The big pack meeting was in the open space behind the packhouse.
When we got there, almost a hundred wolves were already waiting. Some looked like people, some were in wolf form lying in the sun. Families stood together. Warriors stood in straight lines. Little kids ran around laughing.
These were my people. My family. The ones who raised me.
And today they would learn I will be their future Luna.
My tummy hurt from being scared.
Dane took my hand and held it soft. “Breathe.”
“I am breathing.”
“Your face is white.”
“That is my normal color.”
