The High School Kids

[Mr. Castaneda] "But even if Haviba couldn't trust her classmates, she should have been able to trust the school itself, especially since we'd chosen Hamelton High School  specifically because of their emphasis on safety and support." [Atty Ferrer] "So, when you enrolled Haviba at the Hamelton High School, did you ask about their policies regarding bullying?" I looked at him seriously. [Mr. Castaneda] "We let them know that Haviba had some problems at her previous school. Girls and Boys being mean, that sort of thing, and we didn't want her to have to go through that again." [Atty Ferrer] "And when you asked about the policies. What were they told?" [Mr. Castaneda] "But then they just stood back and let everything happen. If the school had just stepped up and paid attention, then things never would've gone as bad as they did for her... And she'd still be that same happy, hopeful kid she always was." then I looked at my wife sitting beside Michel. She smiled at me. - [Haviba] Because in high school - one rumor, one picture... one incident, everyone will judge you and it can define you forever... When you're the target, you do anything you can to protect yourself. Sometime's you hide. Sometimes you fight back. Anything you have to do. Because the thing is, in high school, everyone's watching you..... all that time. You have to be careful. You have to protect yourself, any way you can. So, that's what I did.  - [SCHOOL BELL RING] [Jendel] Habang naglalakad ako sa hallway ng masalubong ko si Apryll. "The hell is wrong with everyone today?" tanong nito pagkakita sa akin.   "You haven't heard?" umiling naman ito. "Heard what?" tumingin naman ako sa kanya sabay lingon sa paligid. "Maybe we should get out of here." napakunot naman noo nito. "Why? What's going on?" natahimik naman ako habang naka tingin sa kanya. "Tell me." sigaw nito sa akin. "The video records, they're out." nagulat naman ito sa sinabi ko. "What?" sabay atras nito ng lakad. "I know. I'm so sorry, This is worst." then she started to cry. Hinawakan ko naman siya sa balikat. "No way. Don't touch me, I have to go." sabay lakad nito papalayo sa akin.  Napahawak na lang ako sa ulo ko. - [Jarvy] Papasok na sana ako ng room ng bigla akong itulak ni Zion sa may pintuan. "How the f**k this is happened?" agad naman kami inawat nila Gavin at Jarold. "Someone posted the video records online. Last nigth, I guess." tumingin naman ako sa kanya habang inis na inis ang mukha nito sa galit. "Someone?" sigaw nito. "Anonymously." sabay lakad nito papalapit sa professor table. "That's f****d up." sigaw nito sabay tumba ng mesa. Napaatras naman kaming tatlo. "What are we going to do?" tanong ni Gavin sabay lingon namin sa kanya. "I'm just need to think a seconds." sabay lakad nito palabas ng room at agad naman sumunod si Gavin at Jarold sa kanya. Lumabas na den ako ng room at agad na naglakad papuntang locker room halos lahat sila naka tingin sa akin. Hinayaan ko na lang sila. Biglang may bumanga sa akin na babaeng tumatakbo. "Sht." sigaw ko at nagka tinginan kaming dalawa. "Apryll." she's crying, yumuko naman agad ito. "Are you okay?" I asked her. "Why don't you care? Get out my way." sabay tulak niya sa akin. Sinundan ko naman siya ng tingin hanggang sa mawala na ito. "Harvy." napalingon naman ako sa tumawag sakin. "Jendel?" sabay lapit nito sa akin. "Did you see Apryll? She ran from here." he looks worried. Even me. "Yeah, she ran from there." tinuro ko naman ko saan ito tumakbo. "Thanks. I have to go." sabay lakad nito palayo sa akin. Napakunot naman ang noo ko. What's happening here? s**t. Why this is happened to us. [sigh] Nagmadali naman akong naglakad pabalik ng room, because I'm almost 30 mins late. - [Jarold] We're here at Janitor's old room at naging tambayan na namin. We called it Base House at kasalukuyan akong naka upo sa sofa habang si Zion naman ay hindi mapakali.  "I thought it was gonna settle." lumingon naman ito sa akin.  "Don't worry about it." he replied.  "What is that Fraucs gonna testify?" I asked. "I don't know and I f*****g don't care." "Yeah, because of Haviba Castaneda s**t will get dredged up all over again." I sighed.   "My dad's got the trial covered." lumapit ito sa akin sabay tapik sa balikat ko. "We'll figure it out." I said.  "Don't worry about the f*****g trial, Man." sabay lakad nito paupo sa sofa. [Gavin] "What we will do now?" tanong ko naman sa kanila.  "Can you just shut up your f*****g mouth." Zion shouted on him. "Find that f*****g anonymous person who posted a video records online." sigaw ulit nito.  Lumingon naman ako kay Jarold na agad tumayo at kinuha ang bag niya.  "Where you going?" I asked him. "We both know who's that anonymous person." napakunot naman noo ko. Tumayo na den ako at sabay kaming naglakad palabas ng base house at iniwan namin si Zion. Dumiretso naman agad kami sa Computer Room kong nasan ang hinahap namin. Pagkapasok namin agad ko naman nilapitan ang isang lalaking naka talikod sa amin na busy sa harap ng computer. "Hey, fuckers!" lumingon ito sa amin at agad ko naman siyang sinuntok sa mukha, dahilan para matumba siya sa kinauupuan niya. Hinatak ko siya patayo at hinawakan ang kwelyo ng polo niya. "Do you think that we don't know that you're the annonymus person who posted the video records online?" then I punch him at his stomach. "I--- I don't know what are you talking about.." sigaw nito halos maiyak naman ito sa sakit, agad kong sinipa ang hita niya hanggang sa mahiga siya sa sahig. Tumingin naman ako kay Jarold na agad pinalo ng baseball bat ang computer na gamit nito. "Let's get out of here." tawag ko rito at sabay tango nito.  "You better know you're place, asshole!" sabay lakad namin palabas ng computer room.  - [Alec] "I'm just making a research when I heard someone at my back, then I just turn around and I saw Gavin and Jarold they entered the Computer Room.. then they just punched me at my face.. they also broke the computer and I don't f*****g know why did they do that s**t! But I think it is all about the video records who linked last nigth." [School Councillor] "Why do you think that it's all about the video records? Are you involved with that records?" I looked at him seriously. "Ofcourse not, I don't.. I don't know.. why me. But maybe because Haviba and I are friends and they just think that I'm the one who posted it.. and they're scared that there secrets may blow out. But I'm not the one who posted it. I don't even have a copy of that shit." I shouted on him. Sumeryoso naman bigla ang mukha nito habang naka tingin sa akin. "Who do you think... who posted the video records online?" I sighed then I looked at him. "I don't know, I don't have any idea. But thanks to anonymous person who posted it online. Maybe it's time to know the truth and  they must pay for this.. for what did they do to me." I shouted on him. Seryoso parin ang mukha nito. "Okay, you may go." mas lalo naman akong nainis sa sinabi nito. "What? you will not do anything about this? for what they did to me? they punched me, can't you see this. They are bastard and they are the one who killed Haviba----" bigla naman itong tumayo. "Watch your words Mr. Veneza, you can't accuse them. The trial are not allowed you to speak like that. Were not in the courtroom. I said you may go and I'll talk to them." mahinahon nitong sabi. Tumayo naman ako at agad na tumalikod. "Well, even before when Haviba needs some help.. you're just let them... You haven't do anything, this school is sucks. Bullshit!" sabay lingon ko sa kanya at naglakad palabas ng dean office. Fuckshit! Those f*****g r****t guys they must pay for this... For what they did to me. Nagpatuloy ako sa paglalakad hanggang sa makarating ako sa tapat ng Laboratory at agad akong pumasok rito.  - [Jarvy] Nasa baseball field ako ngayon at nakita ko naman sila Zion, Gavin at Jarold na papalapit sa akin. Bigla naman akong inakbayan ni Zion. "We already give him a lessons, maybe he keep his f*****g mouth this time." nakangiti nitong sabi. Napakunot naman noo ko sa kanya. "Who?" his evil smile again. "The anonymous guy? He is Alec Veneza. The nerd photographer and a computer student." sabay ngisi ni Jarold. "What did you do?" nag tinginan naman sila ni Gavin. "We're just give him a lesson that he will love it so much." sabay tawa nila. Napabuntong hininga na lang ako. "Everyone, compress." narinig ko naman boses ni Coach Zach at agad naman kaming nag silapitan sa kanya. Habang nag didiscuss si Coach about sa darating na game. Nakita ko naman si Jendel di kalayuan na may kinakusap itong babae nakatalikod sa pwesto ko kaya hindi ko makita ang mukha nito, bigla naman itong tumingin sa direksyon ko at agad na naglakad papasok ng hall. • • • © All Rights Reserved 2020
