Chapter 20: Nobody but you

The moment Stephen drove us over the pack border I woke up from my peaceful sleep on Kai's chest. We had been traveling for two days straight only to stop for food and the restroom. Kai and Stephen took turns driving while Nova and I were used as pillows and navigation. Artemis usually hung out with Kai and I seeing as Stephen and Nova were pretty much always snogging. It had been a long two days but it had given me the time I needed to think about things. I came to realize I was ready for the next step in my relationship with Kai. 

I was planning on talking to him about it once we got back to our house, which would be only an hour or so once we got back to the pack or so I was hoping. Well I was wrong, once we got to the pack house Kai was called away to training seeing as some of the warriors had been slacking off without the authority and tight leach he and Stephen seemed to have. I smiled at Pearl and Shane who Artemis ran over to and began yipping at. Stephen took Nova up to their room so I did the only thing I could think of, I went to the café and helped out seeing as I had nothing better to do. 

I left around 5:00 and was about to head home when I got a link from Kai. (K: Hey baby, Steph and I have work to catch up on, I'm going to end up staying at the pack house.) I walked back to the pack house and went to the dining hall sitting next to Pearl and we began gossiping. 

"So where did Stephen meet Nova, they have been locked away all evening so we haven't had the chance to talk to them." 

"Delta-river." I said, Pearl and Shane lit up knowing that was where I was from. "Nova's sister Akila is mated to my brother Dallas." 

"So you got to see your family?!" I nodded, "How are they?" 

"They're good, I mean they're pissed at HIM which is no surprise at all, but they love Kai." 

"That's good, and what about Dufus? Didn't you tell me she might not like him?"

"I was wrong, she loved him too. I think she didn't like HIM because she could sense the type of person he is."

"They say to trust an animals instincts because they are better than that of a human."

"That's for sure." I agreed. "So how have things been around here?"

"The past few days have been hectic seeing as we're getting ready for Nova's Luna ceremony. I mean she is already marked and mated to Stephen, we just have to officially add her to the pack." I nodded. "How is your relationship with Kai?"

"It's amazing, I..uh.." I blushed and laughed nervously trying to cool my cheeks by fanning them, I leaned into her head and whispered in her ear. "I'm ready to take the next step." I pulled away while Pearl beamed and clapped her hands. 

"We should go shopping while he's at training for some...equipment." She sad waggling her eyebrows. 

"And we can got to the salon, I seriously need a hair cut." She nodded while reaching out and grabbing a few strands of my long hair. 

"We should also get you a dress for the Luna ceremony in one of the packs colors."

"What are the packs colors?" I asked shyly. 

"Royal purple and sky blue." She said looking at me up and down. "I think royal purple is more your color." I just nodded as Kai, Shane and Callum walked into the hall looking sweaty and tired. Stephen walked in after them, in regular clothes, not training clothes with Nova at his side. Kai took his seat beside me and sighed before taking my hand and interlocking our fingers. Fireworks danced on our skin and I smiled while taking my free hand and tracing his tattoos.

"How was the rest of your day love?"

"It was okay, I went to the café and worked for a while while Artemis played with Pearl and Shane. Then I came here and gossiped with my Luna. She and I are going shopping tomorrow while you are catching up with whatever it is you need to do." 

"Who is going with you guys?"

"Shane and Callum." Pearl said from beside me, Kai nodded at her before kissing my forehead. 

"I'm glad you have something to do love." He said as our food was set in front of us. what are you shopping for?"

"Well for one I need a hair cut, I'm starting to get headaches, and I'm getting a dress for Nova's Luna ceremony." He smiled and pulled me as close to him as possible before kissing my cheek. 

"Will you grab a tie too baby, one that matches your dress?" I nodded and nuzzled his cheek. We both took a breath before looking back at our Alpha's who were finishing up with the first bite. Once they were done Kai and I dug in, savoring the flavor of the home cooked meal and not the greasy fast food we had been eating for the past few days. 

Once we were done with the chocolate lava cake that was for dessert, we followed Stephen and Nova from the room, Artemis at our heels. Kai and I stopped on our floor, seeing as Kai wanted a quick shower before getting some work done, Stephen nodded and went up to his floor with an aroused Nova, we knew what they were doing. Kai grabbed some clothes before heading to the bathroom to shower, I on the other hand went into the living room and played with the pup, when I heard the water turn off I set her on the couch and went into the bedroom. Kai was walking around in in a pair of sweats, completely shirtless, I sighed and walked over to him wrapping my arms around his large body. 

"I got used to having you close all day." I said neutrally, his arms snaked around me and his chin rested on the crown of my head. 

"Me too baby."

"How long do you think they'll be?"

"At least another 10 minutes why?"

"There is something I want to tell you." Kai pulled back and looked down at my face looking for a hint of what I wanted to say. I led him to the bed and sat down, patting the spot beside me, he sat down and took my hand in his. 

"Talk to me love."

"I'm ready to take the next step with you Kai." He lit up like a christmas tree before he crossed his arms and began pouting. 

"Now Stephen decides to get work done." He growled, I giggled at his child like demeanor. 

"I know right?!" I said still smiling. "I love you Kai, and when the time is right I want to complete the mate bond."

"I love you too Shy, and I cant wait to be all yours." I smiled and cupped his face with my hand before pressing my lips to his, when he slid his tongue along my bottom lip I opened my mouth for him instantly. Once his tongue was in he gently laid me back on the bed and hovered his body over mine. "That has never happened before." I smiled and stood before grabbing some clothes from the dresser. 

"You should clean up before you go to Stephen's office handsome." I teased, he growled before kissing my neck once more and heading to the bathroom. Once he was done I gave him a small kiss, he left our "apartment" and headed to work while I took a warm shower. I tried to sleep, but it wouldn't come, instead I found myself laying in bed with just a shirt of Kai's and a pair of panties wondering what we would be doing if he were with us.
