Chapter 1: The Double Life
My name is Gabriela, and I’m 25 years old. I was born and raised in a small town in Brazil, but I’ve always dreamed of something bigger—something that would take me far beyond the quiet streets of my hometown. Now, here I am in New York City, chasing those dreams and trying to build a future that no one thought was possible for someone like me.
I never thought I’d make it to New York. For a girl from a small town in Brazil, the Big Apple was always a distant dream, a fantasy I used to watch in movies and TV shows. But here I am, sitting at my tiny desk in the corner of an open-plan office, working as an intern for one of the most prestigious companies in Manhattan.
Getting here wasn’t easy. It took a lot of late nights, sacrifices, and, well... a bit of creativity. Two years ago, I realized that my 9-to-5 retail job in São Paulo wasn’t going to take me where I wanted to go. I wanted more—more opportunities, more money, more freedom. That’s when I discovered On*liFams. At first, I hesitated. The stigma, the risks, the vulnerability—it all scared me. But the idea of earning enough to pay for an international education and carve a future in the United States was more powerful than my fear.
I set boundaries for myself. My content was daring but never crossed the limits I wasn’t comfortable with. My biggest asset, beyond my creativity, was my body. I’d always been proud of my natural curves—a small waist that emphasized my hips, toned legs from years of dancing as a teenager, and a warm, confident smile that made people feel at ease. My caramel skin, inherited from my mixed heritage, glowed under the right lighting. I learned how to enhance every angle, every detail, until my audience felt like they were drawn into my world. I invested in good equipment, lighting, and marketing strategies. I wasn’t just selling content; I was selling confidence, an air of mystery, and the charm of a Brazilian woman chasing her dreams. To my surprise, my profile took off. Within months, I was earning more than I’d ever dreamed. I used every dollar wisely—paying for online courses, improving my English, and saving for my move to the U.S.
When I landed the internship at this company, it felt like validation for all my hard work. I told myself that On*liFams was just a stepping stone—a means to an end. I have bigger dreams. I want to climb the corporate ladder, prove my worth in the business world, and one day make enough to leave that platform behind for good.
But balancing these two worlds isn’t easy. By day, I’m just another intern, fetching coffee, taking notes, and trying to impress my colleagues. By night, I’m someone else entirely—a persona that lives online, far from the polished walls of this office. No one here knows about my secret, and I intend to keep it that way.
I look out the window at the towering skyscrapers surrounding me. This city is brutal, unforgiving, and full of ambition. But I’ve made it this far. I have no intention of stopping.
Someday, I’ll be at the top of this building—not as an intern, but as someone who commands the room. And when that day comes, I’ll leave the double life behind and finally live on my own terms.
For now, though, I’ll keep walking the tightrope between my two lives, knowing that every step I take is bringing me closer to the future I’ve always dreamed of.
