Still at the shopping mall: “Dude we have to get out of here,” Jamison said as he held Prof’s hand the second time. This time Prof did not hesitate but followed Jamison and the two guards downstairs. “I think we need weapons because I am tired of this s**t,” Prof yelled. “How can a lady point a goddam gun at me and threatened to blow my head off?” he added. “Sir Calm down,” one of the guards said. “Don’t tell me to calm down, I'm not calm,” Prof yelled back at him. “Whoa whoa! Easy Prof,” Jamison cuts in. “Alright, let's grab the remaining items and hit the road while we can,” Prof said. Prof headed to where Jamison picked the ax from and got some tools like a small pickaxe, hammer, some long screwdrivers, and then headed to the van. Seeing him with all these items, Jamison exclaimed, “Oh boy! Prof, what are you doing with those?” “Let me show you,” Prof replied as he approaches a dead with one of the pickaxes. With his hands steadied, he targeted the head of the dead and hit it so hard. “Wow, I need to get one of those,” one of the guards said. “There is enough for everyone let’s go,” Prof said. A voice from behind said, “Please wait.” As they turned, it was the woman and her little girl. Immediately Prof lifted the pickaxe as he quickly positioned it and was ready to defend himself. “I am sorry for what happened up there. My daughter and I are stuck in here since the outbreak,” the woman said. “You mind if we go with you?” she added. Prof looked at Jamison for a response but Jamison said, “It is on you Prof, don’t look at me.” The little girl cuts in and pleaded with them and then said, “If you guys go, the deadies will eat us up.” As they were still talking; the deadies started banging on the van, forcing their way to reach them but the van and the company’s car restrained them. As everyone was still waiting for a reply from the Prof, one of the guards immediately headed to the emergency exit and shut the door saying in a loud voice, “We might still come back for more supplies; the deadies eat flesh and not food.” Prof then stared at the woman saying, "You can come with us." “But your shotgun stays with the guards,” Prof added. “Thank you so much,” she replied as she and her daughter entered the company’s car.  The glasses of the company’s car were already cracked from the pressure of the deadies trying to reach them. As Prof turns his ignition on, the glass of the company’s broke. The little girl who sat at the back began to scream as the deadies are now reaching in to grab her. The guard driving yelled at Prof, “Go go go!!!” Prof without hesitation accelerated the van and drove through the deadies as the guard followed suit. Everyone in the Atlas Lab became worried about them. No one was at peace until they heard the horning at the gate. The guard at the gate hastily opened up the gate. The van and the company’s car were all stained in blood with pulpy fresh on it. They encountered more deadies blocking the entrance of the mall on their way out. They had to drive through the deadies. In the company’s car was some of the deadies' decayed skin all over the car. Dr. McQueen walked out and as soon as he was about to ask what took them so long, another horn was heard. “Prof, are you expecting anyone?” Dr. McQueen asked sternly. “No Boss," Prof replied. “Shhhh, Be calm,” Dr. McQueen whispered while the guard at the gate looked through the CCTV and whispered back to his Boss Dr. McQueen saying, “It’s the police.” “The police?” Prof asked glancing at Dr. McQueen with surprise. “Are we going to be arrested for going to the mall?” Jamison also asked with curiosity. At this time officer CJ has gotten down from the car, trying to see if anyone was home. He started hearing murmuring from the inside as he gently tapped on the gate as he said, “it’s the police, open up.” Everyone inside became weary. No one had the gut to speak up because at this time no outsider can be trusted especially those on the uniform. The gentle tapped at the gate continued as officer CJ kept saying “it’s the police, open up.” At this point, Dr. McQueen walked close to the gate and said, “I don’t think police exist anymore.” However, Officer CJ tried convincing Dr. McQueen to open up, “We are here for answers,” officer CJ said. On hearing this Jamison yelled from the inside, “Go and ask Mr. White.” As they argued if they should open up or not, Prof said, “I have an idea. If they should have to come in here, they should surrender their guns. After all, no one talks with a gun.” Officer CJ who has been paying clOSE attention to every detail of the sound from the inside spoke up from outside the gate: “It's okay with me, we will surrender our guns.” The gate was remotely opened as officer CJ drove in and as they bargained he handed his gun over and his junior officer did the same. “Greetings everyone,” officer CJ greeted as he introduced himself and his junior officer with the doctor and the other man. “We are not here for trouble but for questions to see if we can work together,” officer CJ said. Jamison whispered from where he was standing, “Oh I am relieved.” “I was privileged to hear the broadcast from this company’s radio wave,” officer CJ said. “And that’s why we are here,” he added. Dr. McQueen felt relieved and asked Prof to escort officer CJ and his companions to his office for further discussions. Inside the office of Dr. McQueen, they were given refreshments as they discussed and shared the challenges they have encountered. Nevertheless, Dr. McQueen did not mention Mr. White to them and how the outbreak started. After a long conversation, officer CJ took interest in the largeness of Atlas lab and pleaded with Dr. McQueen to house them because the station is vulnerable. “We can help each other,” CJ said. “We have weapons and can increase the defense of this place from external attack or intruders,” officer CJ added and he gave Dr. McQueen more reasons to accept them. “Each hour people out there are becoming more violent and killings have been recorded,” officer CJ said. “How do you know about the killings? Don’t tell me you are still patrolling around?” Dr. McQueen asked sternly. With smiles on his face officer, CJ replied saying, “My fellow officers and I, though left with few men; we're able to contact the Commissioner of Police and he has ordered us to guard our province, which includes Atlas lab. The commissioner stated five thousand deaths have been recorded.” Dr. McQueen cuts in, “You mean humans or the deadies?” Officer CJ replied saying, “Oh no sir, I am not talking about the deadies but humans. And those who died were seen turning into deadies. I still have not understood why humans who died without being bitten turns to deadies.” On hearing this Prof and Dr. McQueen looked at each other. “You mean those who were not bitten turns to deadies when they die?” Dr. McQueen asked. “That’s correct sir,” officer CJ replied. “I am yet to understand this,” Prof said. “We need to add this to our research,” Dr. McQueen also said. “Officer CJ it’s nice to have you guys here but you will give us few minutes to discuss with our people here on letting you in.” “Thank you sir,” officer CJ replied as he shook hands with Dr. McQueen and Prof. Prof and Dr. McQueen stepped outside and gathered everyone around. He told them about their conversation with officer CJ and they all agreed to let them in. With this Prof and Dr. McQueen went back to the office and communicated the response to them. They were happy as they thanked Prof and Dr. McQueen. Officer CJ turned and said to the doctor and the man with him saying, no need for you two to go back with us to the station. We will go now as it is already getting late and by morning we should be on our way back here.” They agreed as Prof and Dr. McQueen escorted officer CJ and his junior officer to where they parked the patrol car. The guard opened the gate remotely and let them drive out as he returned their guns. Dr. McQueen instructed the available science team to get the particles of the deadies in the company’s car and begin new research with the information he has gathered from officer CJ. “We need to be safe and healthy,” Prof said. “We now have a medical practitioner with us in case you feel sick,” Prof added. Prof briefly shared what they learned from officer CJ about humans turning into deadies when they die. “Above all let’s live peacefully and like a family,” Dr. McQueen said. As they all retired to their corners, the lady from the mall approached Prof with her daughter and said “Sir, I want to thank you for letting us come with you. I am sorry about the incident at the mall.” As she was about to say more Prof interrupted, “Is alright. You were trying to keep your daughter safe. We are cool.” “Thank you sir” she replied. “I am Lucy,” she added as she stretched out her hand to shake the Prof. Reaching out to her with his hands Prof Shook her hand and replied, “I am Prof Styles but friends call me Prof. Nice to meet you, ma’am.” “Thank you sir,” she replied with a smile on her face. This is my daughter Julie,” she added as Julie gave a hand wave to Prof with a smile. “That’s a sweet name Julie,” Prof said. “Thank you so much sir,” Julie replied with a soft smile. “Do you mind heading to the dining with me for dinner before others take the space?” Prof politely asked. “Oh, that’s nice of you sir” Lucy replied. “Ladies first then,” Prof said with a smile and a wink as he points the way. It’s already dark as officer CJ and his junior officer made their way into the station. They gathered everyone and shared the good news with them. Officer CJ starts to address the people in the station; “I thank you all for conforming to the rules set out by me here in this station. Please as we go to the Atlas Lab tomorrow morning let’s kick violence out. My fellow officers and I will still be enforcing the law as we get there. If there is any case of violence, it will still be a normal legal procedure. We are still humans and not deadies. As we still live and breathe we must do the right thing.” After officer CJ finished addressing the people at the station he asks them to rest and prepare for tomorrow’s trip to the Atlas Lab. Back at the Atlas Lab, a lot of fun was going on as the people ate together as a family. Dr. McQueen congratulated Prof, Jamison, and the two guards for their bravely in getting supplies for them. He encouraged everyone to keep showing care to one another even as new people will be joining them tomorrow. “We need peace in as much as the deadies have taken over our city; there are still people outside there waiting for us. Most of our families are outside the city. Let’s not get hurt and stay away from trouble,” Dr. McQueen addresses them.
