanted revenge for my sister's death, and she knew damn well what I would say. I told her I knew what she had done and she would pay for killing my sister. She laughed at me and asked me how I would do that in a jail cell. I told her honestly that I didn't know, but once I got out, I'd find her and make her pay. She opened her mouth to me, making me tremble in fear as her mouth showed hundreds of spiders living inside of her. Closing her mouth, she waved goodbye, leaving me trembling. those years i spent in jail. She kept visiting me as if she was taunting me. It enraged me. i wished more than death upon her, but I was stuck in a prison cell. What would I do? I started writing letters to anyone who would believe my story. This is one of my letters. Please believe me when I say I would never kill my sister. I loved her so much. I never hurt her. If you are reading this and believe what i say, spread what I say around, warn them to never open the box and never trust spiders.
