Three Blocks Of Hell

We were staying in an abandoned laundry mat. It was good but it's not gonna make it through the hoard. These hoards have gotten worse over the months. The last radio signal was lost about a month ago. They were still trying to cover up this mess. Telling us to stay inside, don't open windows, lock your doors. Now look, Everyone is dead. Kinda. We've learned to ignore the bullshit that they try to feed to us. So we did the opposite of what they said and look at us, Surviving at the finest. I thought the big apple was supposed to be for dreams and finding meaning in life. Now I'm a professional walker slayer. Almost feels like a dream. . We made it past the swimming center but the supermarket. That's when Sam stops her horse. We don't have time. We really shouldn't be going near there. I signed to her to come back but she just kept signing 'first-aid we need' I sighed I told her to hurry we don't have much time. we have 3 and a half hours until the hoard makes it to us. I don't like the idea of splitting up, due to the fact that I've lost too many people, So we get the horses hidden and made sure we had our weapons ready. I signed to Max ' I go first keep the girls in the middle you stay behind us watch our back' I winked and c****d my gun back and slowly went inside. . It was dark, muggy, and smelled of mold. I cut my flashlight on to see what I'm walking into. All the food was gone, the only thing that remains are maggots and mush of what looks to be vegetables. We kept on until Sam tapped my shoulder twice, letting me know she found it, she went down the aisle and grabbed all the supplies she could fit into her bag. Thankfully she found ibuprofen. It's been a long time since we've gotten something this good. She turned to be and begins to sign ' do you hear that' I freeze *tap.... tap.....tap* 'its a walker. let's get out of here!' We made our way swiftly out of the store, Sam and Max got the horses while we made sure it was clear to walk through the parking lot. We got 3 hours left. I hope what she got was worth it. . "so Jess where is this bomb shelter?" Tara questions . "So it's not a bomb shelter. It's a tornado shelter and... I'm not sure exactly. I remember it when I was a kid. I'm sure I'll be able to find it." I say . "so what do we do if we don't find it in time for the hoard? Will we be okay?" she worriedly asked me . " I promise love. I will find it. Just for us all." I smiled at her . With that we continued dodging in and out of some abandos trying to be quiet because I remember some brain splitters around here. Just to let you know these are worse than walkers. BS are the one you should run from if you have no experience with them. They can morph their head in half and the inside, let's just say, is filled with teeth. Not normal walker teeth but sharper and almost like a shark. You have to blow them up to kill them. It's not fun. We have to get to the library before we move to the next spot. We need new books to read. . *sign language* aren't the splitters here? -Sam . yes. we just have to be quiet -Jess . want me to set up some back up bombs?-Max . yes but keep them behind us. we need to get into the library. -Jess . just hurry up! I don't like these things. -Tara . okay okay! Ill only be a few seconds. -Jess . We made it out perfectly fine. I needed new survival books. They have really good stuff in there. We continued through an ally way. It is the perfect shortcut past the walkers and cars that have piled up over the time. The park wasn't that far now. We are gonna make it. That was until I heard one of Max's bombs go off. Thankfully it was the one when we first left which means we got an hour left. We got to get to the underground shelter soon.
