Damian's POV

A sweet scent woke the sleeping nerves in my body..

My eyes searched for the source of the sweet scent. There were many students that stood looking up in front of the platform.

It was crowded but I found it-- the scent. I found her.

The scent was coming from a girl that stood upright while listening to the speech. 

She has a slender body, really pale white skin, black long wavy hair and red lips, that seemed natural.

She's really beautiful. Just looking at her made my heart pound a million times.

She is here. I found her. I can even feel the happiness in my wolf.

We watched over the fence of the school as we were all late intentionally, because we decided this was a horrible idea.

My Dad's idea.

Living closely among the humans as we need to learn to deal with them, but we still kept our distance, not wanting them near us.

Not that we need education, we were a lot older than these kids. It's just for front.

We've been trying to live among them for years, and years, but this time it's different. 

We were forced to leave our hometown, we were thrown out by the Maior by voting and granting favor on that f*****g guy that makes my blood boil.

My father had to deal with getting our position back after that. Still keeping his head low from the higher ups and bowing to them---that made me sick to the core. 

Cut the story short, here we are in this town trying to live with these humans.

Goldenleaf is not that bad but I hate that it had too many street lights.

We came here months ago, claiming a part of this town to be our private territory and threw out a couple of garbages, but only this time we decided to really go out and deal with our f*****g lives.

I wiff another one from her scent, drowning my nostrils as I looked at her and she felt my presence too.

Mate

I feel my senses heightened and get excited.

My wolf is also excited to meet her. The only problem is how am I going to meet her, we can't be around too much.

She's human.

"Damian speech is over. Let's go" I looked at my pack calling for me and looked back again to the girl.

She wasn't there anymore, just the other students dispersing to their rooms.

I let out a heavy sigh.

I want to see her again.

And I got to see her again in the third period, first and second period was rather boring.

We went inside the classroom as instructed. I stayed at the back to get a good look at her without being noticed, yet Anastasia kept clinging onto me when she saw me eyeing up someone. 

Yeah. Damn right eyeing her up really good. I just can't resist it.

Probably my pack already sensed the shift in my mood. 

I saw her looking at me and boy it made me a happy wolf. I want to smile and go to her but this clingy thing is latched onto me.

I kept looking and when my brother was almost finished, I just cut it short to my name.

Just get me a damn sit right next to her, so I can please this excruciating pain inside me, itching to get close to her.

When we were instructed to sit, I saw the vacant sit behind her.

I sat behind her and did not care about anything else.

I saw Anastacia looking at us, but I just didn't care.

She smells nice, beautiful even and I can hear her heart beating faster.

So I had that effect on you huh. I smirked behind her and went on with my day just drowning in her scent.

Third period came by so fast. Like what the f**k I was enjoying it.

We went outside along with the other students. My eyes were searching for her and saw her with Anastacia.

I heard only Ana talking and my teeth gritted by the way I was being claimed by this woman.

She's not my woman at all. She's a pack member that thinks she can get a way to the title of being my Luna. 

I was shocked with what I heard next.

"I'm not interested in your man" I hear her whisper to her and walk away with a smile.

I felt shattering to pieces and becoming angry at the same time.

I went to Anastacia grabbing her and directing all my anger to her now. 

We went back to our place near the city forest, good thing there is one and this is where we stay now.

"Damian why are you mad at me?" she asked while fluttering her lashes at me.

The boys were sitting on tree trunks that fell down and became a bench. Looking at us and waiting for me to respond.

"You crossed the line. You were too close to a human" I said angrily while the phrase kept echoing in my head.

I'm not interested in your man. 

I'm not even hers to begin with. I'm yours. 

"Really? I crossed the line? I saw you eyeing her up Damian! Like a snack!" she said while crossing her arms to her chest. 

"Damy.. Don't be mad at her she's just protective" I hear Seb, his the only one who calls me Damy and I f*****g hate it.

Still raging mad as I pace back and forth to calm down.

"Why are you like that over a frail little human? If you want we can share, she seems tasty" I heard Anastacia's taunt and bitter words while smiling. 

That does it.

Talking s**t about her makes me really angry.

"She's your Luna! She's my mate!" 

I growled at them and they were shocked. Silent. 

"Are you sure Damian?" Now Seb is serious.

I nod and smiled weakly.

"How do you know?" Seb prying and looking down at me as I sit now in the fallen tree trunks cause I'm exhausted.

I am exhausted, I just got a whiff of her scent and now I'm craving for it, like I'm gonna lose it any minute.

"I just know, I'm aching and agitated after we left the school grounds. I can smell her from afar. I can't get enough of it" my face covered with my palm frustrated. 

"What if she's a Witch and you're under her spell" Castor finally speaks, and I wished he just kept his mouth shut. 

"I know for a fact when I smell a witch and she does not smell one" I said, keeping my tone down and calming my raging nerves.

I felt a light tap at my shoulder and a sigh from my brother.

"We'll look into that but as for now we can't be sure. You can't just let her in the pack. We have to be sure."

Always the perfect responsible one Seb, and this time I'll definitely let them handle this since I'm out of my senses now. 

I missed her already. I want to see her.

Night came and I did the stupidest thing...

Dragged Seb in the place where my feet ached to go.

In front of that girls house just a few feet. I followed her scent and it led me to a two storey house, it was simple and it had fences that I can probably hop on.

The lights were still on in one room, I'm guessing it's hers.

"Remind me again why are we here?" Seb with his complaining tone.

He drove me here and kept complaining that I'd be dead if father found out we snuck out to look for a girl.

What am I? A kid? I'd do what I want.

"You said we need to be sure. That's why we're here." I continued to look at her window, now it's dark and she must've slept.

"You're crazy man. Over a girl" Seb shakes his head in disbelief.

I got out of the car and looked over the area, it was a bit far from the town but there are a few houses if you go down the block.

The back of their house seems to be part of the forest that we bought. 

She was close all this time but I didn't get to sense her before we came here, not until today. It doesn't make sense.

Seb also got out of the car giving it a light thud. 

Before I got to say anything, I stopped and alerted my stance.

A wolf was in front of us, with its grayish white coat, snarling and making prey steps slowly. 

Seb held out his hands. "We thought no more rouges were in this area."

Obviously they did slack of a job for not clearing every wolf out, especially rouges. 

"Remind me to punish you when we get home"

I told him keeping my eyes on the wolf while it steps slowly.

"Oh come on. I drove you here!"

I hear him complain but my eyes were set on the pair of eyes that will lounge us at any moment.

I gritted my teeth and showed him I'm an Alpha or yet to be. It's just a matter of overpowering and dominating.

He needs to submit to me as he is a mere rouge, lone-wolf, abandoned but dangerous.

It suddenly shifted into its human form, a male with white blonde hair long lengthening to his shoulder.

He eyed me slowly and I did not even blinked as he might pounce at me or Seb if I got distracted.

He stopped inches from our car.

"This is my territory. What do you need?" He has a raspy voice.

I hesitated to speak at his disrespectful tone. So Seb did the talking.

"We were in the area and we have our claim on the property here"

"Your claim was the forest out there at the back, not in this area" He replied.

"I get it you're a rogue but this is not your territory pal. You better leave before Alpha here starts snapping your neck" Seb continued.

The blonde man looked at me as if inspecting me.

"Alpha? He is yet to be Alpha" 

Oooh this man really wants some.

"Yes yet to be an Alpha but as you know by law the next Alpha is to be respected. He can kill you anytime of the day he wants"

The guy scoffed. He f*****g scoffed.

Why is he not submitting, most rogues submit immediately when they see me as I smell like my father.

The real Alpha.

"I know of your father and your smell. But like I told you this is my territory. I suggest you both leave." 

There is something about him that seemed dominant but he smells like a rouge.

Speaking of smell.

"I didn't get a whiff of your scent close to us. How did you do it?" I asked and Seb looked at the guy.

He just smiled. "The more you know the more I will have to kill you dear Alpha" 

That does it. I am so ready for you shithead.

"Adel!" I heard a voice.

A wonderful symphony that rang inside my eardrums. It belonged to my mate.

My eyes darted at her as if there is no danger in front of me.

She was in her nightgown, silk robe and holding a lamp searching for something she was calling Adel?

I saw the guy shifting back to its wolf form and running towards a tree, then went straight at her.

That moment I knew what was going to happen, quickly I was about to run for her as I feared she might be in danger, but I was stopped by Seb. 

"What the f**k Seb? She might be in danger!" angry at him in gritted teeth but keeping my tone down.

"Calm down and look." He pointed at the girl. 

My eyes widened and grief fell over my face.

She was touching the wolf's fur, she was even hugging it and inviting it inside the house.

I couldn't believe it. 

She was his and he was right, this is his territory.

Anger was building up again but mostly I felt hurt. Betrayed.

How can she even betray me? She doesn't even know I'm her mate. 

I punched the backside of the car, it made a mark and went inside the passenger seat.

I also hear Seb crying for the dent I made on his car, but I can't control my emotions now. 

I was angry, very angry.
