Two: The Ball and Him

*Me a Queen?? Mother! Father!! You are still young and Max are you older than me! But I’m 18 and my wolf-* The squeals of my mother erupt through the room echoing throughout the castle. Even my father and brother covered their ears and I stepped back a bit. “My daughter does have her wolf! Oh my sweet tart! Tell me about her.” I looked at her as she shook my head and her green eyes were sad. “Darling you never said a word in your life. Can’t you at least tell me in your own words not in a mind-like way that you love me?” I felt tears in my eyes as I looked at her with pleading eyes like every year. *Mom, my queen and my friend. Please understand I won’t be talking. I can't, I don’t understand why but I can’t.* She looked at my father and my father smiled. “You will make a beautiful and strong queen.” He said with pride and I sigh a little as I look at them and waved goodnight and my brother laughs. “I’m so sorry I forgot you needed to sleep more!” And with that I went to bed covering myself in the bear fur and I blew out my candle, letting the darkness take over. If tomorrow was a ball then I was going to get as much sleep as I could.

I woke up seeing the warmth of the sun hitting my face and making my furs on my bed warm. It made my wolf purr. *Wait! My wolf! Rieyn! You there? Are you really-* A laugh echoed through my head *Yes my little Queen, I’m here and I’m going nowhere.* I take a happy sigh as I look into the mirror. * Well then let's get ready for the ball.*

And if the Goddess herself had spoken to a maid no older than 13 came in very shy as she looked at me I couldn’t help but smile. She bows a little bit as she speaks in a tiny timid voice. “M-my lady. It is time for me to get you ready for the ball. The Queen and King have instructed you to look your best.” She said as she didn't look at me, which was normal no one ever really looked into my eyes. I was a princess and they were a servant. But a rule was put down that anyone can look at anyone, this young girl must have not got the message.

I look at her and chuckle kidney and lift up her chin to make her look at me. The fear in her honey brown eyes as I looked at her and smiled kindly seeing the fear leave her eyes made my heart sore. I was able to comfort and tell a young girl it was ok to look at me without anything bad happening, and best of all I did it without any words. 

The young girl grabs my hands and takes me to my bathing chambers where I have the most beautiful view of the forest and the lake that my kingdom owns. I could see three villages where all of them were part of my family's pack. My soon to be Pack where I will find my mate and take the role as Luna or in other words Queen so that the human kingdoms don’t know about our world. Then it hit me, the ice cold water after the bath was done, I gasp and then look at the girl who looked scared. I was shaking as I looked at her waiting for her to give me a rag to dry off my body. But it seemed like she was frozen in fear. *This poor pup, I hope our head servants are beating new pups to actually be like this.* I thought to Rieyn as I could hear her growling in the back of my mind. *If someone is beating pups to be like this I will rip them-* I stopped her there as I bit my lip. *No! We are not killing anyone!* I growled at her and she cut me off. I sighed as I got out and grabbed a rag and cleaned off my body. At this point the little girl brought in a stunning silver dress that made my jaw and my wolf's jaw dropped. *We are going to look hot my silent Queen* and I couldn’t help but nod with agreement to that. 

After doing my hair and getting my into my silver dress that was clearly made for my stature. It made me smile as the young girl brushed my hair until it shined. At that point I waved her away, not saying anything must have been rough for her. Not hearing my speak or even mind-link her to tell her anything. But I don’t always talk to everyone. Nearly all of the pack thinks I’m deaf and that’s why I don’t talk to anyone. But I can hear perfectly fine, the reason why I don’t talk is a mystery even to myself. I’ve tried to talk, even to myself in the mirror. Many of the elders think I’m cursed by a witch or maybe I had some birth defect. But I have pure alpha’s blood running through my veins. I was able to talk one day. But when is the question. 

A knock at the door is what made me snap out of my head as I heard my brother's voice. “Izzy Snow it is time.” He said in a formal tone. As he walks into my room seeing me, a growl comes out of this throat. “I swear if any wolf hurts your heart I’m killing them, you are perfect!” He said with a smile. Max was wearing a red tunic and leather pants with a Goddess pendant around his neck. “I’ve come to bring you a gift.” He said coming to me and holding out a jade moon goddess pendant. “This is for you a gift from me and father. It is jade from a neighboring country.” He said as it slips around my neck resting gently on my chest. 

*Thank you brother. This is beautiful and I love it.* I looked at him with pure joy as some tears fell off my cheeks. He quickly wipes them away and smiles. “Now come along. It is time.” He said offering his arm and I took it. At this moment I was so happy and the ball had just begun. But then it hit me, the amazing scent of salt water and bread. A strange mixture but it hit my senses and both me and my wolf spoke at the same time *mate* my brother looked at me confused. “What is it Izzy.”  and I took a look at him and he knew. At that moment he let me go and mind-link our parents who were overjoyed. But I didn’t stay near him. I was on the hunt and I needed to find my mate. I looked around searching for what it  seemed like forever and I felt my heart stop as I locked eyes with a blue eyes blond hair stature of a man. He looked at him and smiled kindly as he walked to me and grabbed me anger was fuming off of him as he shoved me against the stone wall. "Not mine." he growls as he takes a breath of me. Me and my wolf stunned. *But this is our mate!* we both say in unison.
