It's a bond that brings happiness, support, and a sense of belonging. So, cherish your friendships and hold them close, because they are truly special.
CHAPTER 1 - BEGINNING OF AN UNFORGETTABLE FRIENDSHIP
On my first day of school, I was so elated . My sister took me to school in order to make enquiry regarding the school fees and uniforms. Having done that, we bid ourselves farewell. Then I realized life goes beyond my former school and family . I took a test in order to be sure if I fit in that class, JSS 1. I discovered that I was not the only new student that day, we were two. We took the test and went to class where we asked to introduce ourselves to the whole class, that was when I discovered the girl's name was Zaynab Shonibare. I didn't have a place to sit when I got to class, immediately I saw a girl who pushed her friend away just for me to sit. I was so happy I made some friends on that day. I later got to know their names. The one who pushed her friend is "KAOTHAR" and the other "TAOFEEQAH"
Kaothar is a tall girl with a dark skin while Taofeeqah was of average height, we were of same age. Kaothar is jovial, brilliant and funny girl. Taofeeqah is fun to be around.
In my former school we closes around 1 o'clock . I was so happy that time has come for me to go home, I strapped my bag, on getting downstairs, I was told they wanted to pray and will return to class for academic activities. I was down but my friend gave me reason to want to be in school. School became a place I want to be . But we haven't become so close for them to tell me their secret. So whenever they want to say something secretive, they set me aside, I felt neglected but I didn't show it. There was a day my friends asked me who I like, I told them , that was the day our friendship became stronger, we began to tell each other everything. The interesting part was that we attended same MADRASAH (Arabic school). People commended me for being friends with them. They said I chose good people to be friends with. As time goes on, I became part of the brilliant people in my class.
We became 4 musketeers, alongside with Zaynab, I haven't mentioned her right?, Zaynab is a black skin girl with an average height, she is so calm but loves to argue. She was a part of the group before I joined. We named ourselves "HAKATZ"
HA for Habeebah
KA for Kaothar
T for taofeeqah
Z for zaynab
Then zaynab started acting weird, she loves pretending, she likes people giving her the attention, she want people to always listen. One thing I loved about her was that she loves to argue. She acted so strange that we were always complaining about her. Zaynab started her weird behavior, then we all conclude that we can't be friends with her after several warnings. Then we reduced to three. Zaynab was doing fine without us. She made a new friend, Hameedah Adeyiga. We were happy for her.
There was a girl in my class at that time, her name is Aisha, she was so brilliant but due to bad peers, she didn't have the ability to conquer. One of our seniors , Qareebah, noticed her and pleaded with us to let her join us, we agreed. Aisha was gentle , jovial, funny to be around. She is serious and playful at the appropriate time. We were always sidelined in class because teachers do think we were too serious to misbehave. They tried to separate us by changing our seat also but we ended up sitting together.
CHAPTER 2 - SHARED ADVENTURES
We started celebrating our birthday when we entered JSS3 . Taofeeqah's birthday was always celebrated even though we were broke. Aisha was always the supplier. We enjoyed . We made sure it was after school, then we go to the back of the school and celebrate.
Taofeeqah's birthday is March 5
Kaothar's birthday is June 7
Aisha's birthday is April 4
Habeebah's birthday is August 5.
We made a lot of memories:
–There was a time when I lost kaothar's glasses by mistake. I was playing with her that day with the glasses in my hand, then It fall into a block . She cried and was annoyed because she couldn't see very well without her glasses. I was nervous because we destroyed the block in search of the glasses but all to no avail. The owner of the block asked but we didn't say anything because we were scared , she told me I was going to buy a new glass so I bought the unrecommended glasses just for the main time . She took the blame and her parents bought a new one for her.
– The day Mr Ibrahim sent kaothar and Aisha out of the class, they promised not to ever laugh again but that was a lie.
–There was this time , I and kaothar were disturbing in Ustadh Shakir's class, the moment he faced back, he sent Taofeeqah out of the class.
–I remember the time Kaothar slapped Fadlullah because of her crown but it was all a misunderstanding.
–The time ustaz mu'min used to send us out of the class because we use to disturb him.
–The time I wanted to submit my book to Mr Kenny at school two , and I was putting on a white, Jumat wear, then I fell down, kaothar laughed and the same time , she was begging me.
If kaothar should tell you sorry, don't believe her o, she will be laughing at you.
–Aisha happened to be a girl that doesn't know how to control her laughter, so anytime Kaothar made a joke, we will laugh out loud, once the teacher faces back, Aisha will be the only one laughing and she will be punished.
– The time Taofeeqah was singing " everybody blow your trumpet in class" ,Ustadh Habeeb thought it was kaothar, she was dealt with that day.
–The time Mr saleem had a crack voice, Taofeeqah was mimicking him, he warned her severally, Taofeeqah thought he was kidding, the moment she did it again, Mr saleem slapped her.
CHAPTER 3 -CHALLENGES
When we got SS1, I had a male friend named JIMOH MUHAMMAD. I enjoyed every moment we spent together as friends. He was a good friend though, I wish everyone had a friend like him. If I needed anything, he was always there. He advised me when I need it.But I guess having a male and female best friend at the same time is a mistake. Muhammad and I were closed to the extent that we tell each other everything but I guess things were not meant to be. My mother knows him well.
Little did I know that things were not right between my male bestie and my female bestie. They weren't cool with each other. The tension then was much because Muhammad and Me were always fighting, I am always complaining about his changed attitude . I don't know who to believe again but I guess he can't take it anymore then we became strangers again. Kaothar and Muhammad weren't in good terms but I wasn't aware so it is what it is. Due to this situation, I was always writing letters to Muhammad.
So there was a day, I wrote him a letter, so I was about giving him the letter , I shouted his name but he didn't answer me , that was I noticed his strange behavior but I guess something's aren't meant to be. During that time I was broken because He was always saying that Kaothar was controlling us which we didn't believe. Kaothar is someone that gets angry easily so anytime I talk about Muhammad, she doesn't want to hear about it. So anytime I want to talk to Muhammad, I will make sure kaothar is not around and vice versa. So that was the time I started having problem in my relationship. But at long run, Muhammad and I ended up being a stranger , we are just talking randomly.
So, after our secondary school days . We departed. Kaothar and Taofeeqah were opportuned to get early admission. Kaothar gained admission into Igbinedo in Edo state, Taofeeqah gained admission into Fountain university in Osun state. Some months later , Aisha gained admission into OOU in Ogun state. After 2 years, I gained admission to LASUSTECH in Lagos state. Due to long distance and inconsistency, we lost our connections. A 6 years worth of Friendship but I cherish every moment we have spent together.
CHAPTER 4 -ABSENCE MAKE THE HEART GROW FONDER
This is my conclusion part ,absence really makes the heart grow fonder. After we departed, my heart felt a mix of emotions. I missed our laughter, our deep conversations, and the comfort of your presence. The distance between us made me realize just how much you mean to me. Every day that passed, I longed for our reunions and cherished the memories we shared. And when we finally saw each other again, it was like no time had passed at all. Our bond grew stronger, and I knew then that our friendship was something truly special. So even though we may have been apart for a while, the love and connection we have only grew fonder. I hope we reunite soon, my heart is longing for my friends but if not, I will continue to dwell on our memories together. I miss my friends so much. Our memories together made me realize that no one else can take their place.
