CHAPTER TWO: THE BLIND DATE

I got to my office a bit late....I woke up really late due to the constant headache from the alcohol I had last night.
Being the boss, I could get there anytime though but I had some documents to work on.
After working on the laptop for over an hour, I handed it over to Mr Patrick, My secretary. I needed to make arrangements for the blind date and I really needed to talk to my mom.
I drove home and entered the mansion.
"Why weren't you home last night?" My mom asked worriedly.
"Mom, I'm old enough to go wherever I want to and Moreover, Didn't Austin come home last night?"
" None of you both came home last night"
" Well, I told Austin that I wouldn't be coming home last night "
" So..do you have any idea where he might be now"
"Nope, but he told me he had an appointment with one of his business associate" I said and sat next to her.
"So how has it been going.....Work?" My mom asked.
"Well, the hotels are progressing and Mr Patrick has been doing his best. We're actually working on building another hotel and Lounge at Los Angeles."
"Wow, that's great. Patrick really took after his father."
"Yeah....so mum.." I sighed..."I've decided to go on the blind dates you have arranged for me" I said with a bright smile. She's going to be so excited.
"Are you serious about this?" She asked with a stunned expression.
"Yeah, sure"
She hugged me tightly "Thanks so much Alexa, I'm so happy " She said with a really wide smile.
"I'm doing this just once" I made it clear
"I promise.... you'll love this guy"
"Do you...erm.. have any of his pictures "
"Actuallyyyyy.....I don't. But I know few things about him" She said emphasizing on the"y" word.
"Okay, so just tell me what you know"
"Emm...His name is Jason Anderson. He's twenty six. He's from a wealthy home. His dad owns a big press company"Anderson's Reality Show" and Hiss mom owns the biggest salon and spa in the City"
"Hmm..I see"
"That's the information I could get...
So the date is fixed for tomorrow. Perhaps, is it too early for you?"
" No, it's okay mom"
She hugged me again and kissed me on the cheeks .
"You'll love him"
"I hope so" I muttered under my breath.

"Sydney?" Mrs Stones called.
She was an elegant woman... And of course, her daughter took after her beautiful features.
Sydney came out of her room with a short and flowery tank top. She raised her eyebrows at her mom... wanting to know the reason why she was being called.
"I want to have a word with you "
"Okay... duhh, I'm all hears " Sydney said with her eyes glued to her phone.
"Come over and sit"
"Hey, I don't want to talk to you..okay?
Just because I came out does mean you can start a conversation with me or lecture Me. I gat other important things to do than sitting for a meaningless conversation " Sydney said with a loud hiss and walked back to her room.
"What am I going to do with her?" Mrs Stones sighed heavily.

The next day, I dressed up gorgeously. I wore an armless top which was dazzling with a short black skirt which was fit.
I wore my jewelries, styled my hair and put on make up.
I then walked downstairs. My mom and Austin stared at me in amazement.
"Wow...you look stunning "My mum complimented.
"Not bad... Enjoy your date" He said sarcastically and stressed out the word "date". It was annoying.
"Enjoy your date darling" My mum said and laughed slightly. She touched my face and looked at me excitedly.
I kissed her cheek and walked out with a smirk.
"She's indeed beautiful" My mom said.
"Yeah, she is" Austin said with a scoff.
I hoped this was going to work.
On my way, I called Barbara.
"Hey babe"
" What's up?"
"I'm in my car right now, on my way to "Nadine's recipe" ( A popular restaurant where many celebrities go for different occasions) for the blind date with Jason Anderson."
"Oh my God! Did u just say Jason Anderson?" She squealed over the phone. "That guy is f**king charming. I think......."
The line broke off.
"Hello, hello .... Barbara " I tried calling her back but her line wasn't reachable.
I hoped she was okay.
I got to "Nadine's recipe" and noticed the beautiful sight of the restaurant. I saw a guy waving at Me from where he sat. I smiled and walked over to him.
He was indeed a handsome young man.
His hair was black and styled, his eyes blue like the oceans, his lips, gorgeous. He had a sexy and charming face.
He really is my Prince charming.
I was lost in his charm that I stared intensely At him . While staring at his gorgeous face, I realized that I've met him before, but I don't seem to remember where....
Oh yes! I remembered.
At the club...the fool who spilled alcohol on my dress.
I changed my lustful expression immediately.
“You—” I said in rage.
“Hey, Miss Alexa, what’s wrong?” the young man asked, sounding completely confused.
“You… could you pretend not to remember? To know what’s wrong?”
“I’m sorry, I don’t understand.”
I rolled my eyes angrily and yanked away from his hand on my arm.
“Then let go of me,” I said, fuming with anger. There was no one around because the restaurant was reserved only for this occasion.
“Hey, pretty lady, I don’t understand why you are reacting this way. Have we met before?”
“Yes! At the club, you threw your glass of alcohol on me! On my way to the restroom, and you couldn’t even apologize. Instead, you insulted me!”
He gave me a confused look. “Me?”
“Oh, yes, you are. Such a pretender!”
“I don’t go to clubs, Miss Alexa. You are mistaken… I—” He paused for a while and smiled.
“Oh, you must have met my twin brother, Jace Anderson. Apologies for not introducing myself first. I’m Jason Anderson. Let’s take a seat and talk about this.”
I was bewildered by this discovery, though I was not ready to trust him. I followed him and took my seat opposite him.
“Have a glass of water first.”
“Is that necessary?”
“Just take it.”
I eventually sipped a little and stared at him, waiting for more explanation.
“Okay, so—I have a twin brother. He’s a really troublesome brother. People mistake us often, but we are really different. You will get to know our differences. Once you meet him, if you don’t believe me, you can ask.”
“I didn’t say I don’t believe you.”
“Good. So, do you need more information?”
“No, I’ve heard enough… My mom has also told me somethings about you.
“Okay, so can I know more about you, pretty?” he said with a charming smile.
My cheeks turned red, but I adjusted immediately.
“Well, I’m Alexa Leornard. I’m twenty-four years old, and I’m the CEO of Gresham Building. I own many hotels and lounges in the country. I have two brothers; those are my only family. There’s still a lot about me… But I don’t trust you,” I said coldly.
“I hesitated saying everything too, because I don’t trust you either,” he said with the same gesture.
I scoffed.
“Waiter!” he called.
The waiter came by and stood before us, bowing his head politely.
“Show us the menu,” Jason said.
He handed the iPad containing the menu. I ordered what I wanted, and he also did.
I brought out my phone and went on the internet, so did he, I guessed.
I scrolled through my phone and I saw he and his twin brother, handsomely dressed. I could see the striking resemble but still needed to see both of them physically in order to signify the differences.
They were actually the Ceo's of a big theatre organisation and different malls in the City.
The waiter brought our orders and left. There was silence in the atmosphere before he finally cleared his throat and said "Are you interested in this date or any relationship"
" Why do you ask?"
"You haven't answered my question"He said.
"You haven't answered mine either"
"I asked first"
"Fine..." I rolled my eyes. "I wasn't in for blind dates in the first place but my mum wants to rush me into any relationship as soon as possible. But I'm doing this, just for her"
"Well, same here. But I need you to do me a favor"
"That is..?"
"Let's pretend to be in a relationship for a while to make our mums happy. Cause as for me, I'm not in for any relationship right now"
" Me neither. That's a great idea though " I said smirking.
"Yeah, I hope you're a great actress" He said with a chuckle.
"Of course "
He smiled at me and my cheeks flushed..
He cracked some jokes and I laughed openly.. He wasn't that bad, it was fun with him.
For about an hour later, we baded each other goodbye and exchanged contacts.
I got home, didn't meet anyone at home.
My mom was at a conference meeting while Austin was at the office.
My phone rang, it was from Steve.
"Hey, Alexa"
"Hi, Steve"
"How are you doing?"
"Great".
"You less Busy?" He asked.
"Yeah "
"Okay, let's discuss "
"About what?" I chuckled
"Anything "
"Come around and we'll discuss "
"You're silly" He said with a laugh.
"I know " I said laughing.
"Talk to you later anyways " He said and hung up.
Cici, the house help served me a while later.
When my mom came back, I told her how it went and she was so happy.
I'm really glad to put a smile on her face
