Chapter 2

Naira POV “What about our Mate?! We have to run away from here and find our Mate!” Ignis suddenly shouted inside my head. Oh my God, how did I forget that? If I was sold away, I might never find my Mate. Would my dream of finding my Mate and living happily with him go to hell because of my father and Nightshadow?! “Well, since you won't accept solving this matter peacefully, there is no other way.” Kailan bared his fangs and took an attacking stance before roaring with anger and power. “I challenge you for the Alpha position.” I quickly stepped back as I saw my father do the same and prepare to attack. “Fine, you asked for this.” He smiled at Kailan coldly. Before I could object or even speak, Kailan's body slammed violently into the wall while my father stood before him, slashing him with his claws using all his strength. Of course, he was stronger than him because he was the Alpha. Both of them released powerful growls as they fought, but my father clearly had the upper hand in this battle. My claws extended as well. I would never abandon my brother. I would help him no matter what happened. I didn't care. I was about to move, but Seraphina suddenly grabbed my arm and said seriously, “That's not a good idea. If you interfere, things will only get worse. Wait until Luna arrives. We might be able to solve this.” How had I forgotten my mother? I nodded at her, and she released my arm. I quickly mind-linked my mother and asked her to come immediately. Because of my shock over everything that had happened, I couldn't think clearly. Not even five minutes passed before the door to the room was smashed open by my mother. “What is going on here? What happened to both of you? Why are you fighting?” She was extremely angry. She was the only one who could speak to the Alpha this way because she was his Mate. The two separated from each other. Kailan was covered in bruises and blood because of what had happened to him, while the bastard simply adjusted his chair and sat down as if he had done nothing. I hurried over to Kailan, who was breathing with difficulty and clearly in pain. “And now I want to know what is happening here.” My mother continued angrily as her eyes moved between the four of us, especially between my father and Kailan. Kailan spat blood from his mouth and laughed mockingly. “Your Mate sold Naira to Alpha Nightshadow.” Our father said impatiently, “Yes, I sold her, and this is a decision that concerns me as the Pack Alpha. The Pack comes before family.” “Well, that's enough. I said I won't go, and that's final.” I then headed toward the doorway that no longer existed, wanting to get away from that bastard. I no longer had the energy to tolerate him. “Listen, you i***t. You'll go even if you refuse. I won't sacrifice myself and my Pack because of you, understand? Alpha Nightshadow doesn't let go of what belongs to him, and you belong to him now, so accept it quickly.” I looked at my mother, who was staring at the floor helplessly. What had I expected from her anyway? I hurried out, and the last thing I heard was Kailan shouting angrily, “I won't allow this, you failed Alpha who sells his own daughter!” I ran into the forest quickly, feeling a heavy weight in my chest as I thought about everything that had happened, about my Mate whom I might never find now, about Ignis and what she was feeling, and about that monster Nightshadow. My life had truly become a tragedy. A few moments later, I shifted into my wolf form. Ignis immediately started protesting. “We are not going to Nightshadow. Never. We will find our Mate and live with him. Let's run away from here immediately.” “It's not like I want to go either, Ignis. That bastard is nothing but a monster.” I replied calmly because I understood her very well. “Then let's run away. This is our chance. We won't be able to escape if we go back. Or we kill your father and don't run away. Those are the only two solutions. Pick whichever one you like.” She spoke with complete seriousness. “If we run away, that monster might kill the entire Pack, including my siblings and my mother. I'm in an impossible position right now. They already signed the contract to sell me. I have to choose between my life and the lives of my family and Pack members.” I replied sadly. “If you decide to sacrifice us and our Mate, I will block you out and never speak to you again.” She said angrily before shutting herself off from me. Even Ignis was against me now. “I wish I could find a way out of this mess.”
