Chapter 14: Fell for you

As per usual I was awake before Kai, this time I snuggled into his warmth a little bit longer before sliding out of his grip and heading to the bathroom and taking a warm shower. Once I was clean and all wrapped up in my towel I realized I forgot to bring in my clothes. I sighed and walked into the room in just my towel and went into the closet grabbing a shirt and jean shorts before grabbing my under garments and socks from the dresser and running back into the bathroom. 

Once I was dressed I noticed Kai was sitting like a statue on the bed staring at the wall with his eyes unfocused. I walked over to him and grabbed his hand, he looked down at me with eyes as black as the night sky. 

"Enapay." I said knowing it was his wolf. 

"Hello little mate, you looked absolutely delectable in your towel this morning." He said licking his lips. "I can't wait until the day you bear my mark for the world to see." He said in a hushed whisper. I felt my cheeks flare up and I got a bit uncomfortable and scooted back. He whimpered and I looked up to see Kai's face filled with sadness as his eyes went from black to turquoise.

(Look at what you did! You hurt our mate!) Lilo yelled at me while whimpering. 

'I'm not ready for that Lilo, and you shouldn't be either seeing as what happened to me also happened to you!' I yelled back. She cut off our link and I groaned before falling back on the bed and covering my face with my hands. 

"Are you okay baby?" I heard Kai asked. 

"No, I just pissed off my wolf and I hurt yours." I said sadly, a tear ran down my face before I could stop it. 

"It's not your fault love, I know you aren't ready yet. He needs to learn when to only think something and when it is appropriate so say it aloud." Kai pulled my hands from my face and wiped away my tear before placing a small kiss on my cheek. "And don't worry about Lilo baby, she'll come around." I nodded and put my arms around him holding onto him as tightly as I could. 

"I don't wanna go to work anymore." I grumbled. 

"Well you have to, so get your cute little ass moving." Another kiss was placed on my forehead before Kai removed himself from my arms and pushed me out into the living room where Artemis was waiting in her cage. I took her out and begrudgingly went to work.

As soon as I was done and went home I began packing my things so Kai and I could just leave in the morning. I packed most of Artemis's things leaving out her food, skunk and blanket. Kai walked in and looked at all the boxes in the living room and shook his head with a smile. "Leave a few outfits here baby, if I have to work late with Stephen and I have to spend the night here I don't plan on being alone." I nodded and unpacked a few outfits before putting my tampon box into one of the boxes. "You can leave those here too love, we'll get you more for home." I smiled and pat the bed next to me. 

"These aren't tampons." Kai looked extremely confused so I pulled one of the applicators' out and showed him what was inside. "I've been saving for around 5 years, it all adds up to be about 10 grand." Kai's eyes went wide while I nervously twisted my hair around my finger. 

"That is a lot to have laying around, babe. You should put it in an account at the bank."

"This has worked so far, I had this with me at Blood-sky and no one touched it seeing as they believed I had tampons in here."

"I'll give you some time to think about it okay. Seeing as you are going to be around for a while a bank would be one of the safest places for your money."

"I'll think about it."

"That's all I'm asking for baby, now pack that box up and let's go get some dinner." I did as he said and we went down to dinner with Artemis at our feet. I sat down next to Kai our little pup layed down between us not once begging while we ate. Kai gave her a small piece of rib after we were all done with dessert. 

"It was nice to have you eat dinner with us again." Pearl said with a sly smirk. 

"Well we have been eating a lot of food to help me gain weight." I said rolling my eyes playfully. 

"I can see you have filled out, you look bomb AF girlfriend." She said with a wink making me laugh. 

"Soon, I'll be able to get into the sparring ring, then I can learn how to really kick ass!" I growled playfully. 

"Can I get front row tickets to the first ass kicking you hand out?" Stephen asked with a mischievous grin. 

"No need, I'll be kicking YOUR ass." I said with a smug smirk. Stephen laughed loudly causing some of the pack to turn our way. 

"I look forward to the day little wolf." He said once he had wiped tears off of his cheeks and finished laugh. 

"So do I." I stated with a huff crossing my arms over my chest. Stephen got up and put away his plate before walking up behind Kai and I and rubbing my head messing up my hair. I swatted his hand away and stuck my tongue out like a child. 

"Have a good night little wolf, I'll talk to you tomorrow Malachai."

"That you will, night Stephen." Kai said looking up at him. 

"Night Stephen." I said as he walked away, he turned around and smirked, then he left the room and headed off to bed. 

"He needs his mate." Pearl said with a sigh. 

"Yes he does." Shane agreed standing up and leaving the room with Pearl at his side. Kai and I were the next to leave, we went out to the back yard and let Artemis do her business, we played for a while seeing as it was August and still light out at 7:30pm. Once Artemis was tired we brought her to the room and set her in the crate before bringing boxes down to the escalade we were taking to the house tomorrow. Once that was all done we went into the bedroom, I pulled off my clothes and put on my pajamas while Kai was in the shower. 

Once he was in bed we curled up together and relaxed in one anothers arms. I fell asleep quickly, pulled into a perfect dream land. I was laying on a black and white checkered blanket underneath a huge oak tree with Kai by my side. I looked up at him while he rambled on, speaking gibberish, I looked back up at the sky and saw a cloud in the shape of a dragon head and sighed before looking back up at Kai who was watching me lovingly. 

"Hello Shiloh." Came a familiar voice, I looked up into the face of the moon goddess as she smiled down at Kai and I. 

"Hello, I....I don't know how to properly address you." I said honestly, she smiled and let out what I guess was laughter, it sounded like a soft melody to my ears though. 

"Call me Selene dear."

"Umm..not to be rude, but why are you here Selene?" I asked standing up and walking toward her. 

"I just wanted to see how you and Malachai are coming along, he also has a complicated past. One of his largest fears is that his mate would reject him once they found out about it."

"I don't care about his past, just about the here and now, and possibly our future." I said looking back at him, he was still gabbing into the empty air. 

"I was hoping you would see past his former years, Malachai and his wolf Enapay are strong. They can protect you from Harlem."

"I know he can, I've never seen him in battle but judging the size of his muscles and the praise of being first warrior I can only imagine how powerful he is."

"It is time for me to go child, enjoy your life with your new mate." I bowed to her and when I stood up she was gone. I smirked and went back to the blanket and layed back down with my love. The rest of the dream consisted of me listening to his rambling and looking up at the sky, feeling the warm sun on my skin. The fireworks that came when Kai and I touched exploded throughout my body as we curled up on the blanket. 

When I woke up Kai was not in bed, I looked around and found him sitting on the floor with Artemis shushing her as she wiggled and whined happily. I watched them for a little while before getting up and sitting next to my mate. He smiled and kissed my temple while Artemis jumped on my lap licking my face and yipping. 

"Good morning baby." Kai said against my head. 

"Good morning Kai, how did you sleep?" I asked. 

"I always sleep good when I have you in my arms." He said softly, I smiled and looked up and pressed my lips to his while taking my right hand and cupping his face. He moaned on my lips and slid his tongue into my mouth. Artemis yipped and licked our connected faces, I laughed while pulling away from the kiss and sucking in large breaths of air. 

"We're gonna have to fix that." Kai said running a hand through his hair and looking down at Artemis with a deadpan look. 

"Later, lets go home!" I squeaked happily, Kai smiled and pulled us up onto our feet. We grabbed all of Artemis's things and went down to the SUV. I sat on the edge of my seat the entirety of the 5 minute drive, I smiled at the gorgeous house that was surrounded by trees and a bright green mossy yard. Kai pulled into the driveway and pulled the SUV into the two car garage and I got out. We each grabbed a box while Artemis sniffed the dark grey cement floor, we walked through a black painted door. There was a small ramp that led us into a large living room with dark walls and golden oak floors. I smiled at the couches and coffee table that were literally in the floor. The ceiling was open with glass paneling allowing whoever was sitting down to look up at the sky. 

The east wall was mostly made up of glass, I set my box down and looked out into the woods and smiled at a small chipmunk that was running along a small stone wall. I turned back around and picked up my box and looked at Kai who was grinning at me. He led me up a flight of spiral stairs and showed me to our large master bedroom, I set my box on the golden oak floor and smiled at the large California king bed with a white duvet. Kai walked out of a doorway on the left side of the room and led me into the walk-in closet that was half empty. I walked out and grabbed my box before walking back into the closet and rolling up my sleeves. 

"Hold on baby, let me show you the rest of the house." I nodded as I stood up and followed him out of the room and down the hall to a room with a desk and black leather rolly chair. There was a small bookcase filled with older looking leather bound journals, I smiled down at the comfy looking grey fabric love seat set in the right corner of the room next to another book shelf with large novels. After I was done looking around his office Kai led me back down stairs where Artemis was sniffing the living room. I was led into a large open kitchen with stainless steel appliances, the next room was the dining room with a large dark oak table and matching chairs. I smiled and followed Kai into the spare room with a full sized bed with a muted grey blanket and matching pillows. 

After we went into the laundry room which had a stainless steel washer and dryer, he showed me where all the cleaning supplies went and then led me to the down stairs bathroom that had a toilet and shower-bathtub combination. When the tour was over we went back into the garage and grabbed two more boxes, leaving only one left. We went back up to the bedroom and I went into the master bathroom and gushed at the perfect sight before me. The bathtub was an old claw footed tub from way back in the day, I ran my hand over the white painted rim while looking at the stand up shower with black linoleum tiles lining he walls and floor. I didn't see a shower head so I looked up at the ceiling where there was a steel plate with a lot of small holes. 

I turned to Kai, gaping like a fish causing him to laugh. I then walked past him and looked at the normal looking sink surrounded by black marble counter top, fitted with a stainless steel fixture. I found the toilet not to far away against the wall, I turned away and walked back to the bedroom and put my hands on my hips before getting to work and putting my things away and getting settled in my new home.
