Chapter Thirteen:Goodnight I stared at the screen for a while after her last message, my heart still racing like everything had just happened all over again. It didn’t feel real. A few hours ago, she was just a stranger. Now… She was mine. Or at least— That’s what we had just agreed on. I let out a quiet breath, running a hand through my hair. This was crazy. A small laugh escaped me. This couldn’t be real. And yet… It was. I turned slightly, pulling my blanket closer. My phone lit up one last time. Ezra: Don’t disappear on me tomorrow. My heart skipped. A soft smile formed on my lips. Violet: I won’t. This time, when I closed my eyes… It wasn’t emptiness that followed. It was her.
