Caroman’s words unsettled Tarkyn. He had become used to commanding more power than any of those around him. Even though Stormaway and Danton were strong in magic, their power had always been directly at his disposal. So he was not at all sure that he liked the advent of such a powerful, manipulating triad. Caroman and Stormaway had clearly been guiding events in Eskuzor for decades and from what he gathered, both from Danton and from Navira herself, his sister had known of him for years but had made no push to meet him until now. In fact, she had actively avoided him in the Lost Forest when they had been there three months previously. And now Danton, his closest sorcerer ally, had aligned himself with this powerful wizardess and her secrets.
