CHAPTER SIX: THE ANDERSON'S PARTY

"Alexa, you need to get married"
"What? Why?" I exclaimed.
" The past is going to reoccur. This time, More toxic. You can't handle it alone. You'll need someone by your side. Besides, I'm getting old enough"
"What the heck are you talking about? You're speaking in parables and I'm freaked out. What past? I want to know who this people are" I said, demanding.
"No!"She snapped.
"Then why this all of a sudden"
"Alexa,I would not be at rest if you don't fulfil my wish"
"Oh.... Don't say that.. Mom.... Nothing is gonna happen to you. I'll be alright without a husband "
"Alexa.... This is my wish and I want you to do it for my sake. You are more than old enough to get married, so please fulfil my very wish" .My mom said calmly and sighed heavily after a while
"Mom.....why do you desperately want me to get married ?. Is there anything I need to know?"
"Urm.... Alexa, I'm just saying this because I just want a man by your side who would support you , protect you,love you and cherish you .... There's nothing else attached to it "
"So who do you suggest for me to marry "
"Hmmm... How about Jason Anderson? You've gone out on a date twice now "
I chuckled dramatically " Mom... wait,let me get this straight... Do you expect me to propose to him in order to get married as you wish"
"I didn't mean_"
"Then how mom? I don't love him. I want to get married to someone I love and cherish. Not to some guy I don't even like or know " I said, trying to be calm.
"I also want that for you. But you have to do this for me at this situation "
"What situation?" I quiered, urging her to speak.
"Alexa... you won't understand."
"Make me understand, Mom," I said with teary eyes.
"They... they... Alexa, you need someone by your side. I need you to get married. The past would reoccur" she said, frightened.
"Mom... what's going on? Who's going to hurt you?"
She adjusted and held my shoulder with affection.
"I want you to attend the party tomorrow, please."
"Mom, don't change this topic."
"Cici!" my mum yelled.
She ran in.
"I'm hungry!" Mrs. Leonard stood up and touched her stomach, indicating she was hungry.
"Come and join us, honey." She smirked at me and walked to the dining.

SYDNEY'S POV
I sat at the dining, using my fork to play with my food. I had no appetite. I was thinking about Jason all day. I tried reaching him, but it wasn't just working. I'd planned to go to his party' and get to see him.
I heard footsteps, and Olivia came, sitting next to me.
I kept mute and continued playing with my fork.
"What's up?" Olivia said, smiling.
"You are getting on my nerves, Olivia... just leave me alone."
"When are you going to get over this Jason guy? I know he's actually hot, but do you still have a hit on him?"
"Hey... learn to mind your own business."
"I'm your sister, Sydney. There are many cute guys out there falling for you, desperately begging for you. So just forget this Jason Anderson guy."
"Oh- Instead of you minding your own business, why don't you get yourself out of this house and go get married? You just lay in bed doing nothing all day, eat and spend money aimlessly. Now you act all bossy and useless. Meanwhile, you're old enough to get married. So get married and get out of my f*****g life!" I said furiously and touched my temple in rage.
"What am I even saying? What do you know about about love! You just get dumped by every fool you come across. So you know nothing about love. You don't know what it is to truly want someone, to never let someone go. So just shut the hell up and mind your business!" I finally said with more rage.
Olivia looked at me with teary eyes. A drop of tears rushed on her cheeks immediately. She wiped it off and rose angrily, her hand shaking. She stood up abruptly, no longer interested.

I used the mascara on my lashes and applied the lip gloss on my lips. I looked into the mirror and admired myself. I imagined how all the eyes at the party would be on me tonight, cause I looked gorgeous. I smirked at this thought " Their mouths would water once they catch a glimpse of me".
Barbara walked intoy room, she looked radiant. She wore a blue cocktail dress which had a cutting that exposed her beautiful thigh. Her hair was styled gorgeously. She wore a silver earrings and a matching necklace. Her makeup was lovely.
"Oh my gosh, you look beautiful Alexa" Barbara said delightfully.
"I was about to say the same thing to you. I am dazed by your beauty"
"Hun.. Thanks peach"
"I hope you get a real boyfriend tonight" I said
"I have a boyfriend you know"
"He hasn't asked you out yet. I'm not sure he even likes you" I said flatly.
She scoffed. "Whatever "
"Shall we...... b***h " I stretched my hand to her and she smiled.
We went downstairs and my mom was dressed gorgeously.....I must say.
"You girls look beautiful " My mom complimented.
"Thanks mom, you look great too"
"Yes, Mrs Leonard. You look younger"
"Thanks Barbara"
"Is Austin coming?" I asked.
"Probably..... He's still at work. He told me he was invited, so he should be able to come"
"Ohh... great then"
We got in the car and drove off.....
JASON'S POV
"You look handsome and charming " Jenifer said to me, squealing with a bit of sarcasm.
I rolled my eyes " Whatever "
"You better get a wife soon " She said with a smirk.
"That applies to you too" I replied with the same gesture.
I wore a black tailored suit with a white shirt that exposed my chest a bit.
I had caught a glimpse of squealing ladies over me. I smirked to myself and kept my hands in my pockets to seem more attractive.
I was dazed at two elegant ladies who walked in.
Jace came closer with his hands in his pockets. He whispered " Elegante (meaning elegant in Spanish)
It turned out to be Alexa and whoever was with her. I smiled awkwardly And I guessed she did the same.
ALEXA'S POV
I entered the hall and saw him with his charming appearance. I was caught off guard by this charm. I stared intensely at him,I caught him smiling, could I have imagine it? I walked
Up to him
"Hi "Jason said. .. with a flat smile
"Hey" I replied
"You look great" Jason said
"Great!!". Barbara exclaimed........ with a scoff.
I hitted her slightly with my elbow
"Let me introduce you to my family' He winked with a broad smile and held my waist.
His touch...... Immediately aroused me... I started thinking erotically... I shaked my head and dismissed those erotic thought.
"What are you doing?"I said in a whisper
"Just play along..... Miss Leonard . You are here as
my girlfriend.....Is that Okay? "He said silently
"Whatever" I replied .
"I brought my mom too...So play along too "I said .
"Okay.... He held my waist tighter. I shuddered at his delicate touch .
"Hey mom"He said immediately he walked up to her
"Beautiful" Mrs Anderson complicated with a smile
"This is Alexa..."He got interrupted by his mom
"Leonard, I know son .I was the one who arranged the blind date "
"Oh, right" He rolled his eyes and smiled.
Mrs Anderson was a gorgeous woman, She was
dressed luxurious,dazzling from heard to toe.
A stunning lady walked over to Us.
She had a blond hair, blue eyes, short eyelashes, pink lips and and a sexy body curves."Wow.. if it isn't Jason's girlfriend "The lady said, folding her arms with a slight Chuckle. A rather confusing one.
"Alexa, this is Jenifer, my sister " Jace Introduced, reluctantly as it seemed.
"Elder sister " She said with a bit of pride and sarcasm. "Great to meet you, Alexa. You're pretty" She complimented. But ut seemed off
"Thanks Jenifer. You look beautiful" I forced the words out but wasn't really obvious.
She swayed her hair.. dramatically. "I hear that all the time" She said, prideful.
My mom appeared with Austin.
"Austin!" Jennifer said.... shocked.
"Jennifer!" He called back in unison.
"Suzan!" My mom exclaimed
"Jessica " Mrs Anderson said.. bewildered.
"Okay, what's happening?" I and Jason said in unison.
SYDNEY'S POV
"Are you attending the party?" My mom asked
"Yeah" I said, without looking at her.
"Let's get in the car and go together" My mom said.
"Not gonna work... I can go on my own" I said bluntly.
"Okay"
I watched Olivia and my mom leave for the party.
I dialed in Jace's number.
It rang repeatedly and he finally answered the phone.
"Hey"
"Hi, urm.. Jace. So, I was thinking of coming_" I got interrupted.
"Don't try coming to the party"
"Why?"
" Cause he'll get mad"
"It will be fine..... Just want to talk to him "
"His girlfriend is here. So, don't come and create a scene"
"Girlfriend?" I asked , furiously.
"Yes, you heard me right. So, please don't think of coming... please. The party is going smoothly."
"I get it.... Okay " I said with a convincing tone. I was already losing it.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yes of course" I said, boiling with rage. But I tried sounding calm.
He ended the call and I threw myself on the sofa.
