Luna decided not to sit back down regardless that she had permission to. She wanted to be a part of what was happening, so she chose to stand. However, hearing him call his father a spy was strange. Why would a spy have a kid just to disappear? Luna's eyes washed over the now distressed crowd. Gage was able to feel it too. She slowly moved behind her sister. "What... does he want?" Luna asked as though she was already part of everything.
"I'm not sure, but whatever it is, it is bad news for us." Sam looked from Luna to the pack. Many were murmuring to each other, while others took their pups and held them close. "I will do my best to find out what he wants and send him packing. We all know he is my father," Sam couldn't help but spit after he spoke the word, but anything else would be vile for the younger members to hear. "But I am not that man. I will not have my pack harmed. I will die for my pack and my mate."
"We will follow you, Sam." This was spoken by one of the preppy girls. Her golden eyes brightened as she looked at the alpha. This was followed by the other teens agreeing with her. One by one, the wolves of the small pack stood and hit their left breast with their right hands and lowered their heads in the formal bow.
Sam couldn't help but feel pride in his group, but he returned the formal bow to them all. He knew that he would not have survived this long if it wasn't for them. "Now, with that out of the way. Let's have fun."
Luna gave him a smile. She hadn't realized how much respect he actually held. The redhead was once again happy to be part of that. She took a deep breath before grabbing his arm and kissing his cheek. He had done it so many times that it only seemed fair she paid him back for it. "You really are an Alpha, huh?" She giggled a little bit as she spoke.
The kiss on the cheek had him smiling like crazy. His tan skin was darkened by the blush that caressed his cheeks. The brightness of his eyes intensified before he looked at her. Her questioning statement had him returning to earth. "Only until they deem otherwise." His eyes went to the different shades of light that twinkled in and out. The crowd took to the change. Their wolves, now free, lifted their heads one by one to let loose howls in harmony only nature could provide. Sam's gaze went to the pups of the group. Some, still too young to transform, decided to howl in their human forms. Their heads lifted, and the yelpy howls were heard with the others.
It was now he looked to Gage. How would she react to this revelation? Would she be like her sister, or would she hide away? It was then that the moon beckoned him as well. Stepping away from Luna, he looked at her as the light took his way. It felt weird to transform with clothing still on, but with all the young eyes watching, he knew it was necessary. The light was absorbed back into his body when the change had fully set in. Standing there, in Sam's clothes, was the raven-haired wolf.
Luna watched all of the people turn into different colored wolves. Some were big, and some were small. However, not all of them seemed to change. Gage smiled from behind her sister before running to the other group of kids. These kids hadn't managed to change yet. She, too, started howling with them and giggling about it. Luna smiled a bit before her eyes went back to Sam. She soon found herself sitting on the ground looking at him. She couldn't change, but she enjoyed everyone else. Her eyes did glow slightly to the moon, but nothing else. She held out her hand towards Sam. "Come here, Sammy. Let me get those off of you. That looks uncomfortable."
Seeing Gage run off to the other kids caused Sam to sway his tail. His head turned toward Luna, and she watched her sit on the earth. Seeing green eyes glow caused him to brighten. Hearing her offer, she awkwardly walked towards her. The beast gave a chuff-like sound.
By now, many others had removed their own clothing and were roughhousing. The preppy girls had migrated to Sam and Luna. Their eyes of amber looked at the girl.
“Yes, Vironica. Luna is my Moon.” Sam's muscles twitched under the thick coat of his wolf. He was uneasy about the females taunting Luna so close and in full wolf. He knew they would not harm her, but the uneasiness remained. The blonde wolf sniffed at Luna. The earthy scent flooded her nose before her amber gaze rested on Luna's green one. She does have a wolf in her blood, but not in her soul. Sam sat next to Luna and watched the pack. “It wouldn't matter if she was fully human. I love her anyway.”
“Sam, you are indeed something.”
“Be nice to her from now on, Vironica.”
"Yes, alpha.” The blonde wolf lowered her head before bowing and backing away. Sam turned his attention to Luna now. How about a swim?
Luna sat confused at what they were doing. They seemed to be talking, but she didn't know what they were saying. Seeing the wolf bow and walk away, Luna turned her eyes toward Sam. She now heard Sam which caused her to flinch slightly. She wasn't used to getting voice messages in her head. She then looked at the lake for a second. "Sammy... I can't...I can't swim." She looked down slightly before sighing. She took one of her hands and began to rub the back of her neck. It was one of the things she was most embarrassed about. She was never taught as a kid due to her father's inability to swim. "My mom didn't want to leave my dad out, so I was never taught."
It isn't that hard. I can teach you and Gage. And it seems I will have to do this more often, so you stop jumping like you got bit by an ant. His tail seemed to sway at his own amusement. There is a shallow area of the lake. It is where the pups play when it's warm. Standing now, the wolf waited for her answer. If she agreed, he'd take her to the pups. If she refused, he would simply sit back down. He didn't want to leave her alone and knew hanging around a bunch of wolves would probably make her feel more alone than stuck at the house. Though the rough-housing the wolves were doing was far too rough for her, he would kill any who laid a wild paw on her, playing or not.
Luna took a deep breath before slowly standing up on her feet. She felt weird that she was the only human besides the children, but there wasn't much she could do about that. She smiled at Sam before slowly petting him a little. "Okay, but you can't let me drown." She smiled a bit before looking over at Gage. Gage had already beaten her to the water with some of her friends. They began showing her how to swim a while ago. It wasn't long before the child was already out further than most. "Show off." She said before laughing a bit.
Sam looked at the pups as they splashed him. The male only shook his pelt out toward them. Alright, young ones be good.
"Yes, Sam." They spoke in unison only to start splashing each other. The wolf swayed his tail as the water reached his belly. As he was only three feet tall as a wolf, he knew it wouldn't be that deep for her. How is this my Moon? Too shallow? His eyes reached her own as he stood in the water.
Luna stared at the water for a second before facepalming. How could she get into the water with shoes and clothes on? The girl would end up going home wet. She sat on the ground before the water and untied her shoes. She was wearing ankle socks and some old tennis shoes that seemed too big for her feet. When she took them off, they looked a lot smaller than they were. She stuck the socks into the shoes before pausing for a second. She knew all these animals were people, and it'd be a bad idea to do, but the last thing she wanted was to have a wet shirt. She looked around for a second to ensure no one else was looking. She didn't mind if Sam did. Something about it seemed normal to her. She grabbed her shirt from the bottom before pulling it over her head. She threw it on top of her shoes. She continued until all that was left was what she wore underneath. She then moved into the water. She went far enough that the water covered almost everything except the top part of her cleavage. "A little cold, but it's fine." She smiled a bit before taking her arms and crossing them over herself.
Luna had actually gone out further than Sam did. Where she was positioned, Sam had to swim to her. His legs kicked in the water as his head was lifted to keep his nose above any splashing. The light emits from his flesh, and his form changes. He thanked the darkness for covering him under the water and walked to Luna. "I got you." He spoke softly as his hands took her waist. She was beautiful under the rays of the moon. Hell, she was beautiful at any time of the day. Lifting Luna's feet off the ground, Sam smiled. "Are you ready?"
Luna was a little scared of trying to swim. She never really went out farther than she could reach. Feeling him pick her up, though, caused Luna not to be as scared as she usually would be. She then thought about how she was feeling his hands instead of anything wolf-like. Luna realized that he was now in his human form, and this caused her to cover her face for a couple of seconds. If it weren't for it being dark, you'd be able to tell she was turning red. Luna knew wolves did not change back into clothes. She wasn't sure if she was bothered or excited. She took a deep breath before nodding. "Yeah, let's do this then." She smiled a bit before looking at him.
Holding her in his arms, he walked off the shallow edge. "Kick your legs." He spoke softly as his arms loosened. He kept her close but distanced himself enough, so he didn't get kicked.
