Chapter Sixteen

While we were still on the bed I looked at Chris playing with his phone.

" Babe, what if I get pregnant, will you break up with me?"

" Gelly, why will I leave you with our baby alone. Wait are you pregnant?"

" I don't know, why are you happy like come to think of it, if I get pregnant my parents will go hard on us. I won't be able to handle the pressure this type besides.."

" Gelly, didn't we handle the pressure together. Please if you are pregnant just let me know okey"

Although he was excited when I gave him the clue, I still can't imagine myself pregnant. I began to feel uncomfortable a week later, I started feeling pain on my lower abdomen, I get dizzy at work, started sleeping excessively. I knew something was off when I missed my menstrual period and when I could feel my breast is getting bigger and painful.

After work, I went to a pharmacy and bought a pregnancy test tube. I dipped it in my urine, kept it for about five minutes before checking. Indeed there were double lines. I was scared, my mind ran through my mind.

" My love"

I was startled when Ciara called my name. Before I could hide the test tube, she already seen it.

" You are pregnant but how come you don't look happy. Chris will be so happy"

" I don't want to keep the baby"

" You have a guy that loves you and he is financially stable so why don't you want to keep your baby"

" Ciara please do me one last favor, if I can't get rid of this baby then I would commit suicide".

"Are you really sure about this?"

"Please just do this last thing for me"

When my driver drove us to the hospital I saw Ciara playing with her phone and knew she might be talking to Chris. I decided to do the needful before Chris get here.

As if I read her mind. Immediately after I took the injection and pills. I saw Chris running into the hospital. I was quite surprised at first but then I ran out, took a bike and went to Ciara's house. My cover is blown, I don't think my relationship with Chris will continue. This is the first time I'm disobeying him. When Ciara got home I thought I would have died then. But she immediately opened the door and helped me in. I could feel pains all over my abdomen. It feels like I'm inside an oven. I could hear Ciara calling Chris on the phone.

I was half asleep when Chris came in;

" This is not the time to get angry, help her overcome this else she might lose her life"

Chris came closer although I tried to keep him away but I just couldn't get him out the way. I started feeling the pain again. It keeps increasing, I wasn't bleeding but I kept vomiting. At this point, I could only hold Chris's hand as tight as I could. My body was shaking. Chris kept crying as he keeps saying sorry. It's certainly the first time I'm seeing tears in his eyes. I knew immediately that Chris is really serious about me. He keeps begging me to be strong. I had diarrhea and kept vomiting. I could not sleep through out the night.
