Mark and Callie stayed in his office. Even after she had calmed down, Callie was nervous. She was beginning to question her decisions since she and Mitch had split up. She sighed as she snuggled deeper into Mark’s side.
“If you tell me what is wrong, I will try to fix it,” Mark said as he kissed her head.
Callie scoffed, “You can’t fix this. I made this mess and I have no idea how anyone will ever fix it.”
“Mitch made this mess. Not you,” Mark said more forcefully than he had intended. He sighed and continued, “Mitch is the one who did not treat you and Maya the way he should have. He should have been thrilled to have Maya, yet he acted like she was an insult or something. Mitch is an i***t. No one can fix that except him.”
