The next morning.
She opened her eyes with a smile on her lips. "Waking up from a lovely dream to a beautiful day. What more could I wish for?" She smiled as she rose from bed.
She couldn't stop thinking about how she was able to use her powers. For the first time in her life, she used it. It was there.
But...
She was worried. It only worked when she held his hand. "Why am I able to use it when I touched him?" She thought, followed by a sigh. "What if my powers come to me if I break his curse?"
"Things are about to change, Celine." She thought, patting her cheeks in excitement. She was so happy she wanted to tell her sister about it, but she controlled herself.
"She'll see for herself when I get the powers." She beamed before she remembered, "I'll need Pat's spellbooks... and, the beta, I didn't ask how to communicate with him."
"Gosh!" She ran her hands through her hair. "I should get that book first."
She knew her sister would have gone for her early morning jog, and she had to quickly take the book from her sister's room before she would find out.
She walked to her sister's room and opened the door slowly. "Don't mind me, sister. I'll just borrow it for a short time." She smiled as she quickly went through her sister's bookshelf.
"Where the hell is it?" She searched each book, checking its title until she finally found the one she was looking for. "There you are."
She flipped the book open and smiled. She turned to leave, but before she could take a step forward, the door opened.
She quickly hid the book behind her.
Pat scanned her before asking. "What are you doing here?"
"I... I came here to check on you." She knew her excuse was lame, but she couldn't think of any other. "What about you... I mean, what's wrong?" She asked, noticing how her sister wasn't bothered about that but was looking worried.
Pat sighed. Her eyes were on her phone as she walked towards her bed to sit. "I got a call now that Mr. Davis had an accident last night."
"Oh my goodness! Is he alright?" Celine asked but didn't get any reply. Instead, her sister kept her gaze on her phone. "We should visit him in the hospital."
Celine's eyes widened as she forced out a laugh. "We?"
"Yes, we. He's in the hospital, Celine." She looked up to her.
Celine sighed. She didn't know when she moved her hands and revealed what she was hiding. "I know, but...
Before she could finish her words, she heard. "So that's why you came to my room."
She realized she had shown her sister the spellbook she was trying to hide. "I need it for something important, Pat. I'll return it. Please." She begged with a smile, but her sister was just staring at her before she suddenly smirked.
"No, Pat."
She knew the meaning behind the smirk.
"You know it already. Go with me to the hospital, and you can use the book for a week." Celine looked at the book, unsatisfied. She didn't want to follow her sister to the hospital because her sister was trying to get her and Mr. Davis's son together, but she needed the book really badly.
Getting her powers was more important to her, and she didn't care if she had to visit the entire hospital in the city. "I'll go."
She went back to her room to get dressed.
In about an hour, they were in front of the hospital. Crash where I said she didn't care if she had to visit the whole hospital in the city.
"Why best care hospital of all places?" She asked, looking at the big board that spells out the name of the hospital, and, worst of all, his smiling face was on the board with some other doctors.
"What do you mean by that? Let's go. I'm not in the mood for your nonsense." Pat said before entering the building.
She groaned before following her sister. "It's nothing. This hospital is too big to meet everyone in just a day." She said to herself as she waited for her sister, who went to talk to a nurse at the reception. "And also, it's not like I did anything wrong.
"Come on, Celine. We're going to the seventh floor." Pat said, getting her out of her thoughts. They both walked into the elevator.
"Mr. Davis." Pat entered the room after knocking, with Celine also behind her.
"Oh, Miss Mystique. You didn't have to stress yourself." The man said as he tried to sit up in the bed.
"It's no big deal, Mr. Davis. How are you feeling?" Pat asked with a smile, to which the man also replied. "It's getting better. This is my son, Elias. You have met him before, right?" He said, his gaze on the young guy standing at the end of the bed.
"Yes, I have. He looks even more handsome." Pat smiled before stretching his hand to him. "It's nice to see you again, Ellis."
"Same here, Queen Mystique." He smiled back, receiving her handshake.
"This is my sister, Celine. I don't think you both have met." Pat said, pulling Celine, who had been standing quietly behind her.
"Yes, but I've heard a lot about her." He smiled before looking at Celine. "You're exactly like I pictured."
Celine scoffed lightly. It took a lot not to roll her eyes.
Just then, a knock came at the door. A man in a white coat and a lady in a purple scrub entered the room.
"Doctor Liam. You're here." Mr. Davis spoke with a smile.
"Good morning, everyone," Liam said as he noticed the people in the room, to which they also replied him. "Good morning."
"How are you feeling now, Mr. Davis?" Liam asked, looking back at the man.
"I'm much better." The man replied before looking back at Patricia. "You know Doctor Liam, right? He's the beta of the Shadowmoon pack."
"Of course, I know him, even though we haven't had that many encounters. It's nice to meet you, beta." Patricia smiled, stretching her hand for a handshake, which he also received.
"Nice to meet you too, Queen Patricia." He said before his gaze met Celine, standing with a wide smile on her face.
"Hi." She waved her hand at him, surprising every other person in the room except Liam, who just looked away from her like he didn't see her.
"You can have your meal now." He said to Mr. Davis.
"Ok... Elias, please get me something from the cafeteria." He turned to his son, still standing at the edge of the bed.
"I'd have brought something for you to eat on our way here. Celine can also go with him." Pat announced with a smile before looking at Celine, who frowned like she would burst any minute.
She face-palmed herself. All was for what she needed, but it was getting too much to handle. "Can we go after getting the food? I have important things to attend to." She said calmly to her sister, holding back the rage building inside her.
She knew what her sister was trying to do. Setting them up to be alone and talk.
"Of course." Pat smiled.
"After you," Elias spoke behind her.
She sighed and made her way out, walking past Liam, who seemed busy adjusting the IV drip.

She kept her gaze on the elevator numbers, her hand tapping her thigh continuously as it moved down to the third floor.
She kept thinking of how to avoid conversation with him. Just then, she heard him behind her. "You don't look like you wanted to be here."
She swallowed a hard spit, making sure not to look back at him. "Is that an assumption?"
Then, all of a sudden, his laughter filled the space. "The way you talk. Your expression. That's not ladylike."
Celine finally turned to him. She held her hand in a tight fist to prevent pulling blood out of his face. He had a smug smile on his face that made her body crawl.
Just then, the elevator opened, and he stepped out. She also walked behind him, having no choice. They walked to the cafeteria, and he ordered food.
Just when she thought the conversation was done, he continued. "It must be so sad... Being a witch without having the right quality. I understand that my dad is doing your sister a favor...
He couldn't complete his words when Celine cut him off. "Favor?" She scoffed before looking up at him. "More like she's doing the favor."
He sneered, "You're one without powers, little witch, or should I say fake witch."
"And you and your fathers are one without position or fame." She raised her voice at him, forgetting she was in public.
He looked around, his face wrinkled. "How dare you! No one wants you. That's why your sister is throwing you at me!"
Immediately, a loud voice cut through them. "That's enough!"
