Max heard Caroline, only to look a little surprised. He quickly got up off the bed and moved past Caroline. When he entered the living room, he realized she was right. They were gone. “f*****g Gavin.” He pulled out his phone before texting Jamie and Gavin, asking where they were before quickly putting his shoes on. “You wait here. I’ll go find her.” Max said this before quickly running to the door to find Jamie.
Caroline watched as Max put his shoes on. “Wait, I’ll go find her.” She knew that if Max went to find Jamie, he would become aggressive with her, and with Jamie’s condition, it would not end well. “You stay here in case she comes back.” She rubbed a hand over his shoulder to try and calm him. Kissing his temple, she turned back to her room and got on a pair of shorts
