Before I could ask any more questions, Ignes retreated once again into her strange silence.
I huffed in frustration. That wasn't a useful answer at all.
But one thought began creeping into my mind.
Could it be... my mate?
No. I didn't even want to think about that.
If my mate was really here, it would be the worst possible timing.
I'd been sold to a man I didn't know, had just arrived at a strange pack, and now the Moon Goddess wanted to throw me into even more chaos?
After a while, I finished arranging my belongings in the bathroom.
When I came out, Evelyn looked at me seriously before saying, "Alpha Nightshadow wants to see you."
I froze in place. Those were exactly the words I had been hoping not to hear.
