She kept tossing and turning in bed the entire night, unable to sleep.
The image of last night played vividly in her head. She was sure she saw that the guy was cursed, but strangely, she couldn't use any powers or see anything more than that.
"Did I see wrong? No, that's not possible. He should have at least confirmed if I was right." She sat up from the bed and groaned. The incident was too much for her to take in. She sighed before walking into her bathroom.
"Good morning." She said as she walked down the stairs, looking at the lady having her breakfast alone in the dining room. She walked towards her and hugged her from behind, but she didn't move nor talk. "Are you still angry at me?"
"The dress costs a lot." She heard her say, which made her smile.
She sat opposite her. "I said I'll buy you another." She knew her sister wasn't angry about the dress. She was probably angry at how she spoke to Mr Davis.
Still, Pat didn't say anything. She just kept eating in silence.
Celine also took some food on a plate and started eating, but she hadn't eaten up to three spoons when she asked. "Speaking of yesterday, who was that guy who saved that maid at the party?"
Pat finally looked up at her, but instead of answering, she asked. "Which guy?"
She dropped her cutlery on the plate to explain more better to her sister, who looked confused. "The guy that saved that maid from getting pounced on. The maid that spilt drinks on one of the guests."
"You mean the beta." Pat said.
"The beta? That guy is the beta?!" She asked, her eyes almost popping out of its socket.
Pat was surprised to see her acting like that. Her sister, Celine, never ceased to amaze her, but her talking about the beta all of a sudden was out of question. "Yes. Why did you suddenly grow interest in the beta?"
"It's nothing." She said before going quiet again. She remembered the rich woman also referred to him as beta.
"Is this possible? Oh my goodness! I'm losing my mind." She inhaled a deep breath before looking back at her sister. "Do you think he has a wolf? I mean, have you ever felt that he might be cursed?"
Immediately, she heard a sound of clinkering of plates. Her sister had dropped the cutlery on the plate suddenly. "What is this about, Celine?" She asked, followed by a sigh.
"What do you think will happen to you if anyone hears what you're talking about? The beta doesn't have a wolf? What did you drink so early in the morning?" Pat asked, wondering what had come over her again so early in the morning.
But... Celine couldn't finish her words. Explaining what she felt last night would surely make her sister doubt her, and she would look at her as if she had gone crazy.
Her sister had always told her to forget about her powers. If her powers would come, she would have start to use it as soon as she clocked five.
Pat would always say. Not everyone is destined to be the same, likewise powers and strength. Only the moon goddess understands how she plans her things.
But Celine doesn't think that way. Her powers are hidden somewhere, and she could feel it.
"I'm full." She stood up while Pat only sighed in her seat.
She walked out of the house, unable to control the anger building inside her. The anger directed at her sister, and her doubts.
"I'd have to find an answer for what I saw myself. And I can only do that by finding that beta. But how?" She bit her lip, lost in thought.
Not long, the housekeeper walked out of the house to go run an errand when Celine caught sight of her.
"Oh, Mrs Smith. I'm so happy I found you." She held the woman's hands, smiling at her.
"Is everything alright, young miss?" The housekeeper asked with a light smile.
"Yes. I need your help. Do you perhaps know... where the beta of shadowmoon pack lives?" She asked.
She didn't realize how strange and stupid her question was until she saw the woman blinked a few times before answering. "The beta? I don't understand what you're talking about, young miss."
Her smile suddenly froze. Why would she ask such? How would the woman know such? "Oh, I'm sorry." She said weakly before turning away to leave. There was no way the woman would have an answer to that. "Maybe I should go to their pack's house?" She thought.
She was pushed out of her thoughts when she heard. "Well, if you're talking about beta Liam. I don't know where he stays, but I know the hospital he works at."
Celine turned back at the woman. "His name is Liam, and he's a doctor? Wow." She thought.
"I do know a maid that works in his house."
"You do? That's good. You can get me the address from her." She said, squeezing the woman's hands lightly.
"Is everything okay? I think I should speak to Miss Patricia." The woman said, knowing how Celine doesn't like staying out of trouble.
"No! She screamed all of a sudden, surprising the woman.
"The thing is... He saved me at the party yesterday, and I didn't get the chance to thank him properly." She lied, but the woman looked unconvinced.
"You should go to his hospital nstead." The woman said, making Celine sigh in frustration, but still she kept her cool. "A friend told me he won't be coming to his hospital for like... two weeks."
The housekeeper didn't believe her excuses, but she helped anyway. "Fine, I'll get the address. I just hope you'll stay out of trouble, young miss."
"Sure," She replied, smiling before walking towards her packed scooter. She wore her helmet, got on the scooter, and drove out of the compound.

She looked at the gate of the house back to the address the woman had sent minutes ago. It wasn't a huge house like theirs. It's a modern, beautiful house painted white. She wondered how the interior would look like.
"Will he want to talk to me?" She aked herself, still looking at the house.
"Gosh, why are you judging him with his house, Celine. He seemed... nice." She muttered to herself before pressing the door bell attached on the wall close to the gate.
"Hello. What can I do for you?" She heard a voice say some seconds after she had pressed the button.
Immediately, her head went blank. What was she supposed to say?" She thought, looking for an excuse to give. She didn't think about that before pressing the button.
"Um... Hi. I'm beta Liam's patient, and he asked me to see him today."
She noticed the voice suddenly became quiet, and at that point, she knew she had given a dumb answer. She face palmed herself. What was she thinking?
"I'm sorry, miss. You should go to his hospital instead." She heard the voice again. It was over. She had to give such a stupid excuse. She moved away from the gate before she would get suspected.
"What should I do now? Should I just go to where he works? What if I'm unable to see him? Gosh, I just need to see him. Nothing more." She said, looking at the house from a distance.
"No. I can't give up this way. I know what to do." She got over her scooter and drove away.
She wasn't the type to give up. Not when it concerns what she had desperately wanted for years. That was her only way to prove she's not cursed, and she'd do anything for it.
He was the first person she had seen such on, and she would make sure she confirmed it.

Her gaze was on the gate, staring intently at it. The time had already added five hours . "Should I ring it again?" She asked herself.
"No, I shouldn't. Why should I do now?" She kept talking to herself.
Not too long, a car drove towards the gate and honked at her. She turned around.
She didn't see who was in the car, but she guessed he was the one. There is her opportunity. The moon goddess had come to her aid.
The gate of the house opened. She couldn't let her opportunity slip away. She needed to act fast.
Suddenly, she stood in front of the car as the driver was about to enter, the car almost hitting her
She was crazy. She knows. But what could she do. She would do anything to confirm what she saw.
